Another wonderful stay on BI and beautiful home!
5.0
The house is 3 stories tall with laundry in a seperate room off the massive kitchen. The lower level has 2 bedrooms, one with a bunk bed (quite small) and the other is large with an adjacent well stocked weight room. Note: there are no closets on this floor. There is one bathroom with no shower or bath. There's foos ball table
The middle level has a nice bedroom with 2 twins, desk, book shelf stocked with adult and childrens books. The kitchen is on this floor and it's huge with a beautiful island. Countertops are white quartz and beautiful. All appliances are either in the kitchen or in the adjacent laundry room. The refrigerator doors are challenging to close. All appliances are top notch and so are pots, pans, muffin tins etc. This floor also has a nice sized 'family room' with NO tv!! Yea. The upstairs floor has the master bedroom and gigantic clothes closet plus another large bedroom with a Q bed and two twins.
Facing West, or the rear of the house, is Lake Michigan and sunset views. Just a short flight down stairs (no railing or lights) to the private beach which is lovely. Kayaks are on the beach, plenty of life preservers are available along with watershoes and beach towels.
The house is pretty remote, 20 min. drive to town. Garbage must be brought to the transfer station, check their hours!
Chaise lounges would be a great addition, screened in porch also.

Beautiful property and amazing home. The 3 main bedrooms have a beautiful view from every window. Our large family was very comfortable and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Very clean, well equipped kitchen, well decorated with nice outdoor space and comfortable sleeping/bedroom areas. The new fire pit is beautiful and the new stairs make going to and from the beach easy. Thank you for the perfect, fun and relaxing visit to Beaver Island!

We all really enjoyed the house! Plenty of space for our family to spread out. We all could easily come together for food and games. Enjoyed fires outside and walking on the beach. Kids enjoyed sightseeing “the big rock”. They also played with some toys at the house and picked out books to read. We loved the sunsets at the house each night too!

This home truly deserves more then a 5 star rating! It is so clean, newly remodeled and has everything you could think of for your stay! Very generous amounts of dish soap, dish detergent, paper towel, toilet papers and laundry pods! The kitchen has everything you need from every size baking bowl, all the pans and baking sheets and everything was extremely nice! I love finding great VRBO’s to stay in when traveling and this was everyone’s favorite so far! The home is BEAUTIFUL, extremely clean and large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Truly the dream place to stay for vacation! Some of our favorite things were the 5 kayaks, the fire pit, the bunk room was a hit for the kiddos, the amazing sunsets, we love that it was secluded with no neighbors and felt spoiled how nice the home was! We’re on the boat headed home and missing it already!!! Thank you so much for the amazing stay!!!

The title of this review pretty much sums it up. I can’t recommend this house enough. Gorgeous inside and out, super comfortable, very well stocked, and an absolutely wonderful beach. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

We had a great time at this amazing property. The setting , on Lake Michigan, was incredibly beautiful. The accommodations fit our group very well, with big gathering places, a beautiful porch and many outdoor and indoor diversions. We did not need anything from our hosts( everything we needed/wanted was there😊), but they were very attentive in communications.

The house was lovely! It cannot be overrated how beautiful the sunsets were. And the stars at night!
We enjoyed the kayaks. The listing states life vests for two adults, but they had life vests in every size imaginable.
We didn’t need to bring our own toys along - there were plenty of toys and kids’ books available!

We loved this property. If you are looking for isolation and natural beauty, look no further. Our family just wanted to hang together for a week with no specific agenda. Beaver Island and this property fit this need perfectly. We spent days at the beach, both on kayaks and in the sand. We built fires at night right on the beach. During our trips to the town, we always found some water activity to keep us entertained. Weather was perfect and days were long.

