Cute little 1 room 1 bath cabin for 2 that’s pet friendly and on the lake. Everything is as clean as can be, neat & orderly. The owners are extremely friendly, and go above and beyond to make sure you’re completely happy and comfortable. They’re very helpful and communicative. When we arrived we were met at the driveway by Frank who offered to help carry things in. He goes over everything with you and makes sure you understand before he leaves. We were also greeted with muffins, cookies, and treats for our dogs all made by Linda. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks again for sharing this cabin with us!! We will definitely be back!

This property is great with water front access and is well maintained. Frank and Linda were great host and very personable! They walk you through the unit and Linda made some awesome treats not only for us but for the dogs as well! We will be regular customers after one stay!

The cabin was perfect for me and my wife. Even though we brought some things with us. The place had everything we needed. The lake was practically in the backyard from the house and had the perfect place to fish from. The hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. It’s was very quiet and we will definitely be going back. Thank you so much. Tim and Laura

This little cabin on the lake in the woods located off some back roads was everything and more that i was looking for. It had everything you needed (besides food) that you would needed for a weekend stay. We showed up on Friday afternoon with our groceries and didn't have to leave until Sunday. They even had the kayaks there so you can spend some time on the lake. Frank and Linda are a hoot and i loved talking to them. Linda will have some homemade treats there waiting on you. I am definitely going to be back.

Every thing was PERFECT!!!! Best getaway for 2 adults!!! From Frank's funny personality to Linda's fresh baked goodies, our stay was magnificent!!! Even though our last day was filled with rain from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl, it was real peaceful and relaxing!!! This place has no TV, thus giving us time to talk with and focus on each other!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. We give it 5 stars our dogs give it 5 paws. The baked treats were so good. Coffee on the deck each morning started our day off on the right foot. Meet Frank and Linda our hosts have created a magical place to escape to. We will definitely be back again.

Very cute cabin, exactly as described, beautiful lake views, Frank and Linda were wonderful hosts, Linda had a small gift for my husband and had baked muffins and cookies for his birthday. They also had a doggie bag with treats and a toy for our puppy. Very nice stay, would highly recommend it to anyone that was wanting a relaxing get away.

This place was amazing. The hosts were the best part. They were very nice and accommodating the whole week we stayed. As a nice extra touch they had cookies and a cake for us on arrival!!! The house was clean and quaint, right on the lake. We had a wonderful time fishing and sitting on the back porch. A definite must if staying on this lake.

Wonderful...country...lake and quiet! Enjoyed our relaxation get-a-way time! Did some fishing but mother nature wasn't to kind with the weather. We didn't get to see one of their famous sunsets. The hosts were awesome. Very attentive to every detail and the above and beyond personal touches made us feel right at home there. We even bought one of Frank's unique one-of-a-kind wood working creations as a souvenier of our trip. Thank you Frank and Linda for a wonderful weekend!

This was our 3rd time to visit Second Wind. Frank and Linda are the sweetest people and make you feel like family. If you want to relax, this is your best bet. The view is the best, anytime of day. If you're ready to get away from it all, slow down and enjoy nature, you won't be disappointed. You never know what kind of goodies Linda is going to bake, but whatever it is, it's delicious!

Everything about this stay was absolutely amazing! Frank and Linda were extremely nice and made us feel very welcomed. Frank provided us with bait to fish with that helped us catch an abundance of catfish. Linda is fantastic at gardening and baking, we had home baked goodies waiting on us at arrival. We highly recommend staying here if you have the chance and we are already planning our next visit.

Frank and Linda were the best hosts. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We were welcomed with tasty freshly baked treats and treat bags for our pups too. The bed was so comfortable and the evening views of the sunset from the patio were beautiful. We will definitely be back. This was a last minute getaway and I’m so glad we found it.

What an amazing time we had here at “Second Wind!” Such a beautiful scenery with beautiful, breathtaking sunsets. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire-pit with plenty of available wood to burn. The host Frank and Linda was very accommodating in every way. Linda made wonderful treats in which we sure enjoyed. So sweet and very good!
Had a great time fishing and kayaking even.
The bed and fully remote controlled recliners were very comfortable and so relaxing.
Looking forward to coming back another time.

Frank and Linda were wonderful hosts, & the property itself was picturesque and exactly what my partner and I were looking for. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the patio before kayaking then getting dressed and heading into Jefferson to explore the town. We would definitely stay here again!

Linda and Frank have created a special place. Driving through the area you smell the pine trees coming in and when you get to "Second Wind" you find a studio on a hill overlooking the lake. They have put a lot of attention to detail and thoughtfulness in the experience. They are both incredibly warm and welcoming people and it's clear they care for their guests and each other. I will definitely return. Thank you both!

First things first, the owners of The Second Wind are awesome! Frank and Linda were super welcoming, super friendly, and you can tell they just want their guests to have a good time. They were very accomodating, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The cabin was clean, well decorated, and the property was awesome! Dock and shoreline access with AWESOME fishing, and if you feel like getting on the water, Frank and Linda have kayaks! Long story short, go stay here! You wont regret it.

