Likes: Good location, comfortable bed, most utilities work well (except washer/drier), lots of hangers, grocery bags, paper supplies, lights, internet connection
Needs work: parking location on gravel - needs more gravel or paving; path to basement door is through uncut grass; inside steps are unpainted; shower head needs adjusting; conditioner pump clogged; pots and pans not properly clean; one stove burner not level (glass pots slide off); filter for kitchen sink sprays sideways on high flow.
Terrible: communication. Starting with booking, an involved procedure with invasive ID requirement and inconveniently late access instructions - provided over internet while I was travelling. No instructions on emergency contact or procedures. The fire alarm went off at 11 pm on my second night (set off by upstairs tenants, I assume). No instructions on what to do, e.g. how to turn off the alarm if there was no fire. No instructions on how to stop a beep every minute after the alarm went off - it turned out to be a low battery! No spare batteries available (if I had known that was the issue). After that, the owner provided a phone number for 'emergencies' but - guess what - no response after hours, only a recorded message saying 'we'll get back to you'. When? Several hours later, by email. I miscalculated my stay and was locked out on what I thought was my last night. It took 12 hours, and a visit to the property when by chance the cleaner was there, to collect my luggage. etc!!

The basement apartment was too cold and too noisy (appliances).

It was a side entry unit, and after a snowy day, the pathway to the door hadnt been cleared at all which made for a sketchy walking situation.
There was hair in the shower drains, and someone elses socks under the bed. Perhaps had not been cleaned after the previous stay. It was also quite cold and drafty from the door, so was grateful for a small portable heating unit.

Generally very positive experience. Would have been more helpful to receive checkin procedures earlier.
A blind on small window in kitchen area would have been nice as light in morning still comes in. Also could not find hair dryer and a bath mat. Small things which would have been nice. Price was right and enjoyed our stay. Would book there again.

Had very few issues throughout my stay. The property was clean and there was minimal noise or interference from upstairs or outside. Calm, quiet neighbourhood and host was very responsive and well mannered.