Very nice home that was perfect for a multi generational family get together. Very peaceful location with a large deck to view the awesome Lake Michigan sunsets. The kitchen was fantastic and stocked with all the cookware and utensils you would ever need. The island itself is such a laid back unique place and it was great to be back on it once again. We are home now for several days and I still find myself unconsciously giving the Beaver Island wave to passing drivers. Thanks again Jon and Carolyn for sharing your property!

What a delightful week!! Our family of multiple generations all had a great time. The weather was perfect!! The property is well cared for and the house was very clean and tidy. We really appreciated having a full compliment of dishes, pots and pans and supplies like plastic wrap, foil, etc. We do wish we had known there is a Pelaton in the workout room and had brought shoes for it. Somehow we managed to find other activities though 😊.
Jon and Carolyn responded quickly with the couple of questions we had. They are helpful and kind people that clearly love their property and want ther guests to feel the same. We felt comfortable and relaxed. Thank you Jon and Carolyn! Definitely a place we'd return to!

This was my second stay this Summer at this beautiful home. My first stay was with my 6 college roommates and the second was with my family. The setting is lovely, the beach and sand bar were interesting, the kayaks easy to access and we enjoyed many sunsets and dark night skies. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. Jon is a wonderful host, always responsive to answer questions and quick to resolve issues. We liked the new trail down to the beach with the artful sign. All of my family wants to return again.

Overall, this was a great place to stay! The views were spectacular, the house was comfortable, and Jon did a great job communicating every step of the way. The house was well-kept, and instructions were helpful and clear. It's a very private setting, with fire pits by the house as well as one by the beach, as well as wood for fires. Jon's communication was fantastic, and while there were some electrical issues they're getting addressed, he made sure we were aware of the issue and how to resolve it.
A few things that may be helpful to note for future guests:
1) the house is on a hill over looking the lake, which makes for incredible views. There is a little bit of a path with large rocks as step stones to get down to the beach. It's not an issue for children or adults, but if you have a disability or are elderly, it could be a little bit of a challenge to get up and down, especially if you're on the beach after dark.
2) The beach is gorgeous and the views are incredible. However, it is not great for swimming. It is very rocky, and it's anywhere from 6 inches deep to 3-4 feet deep for a long ways out. Even hundreds of yards out on the beach, it's very rocky, with some large rocks sticking above the water. Our young kids loved playing in the sand, but we went to other beaches to swim for extended periods of time (Iron Ore Bay, Little Sand Bay, and Donegal Bay are all fantastic for swimming) rather than swimming at the house. We also brought an inflatable stand-up paddle board, which we didn't use at the house for fear of getting popped on the rocks, as well as fear of falling off and hitting a rock. We did take it to other beaches that were sandy. The kayaks provided were great, as it's a beautiful place to kayak.
3) There are two large TV's at the house. One is in the basement in the room with a king size bed/weight room. The other is on the main floor in a room with two beds. There isn't a TV in any of the common areas. We didn't use the room on the main floor for sleeping, so we could use that room as a common area for watching TV during the day.
It was a great week, and we appreciated the house and hospitality. We definitely recommend staying here, and would definitely return in the future.

Beautiful sunsets
The home was lovely, clean. The owner attentive and responsive as needed. The kitchen provided a comfortable space with appliances and cooking items to cook easily. Beach in front of the house was Sandy with a rustic path to beach. If someone has mobility challenges it could be a bit tricky. The beach right in front was sandy however walking along the beach was rocky. The owner recommended water shoes which was appreciated. Our group would return to the house. It was a wonderful comfortable getaway with amazing sunsets.

Peaceful and beautiful
Not only is this a gorgeous site, but the house feels luxurious and the owners have furnished and stocked it to make for a truly relaxing stay. We traveled with family and our kids' friends, ages 11 - 91, and had plenty of space for being together or having privacy. Although we spent most of our time outside, (on a beach we had to ourselves), we appreciated the inside amenities when it rained (good internet, tv, and fusbol). We are long time Beaver Island visitors and truly appreciate the care Jon and Carolyn put into this rental. We hope to return next year!
