The house has an awesome view. It worked out perfectly for our family and the outdoor shower was a great feature. You must have a 4wd vehicle! We will be back.

This property is 15 minutes off the road on a narrow steep dirt road. The gated community has a guard in the station who opens the gate upon leaving or entering.
The house is amazing! Great views, well stocked with kitchen equipment, opens up to allow the breezes in. Be sure to close bedroom doors so the air conditioning works in the rooms. It is isolated, quiet so we enjoyed just hanging out there.

Our family had a fantastic time staying at this home for the New Years holiday! The house was clean and comfortable, and the views were spectacular! It was quite and private, and we enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood each morning. The owner was easy to work with and provided a lot of good information before we arrived.
We enjoyed doing excursions in the morning and then coming back to swim and relax during the heat of the day. Because this home sits higher up a mountain, it was the perfect temperature (not too hot, not too humid).
It was also really convenient to have two restaurants (Scala and Sibu Cafe) and a small store down the hill from the house.
We saw lots of birds, could hear the howler monkeys in the distance and had a sloth in the tree outside the kitchen window one day. It was the perfect family getaway!

You cannot access the last road without a 4x4 car. They don’t let you past the gate if you not have a 4x4.
beautiful house. Full equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds.

Our stay was in the rainy season and it was very enjoyable. Early sunrise offers an amazing tranquil view of the Pacific Ocean, Low tide Whale’s Tail rock shoal, and Osa Peninsula. Each afternoon after hiking the area waterfalls, visiting parks, and indulging in delicious food we watched the afternoon rains and relaxed in this peaceful home in the clouds.
Driving the Costa Rica Mountains is an adventure! As mentioned in the listing: 4 wheel drive and day time arrival (at least the 1st day) is not optional (check sunset before booking flights and vehicle rental) we needed 5.5 hrs from out of country SJO arrival to the driveway. Downtown Uvita is a side street off of 34 with The Bakery, Farmstand, Smoothie cafe and local waterfall about 20 mins. Our favorite restaurants were: Pura Videa at Cristal Ballena, La Cusinga at Aracari, La Percela, NFusion, Citrus and of course super close Scala.

My family (parents, wife and kids) had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the home inside and out. Outdoor landscaping and views of the pacific are fantastic. Everything in the home works, no issues. Very responsive owner.

This 3 bedroom home in gated Costa Verde Estates was perfect for our family. We had excellent communication from the beginning with the owner and then the property manager upon arrival. We saw a lot of birds, parrots, toucans, and heard the Howler monkeys a couple mornings! The yard was beautiful with a large space to workout and do yoga. It’s in a great location about half way between Uvita and Dominical. The kitchen has all one needs for meal preparation. You need a 4x4 to get to the house, but that is very normal for any of the homes with the great views in the mountains. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a clean home with excellent views and a large kitchen and living space to hang out!

The views are staggering with peaceful and serene property. The house has a great layout with lots of space for a family and entertaining. Corrine, the owner, is incredibly responsive and helpful when we had questions.
The drive to the house is for those who are comfortable with driving on typical Costa Rican roads that are steep and narrow. You must have 4wd to access the property and the roads to the home are well maintained. We will be back!

We stayed at Casa Carmel for 6 nights and we did not want to leave. Corinne, the owner, and John the property manager went out of their way to accommodate us last minute. The property has amazing views, a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances (and a blender to make smoothies), and peace and quiet.
Things to know: you definitely need a 4x4 to get up the hill, eat at Scala restaurant about 1/2 way up the hill (not cheap but worth every penny), and RELAX on the patio overlooking the whale tale. Pura Vida all the way.

Beautiful Light Filled House with all you need
This house was perfect for our few days in Uvita. Clean, simple, elegant, not filled with lots of personal things from the owners. I felt like I walked in a minimalistic gorgeous landscape with all we needed. You definitely need a good 4 wheel drive and it is a trek from the main road, yet we loved it. It is safe and secure in this gated community, with space from other houses. We would stay there again.

The home is spectacular perched above the sea high in the mountain tops. The cool breeze was perfect, the home is everything you need. John was there to help if we needed it and he is truly a gentleman. We wish we could have stayed longer. Next time and we will be back!!!

Relaxing beyond belief!
This house is very bright and open - it flows so well with fresh air and the sounds of the wildlife.
Corrine, the owner, was very responsive to all inquiries. The road to the house is steep and quite long but once you arrive you will appreciate the drive - stunning views!!! The high altitude created fresh, almost crisp air which was refreshing after spending days in the towns or on the beach. The evening are quite remarkable with absolute quiet, until the early am when the symphony of birds begin. I don't think I've heard as many birds singing together in all of our stays in Costa Rica. One of the fun surprises was watching paragliders sail by every day. Its a great home!

Beautiful property indoors and out
Whether you are hanging outside enjoying the view or spending some time inside this place has it all. We booked last minute to extend our stay after spending time at another house in this gated community and are so glad we did. The house is open and big and has everything you need. Outside you can sit back and enjoy being in the mountains with nature. The property manager, John is attentive and very helpful as well as the owners. We would love to go back. The only thing that would have made it even better is if the weather was as nice as the house.

Beautiful spacious house near beaches
The house is about 20 mins form the Costanera (main highway) and have to go through steep hills to get there, so definitively a 4x4 vehicule is needed.
The gated community is very private and beautiful, and so is the house. Just as it is shown in the pictures, all rooms are are confortable and common areas are well thought and spacious.
There is ac in the bedrooms, but because of the breeze that you get in the mountain and the fact that you can open large doors leading to the pool and leave screens close to get protection from insects, we almost did not use the ac at all.
The house is very clean and very well maintained, so everything works great. If there is something that you need, John the property manager is available and will do his best to help in a very short time.
If you are planning to cook you own meals, the house has the best equipped kitchen, and even and outdoor grill for BBQ.
My family and I had a great time, and will recommend this property to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy both mountain and beach in Costa Rica.

Mountaintop Majesty
When we walked in, we all said in one form or another, “we should have booked this house for the entire trip.” It is even more beautiful than the photos show. The outdoor shower is a real treat, as are the many birds, sounds, pool, stars, and of course - views!! Tremendous sunsets over the water. Toucans. Howler monkeys. Everything was perfect.

Vacation in Paradise
We had an amazing stay here. The location is phenomenal, with beautiful views of the ocean and surrounded by jungle. We saw toucans, vultures, peccaries, and heard howler monkeys. Very close to both Uvita and Dominical for any shopping, dining, or beach needs. The house was clean, had wonderful breezes, and a nice little pool. It is well appointed, with everything you might need in the kitchen for your home away from home. The outdoor shower is a must!
We had chef Reinier come cook dinner for us, and Yolanda came up to give us massages which I also highly recommend.
I can not say enough wonderful things about this rental, you will not be disappointed.
Do make sure you rent an SUV/4x4 for the drive up the mountain. It’s all part of the adventure!
