About this house rental

Nestled in a picturesque cul-de-sac on the Newport/ Middletown line and comfortably accommodating 4 adult guests and 2 children, you’ll find the Cottage at Restmere, North. Convenient to everything that Newport has to offer, as well as Middletown’s stunning beaches, this location can’t be beat. Features include all brand new top-of-the-line appliances, furniture and mattresses, parking for 2 cars, and central A/C.

The space: This cottage is designed to make you feel at home. Upon entering the North unit, you will be welcomed by a spacious, comfortable living room and tasteful beachy decor. A sofa bed along the East wall allows for a very comfortable movie spot, and then provides 2 separate twin sized beds. The 55” television above the decorative fireplace has full live TV via the YouTube TV app, and allows you to sign into any of your preferred streaming services. The upgraded eat-in kitchen provides seating for 4 and is fully equipped with a Keurig, coffee pods, and all basic cooking needs. The kitchen also features all brand new stainless steel appliances. Down the hall you’ll find the bathroom with new vanity and fixtures and a rain shower head. The master bedroom features a makeup vanity with a small stool and lighted mirror. Both bedrooms are alike in size and boast queen beds with super comfortable Serta mattresses. For your convenience, there are iPhone chargers on each of the night stands . The back door to the “cottage” is off of the kitchen and leads to the deck that is complete with brand new, comfortable furniture and is shared with the South cottage next door. A new propane BBQ grill and grilling utensils are also available for your use. Although both of the property's "cottages" are adjoining, they are separated by a foyer, basement stairwell, and a rear hallway to allow for your privacy and quiet enjoyment.

Location: The cottages at Restmere are located on a cul-de-sac on the Newport/Middletown line that can only be described as serene. This location is perfect for those travelers that are looking to enjoy all that Newport has to offer but appreciate a safe and quiet place to come home to. It is located just minutes from the Newport bridge, the beaches, vineyards, downtown Newport, and the trendy and bustling restaurant scene on Broadway. Also close by are grocery stores (Shaws, Stop & Shop, BJ’s), liquor store, deli, gas station, coffee shops, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and laundromat.

Other things to note: I provide linens, towels, hotel size shampoo and body wash, K cups and tea for the Keurig, basic cooking supplies, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, etc. I ask that you bring your own beach towels.

*If availability allows, large groups can book the “South” cottage as well to sleep 12 total with parking for 4 cars.

This cute cottage was perfect for a 5 day stay in the heart and center of Newport (close to absolutely everything) but away from the hustle and bustle. Really quite nice street and wonderful hosts! I’ll definitely be back! Thank you Gale!

My friends and I had an absolutely fantastic time at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how well-maintained and welcoming the house was. The space was immaculate and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. The layout of the house was perfect for our group, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to cook meals together without any hassle. We also loved the outdoor area, which was ideal for lounging and enjoying the beautiful weather. The location was great too – close enough to local attractions for some quick outings, yet secluded enough to offer the peace and quiet we were looking for. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating and responsive, providing us with all the information we needed for a smooth stay. Overall, this property exceeded our expectations in every way. It was the perfect setting for our weekend getaway, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful escape with friends!

My husband, myself, and my lifelong best friend enjoyed this clean comfortable cottage. It was perfect for us and nice that both bedrooms featured great beds and similar decor. The extra amenities made it feel like a hotel. We hope to return in the future!

Stayed here for a weekend - here are the highlights: Cute home on a quiet street. Beds are so comfy as is the daybed in the living room. There are 2 queen beds and a daybed. Rooms are all clean and nicely decorated. There was everything we needed including a Keurig, new fridge, even a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment! Parking for 2 cars. I’d stay here again - Gale is a wonderful responsive host. We felt so welcomed and comfortable!

3 Restmere was a good choice for staying outside the tourist area of Newport. The cottage has comfortable beds and has been updated with modern amenities and bright beachy decor. Parking is right in the driveway on the property. It was close to everything you want to do while visiting the island. Gale our host was quick to respond when contacted. We would recommend booking this cottage. It was perfect for 2 adults.

This property is in a great location, I stayed here while attending the Newport Folk Festival and we were close to everything. It’s a duplex in a nice neighborhood. The bad news is while clean, there was a distinct odor of cat urine most strongly in the bedroom closest to the street. It was bad enough that my daughter couldn’t sleep in there and ended up sleeping in the living room. I was too busy attending the festival and enjoying my time outside the house to invest the time in reaching out to Gale the host for the property during my two night stay. When I did contact Gale shortly after my stay she was initially concerned and pleasant, seemingly willing to work with me but then kept giving me excuses, people she had to talk to, and has yet to compensate me for the issue and I’m not holding my breath at this point. She did tell me that I should have contacted her while I was still there and that her cleaners didn’t smell it. I promise you I did not make it up and the smell of cat urine was distinct and bothered all in my party. So, my bad? We all imagined it? Maybe Gale has addressed this and eradicated the smell or maybe she hasn’t but be forewarned either way.

The cottage is in a nice area. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The house has two units, but it felt very private. We might rent both cottages next time for more family! A short drive to downtown Newport, beaches, Cliff Walk, etc. We will be back!

My two friends and I went to celebrate their 50th birthday. This place was absolutely perfect! Very clean, neat and organized. It was perfect for the three of us. We loved the quiet location with the ease of getting to the sites in Newport. Gale, the host, was amazing! Communication with her was excellent!! The whole process of the reservation from start to finish was hassle free. Looking forward to coming back!

We couldn't have had a better spot to stay while celebrating the 4th of July weekend. The house was easy to come and go from and central to all the various communities' activities. The house was clean and bright and airy. I hope to return next year!
