Completely renovated 850 sqft, open floor plan, 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage. 350ft from Houghton Lake with road end lake access. Paved driveway for safe storage for your boat, UTV's, ATV's, or snowmobile's. Public beach only a few blocks away. Public boat launch and public golf courses within 5 minutes drive, disc golf only a mile to the west within community park. Great ATV/UTV and snowmobile trails just minutes away.

We love staying here! This is probably the 4th or 5th time booking this home. It’s perfect, especially if you have fur babies. It’s so nice to have a fenced in yard. Perfect for people with side by sides. You can get to all the trails right from the house. We will be back!

Perfect little house for our weekend getaway. House was exactly as pictured and provided a cozy environment. It is conveniently located near a few restaurants and bars as well. Communication with owner was easy and he was very responsive. Overall a great stay, we would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nice little cottage for the family to stay in. We are a family of 5 and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and is well kept. The owners definitely take care of the place and provided everything and more for their guests. Would recommend staying here. I personally didn’t care for the town but that is no fault of the owners.

We had the best time enjoying the beautiful fall colors and wonderful weather for our annual ladies weekend together! The house was perfect and clean and close to town for us to enjoy the restaurants and bars. We walked down to the water each morning to enjoy the beauty. This is our second time renting this property this year. The Houghton Lake area has so much to offer and the location of this property is perfect. Near the water and not far from town or trails, we find this property to be very convenient. The property owner is great to work with and always very timely on the rental processes. The house is very nice. Much bigger inside than it looks. Plenty of room for all with two bedrooms for a total of six beds. The backyard offers some privacy with fencing all around, nice fire pit and newly added lighting. If you are visiting the area to do some trail riding, water sports or simply to enjoy the town…you can’t go wrong with this property. We will be back.

This place had everything you need and some extras. The home was very comfortable and the backyard is a great space for relaxing in the evenings. Loved that there was a doggie door and a fenced in back yard! Location was great too!

This cottage is entirely renovated and did so an amazing way to maximize the small space! I stayed with my spouse and 2 toddlers, but considering it again for a girls weekend with 5 adults, which would still be enough space. They allow dogs which fit what we needed and was still very clean! I loved the outdoor space with a hammock, fire pit with plenty of chairs and patio set. The outdoor lighting completed the space perfectly. The location is can't beat! Short walk to neighborhood park with playground equipment and a beach. Short drive to restaurants and other park/beaches. Close proximity to save a lot and 10 min drive to wal mart. Appreciated the supplied cleaning supplies, trash bags, hand soaps, etc. I loved the rain shower! No bathtub for toddlers but they loved the shower as much as i did! Jonathan was quick to respond to questions! I would recommend 100%

Relaxing with a great lake access location
This place had the best location. Just down the street was access to the lake. Sometimes the neighbors near the access can be unfriendly but these people were great, even offering to let our 2 year old daughter play with their grandkids on the sand they brought in. As for the property it is just down the road from Houghton Lake, where the lake access is and you can see it from the front yard and only 15 minutes from Higgins Lake. We brought our boat and put in in both Houghton and Higgins Lake (much clearer). Plenty of room to park the boat in the driveway. We loved the dog door to the fenced back yard. It was just like home for our dogs since we have one at home too. Very pet friendly and easy to watch our toddler without her running off. The home is newly remodeled and very beautiful. My mother loved how well stocked the kitchen was with anything you could need. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a nice quiet place in the area.

The perfect place to stay.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Jonathan's cottage. It was just what I had hoped for, very quiet, clean and close to a beautiful little public beach. Jonathan thought of everything to make our stay cozy and comfortable. If you have any questions, he responds very quickly. Don't hesitate to rent this beautiful cottage, you will be happy you did!

Cozy Cottage w/ a Short Stroll to the water
We loved Jon’s spot. It was a great little cottage for our family to stay. A fenced in backyard with a flattop grill and hammock provided a great spot for us to relax. There’s a neighborhood boat launch at the end of the road (visible from the front yard) and lots of great spots and stores within a short driving distance.
The inside of the house is nicely redone and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals at home.
Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and great space to park trucks and trailers.
Jon was accommodating and communicative.

Quiet and Cozy
This little house was a gem! Very clean and comfortable. Easy to get to and the fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog. Not too many places allow for pets. Very quiet and convenient. It's small but the 2nd bedroom has bunkbeds. The weather didn't cooperate but that's Michigan. If you have a pet and are looking for a nice little quaint place to stay, this is it. Jon was very helpful and we hope he will welcome us back.

Great Place. Highly Recommend
This place was great. Looking at the photos it might seem small at first but it is actually a lot more roomy than it looks. There was three of us and we had more than enough room. Even if we had 7 people, there was still enough room. It was really nice having a firepit and outdoor seating. It is located just off the lake, and is close to food downtown. It had way more with the place than I would have expected such as sunscreen and bug spray.

Great house, great location!
This house was adorable and perfect for our family getaway. We had enough room for 4 adults, 2 teenagers, and two little ones. Kitchen was well-stocked, the backyard was great for the kids to play, and the bathroom was updated and spacious with a rainfall shower. Good location with the lake visible from the front yard, and there was a cute little park with a covered pavilion and a little beach just a few blocks away. The owner was very helpful and responsive, and we’d definitely stay here again.

Houghton lake weekend trip
We made a last minute reservation to this cottage days before our arrival date. When we got there we were in awe on how beautiful this home was. With a pull out couch, two sets of bunk beds and a separate room with a queen bed-sleeping arraignments worked out perfectly. We were able to make cooked meals due to the full kitchen providing everything (besides food) that we needed. There is a boat launch 30 steps down, and a grocery store 3 minutes up the street. The house host was so helpful with any questions we had. I definitely will be returning next summer!