Our hosts Frank and Linda are a delightful couple as we’re the delicious muffins and cookies . We had everything you would expect at a nice hotel including coffee for the Kuerig . Absolutely lovely cabin inside and out . It’s right at the waters edge and there are kayaks and a dock you can use . Nearby Lake House restaurant was very good . Just a 8-10 minute drive . I wish we could have stayed longer and hope to come back again - Mike and Pam

Our quiet restful vacation was just that, “A Second Wind.” We were welcomed by the kindest people on the face of this earth, Frank and Linda. The smiles on their faces when we arrived was as large as our get-a-way smiles were. The cabin was fantastic, beautiful, and extremely clean. My eyes about popped out of my head and my tummy was yelling “oh boy,” there was homemade chocolate chip cookies, banana nut muffins, and baklava. Did I mention all this was made from scratch and love?
Frank and Linda are rare jewels straight from heaven. I am 62 years old and have never come home from a trip rested and already wanting to go back. This trip has reminded me of the simple days, the days that mankind has forgotten with all the traffic, hustle and bustle of running around, taking care of people, working, etc. If we could only get back to loving our neighbor and basking in the quietness, stillness, beauty of God’s nature. The wind blowing through the tall, tall trees was absolutely breathtaking.
While on the back patio facing such beautiful scenery and gorgeous water; I saw three baby deer’s frolicking through the trees. This trip has engraved the longing of new fresh days with less hustle and more rest and relaxation.
The log cabin was gorgeous, and every little detail is built with love from Frank and Linda. And, the view is unbelievable. Also, some of Frank’s own pieces he carves out of wood and are beautiful to buy. Bring cash, if you would like to buy something hand made!

By far the most Pleasant stay of all the weekend getaways I have experienced. Mrs Linda and Frank are Best. The Ccokies and muffins are 5 star quality that awaits you upon arrival. Million dollar lake front view and the wildlife is Gods gift to all that is fortunate to witness. Will be returning in the near future and I highly recommend this hidden gem at the Lake O Pines. May God continues his Blessings upon Linda and Frank and do yourself a favor and make plans for your next getaway 🙏

My husband and I needed to get totally away for a few days. The property was everything it said and then some. We will definitely put this on our return list. Even got to do some kayaking for the first time. I'd love to come back in cooler weather so I can enjoy the firepit. For this time, sitting on the deck in the morning listening to the lake sounds, drinking my coffee was heaven. Frank and Linda were wonderful.

I visited with my spouse and dog. Hosts have gone above and beyond for the property. You are about 15-20 minutes min. from restaurants and grocers, so plan ahead, but hosts have you covered for the basics; salt, pepper, ice, kitchenware... and then some not-so-basics, like popcorn with different flavoring shakers, butter, sodas. Even the dog wasn't left out- Frank came back with a treat bag! You won't need sweets- Linda's baking is stellar and I already miss it.
They provide the basic hotel amenities and then some- there was good lotion, which I had forgotten and was very grateful for.
Firepit has plenty of wood (though it wasn't covered when we were there, so if you are there during a rainy time you may want a backup.) The combination of the grill and firepit is a real bonus. They keep all the grilling kit clean/bagged.
The AC and fan are sufficient, there's a patio fan as well and the patio and furniture is kept very clean.
There are 2 stable, standard kayaks with lifevests and they really made the trip for me. Lakefront and lake kept clean- the best part of the place.
Bring cash if you like wood art- there's plenty, reasonably priced.
Cabin accessible; there are wheelchair ramps and paving to the patio (but the lake is too far/on public land for that.)
Fantastic for those seeking a tame outdoor retreat (with wi-fi, no TV). Kind hosts definitely want you to relax and enjoy your stay and check in to make sure you have what you need without being intrusive.

Communication with the property owners was extremely open and fluid. The stay did not turn out as we had planned but that was due to sever inclement weather that caused major power outages etc.. After seeing the property we do intend to book it again.

The sign in the front yard of the cabin says it all. We are retired but busy folks and we simply wanted to get away for a quick but relaxing stay. The Second Wind was exactly that for us. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t use it for several days. The hosts were attentive to our every need and sat on the porch with us to visit just as if we were long-time neighborhood friends. Everything about our ‘little get-away trip” was just what we needed and the time we had looked forward to.

If you are on the fence about visiting, do yourself a favor and book it! Frank and Linda are fantastic hosts. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed including fresh delicious baked goodies. The back patio view is stunning. It was a much needed quiet, peaceful, and relaxing weekend. we even caught some catfish and cooked them up on the grill. They did a beautiful job building the cabin. The wood work is exquisite and the bed was so comfy! We are already planning our next visit!

We were warmly welcomed by the owner. We found multiple surprises for us to enjoy. Fresh baked delights, fresh fruit and gift bags were for our taking. Area was very quiet and peaceful. We could’ve fished if we had wanted. Wonderful place to sit back and relax. Don’t expect to watch tv. There isn’t one!
