Eagle’s Rest is a quaint, charming cottage on the water in Jonesport and had everything we needed for a family of 4 during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, including pots/pans, dishes, silverware, spices, coffee maker, oven, stove, and gas grill outside. The beds were comfortable, and the combo of the fans and open windows made it a pleasant sleeping experience. The upstairs bathroom only has a tub, while the main level bath has a (tight) shower. Charlie & Sandy were so responsive to every question we had, and the lobster were enjoyed by all. Great spot to relax & unwind in Jonesport.

Charlie and his family were wonderful! The location was quiet and serene. The deck overlooking the lobster boats in the cove couldn't have been more peaceful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would love to go back.

My family and I were looking for a true down east Maine getaway without dealing with tourist traps and large crowds. This was such a wonderful way to do it. The property is as described. The views and sunsets are picturesque. Sandy and Charlie are incredible people who made our stay perfect.
The town is geographically located near numerous outdoor excursions and hikes. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to others or hopefully go back ourselves. We didn’t want our trip to end! Thanks again Charlie and Sandy!

This residence was very clean and in a very quiet area. It is truly on a working dock for lobsterman which was fun to watch. The owners leave a binder that answers any questions you may have about the property which was great. There is a notebook from previous renters writing about what they experienced in the area. The deck facing the water was amazing and the best part of the day was drinking coffee on it with my wife while watching boats coming and going. We were given fresh lobster from the days catch and taught how to cook them the proper way. It was an exciting experience and they tasted amazing. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of the local blueberry wine which went grate with the lobster.

Such a incredible location and view. We could have spent all our time watching the water and sky from the fabulous, well appointed deck. But the nearby hiking lured us each day to moss carpeted forests and gorgeous shoreline and views. Charlie and Sandy are kind and responsive hosts. The lobsters were the best ever, fresh and tender. We felt a part of the community for a few days. We hope to return.

We spent a great week here and thoroughly enjoyed the place even if the Downeast weather wasn’t always cooperative. The setting is perfect with a large deck overlooking Moosabec Reach that is great for watching all the lobstering activity. House is well appointed with a new Weber gas grill and kitchen has everything you need. Sandy and Charles are Jonesport natives and great friendly hosts who can source all the lobster you need and provide other local advice if needed. Highly recommend this place as a great Maine coastal getaway-we hope to return in the future!

We were looking for a quiet, remote place to stay and this was the spot. Wonderful to be right on the water.

This property is very charming. Small charming 2 BR 2 BA waterfront cottage in jonesport. Very clean with reliable wifi access. Easily sleeps 4. Nice fire pit area near the water. Most toiletries are available but you’ll need to bring your own conditioner and lotion. Owners are very nice and responsive to questions.
Really no restaurant options within a 30 min drive. Grocery options are dismal so you will need to be prepared with your own provisions to stay here. Machias is a little over 30 minutes away but the food is just OK and there are also not many options there as well.

Excellent experience. The only problem was we planned to many activities. We should have taken the time to slow down and enjoyed the property. It is the perfect place to sit and relax and watch the tide come and go instead of run. Quintessential Maine coastal cottage in a typical lobster fishing town.

We could not have asked for a better time at the Eagle's Rest! Our hosts Charlie and Sandy were fantastic - great communication, instructions and very personable (We hope to meet Sandy next time). The cottage was just what we were looking for with a wonderful deck and views for reading, relaxing, barbequing or just watching the lobster boats. The cottage is outfitted with everything you would need for your stay and the kitchen was stocked with any gadget we desired. The location allowed us to visit parks and towns nearby, and even a day trip to Campobello in Canada. We loved the lobsters and hope to return to try the crabs!

Great hosts, fast responses to any questions.
The lobsters were delicious.
Charlie (I didn’t meet him unfortunately!) recommended a nearby park for hiking that was excellent. (Great Wass Island Preserve). We hope to be back!

Charlie and Sandy's Eagles Rest is absolutely wonderful. The house - comfortable, immaculately clean, cozy, fully stocked with everything you may need. The deck and the views are beautiful and also enjoyed the firepit with wood provided. It was great to meet Charlie and look forward to meeting Sandy. Thank you so very much for helping to make Mom's 91st Birthday so special. Oh, and let's not forget the delicious lobsters delivered to our door! It really was a perfectly charmed vacation. We look forward to coming back next year.

PEFEECTLY SUPENDOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can't say enough about the cleanliness of the house and everything in it. IT IS A FULLY STOCKED HOUSE! All you need to bring is your food, beverages, and or coffee (filters are there),
The best part was the hosts....Charley and his wife Sandy are the best people you would EVER want to meet. They would give you the shirts off their backs in January in a snow storm..
You won't find a more peaceful location no matter how hard you try. Jonesport people are the nicest people you ever want to meet.
Lets's not forget about the lobsters and crabs! You can't get them any better then right off the dock and into your pot and then into your belly!
We stayed 16 days and would like to have stayed the entire summer....believe me it IS that nice.
Treat yourselves to the BEST!

Peaceful Getaway
I spent a week over the New Years holiday at the Smith’s cozy cottage. It was a wonderful, peaceful week and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It was icing on the cake when Charles stopped by one afternoon with fresh lobsters for us to have for dinner!

Eagles Rest served us perfectly
Sweet, bright, open, very clean, well-equipped, cozy, comfortable and plenty spacious with large deck and lawn. Perched on a knoll overlooking the bay, harbor, and surrounding islands w/stunning views including sunrise and sunset. Greatly enjoyed the soothing hum of lobster boats and watching their daily activity.
Charles and Sandy, outstanding hosts! ..and the lobsters, a special treat. Thank you!
Our hike at Great Wass Island Preserve was just beautiful. We cannot wait to return.

The house was clean and had everything you could possibly need for the stay. The view from outside and inside the house of the water and the proximity to the water was excellent. The property is truly on the water. The lobster was amazing and Charles even took us out on his boat to pull some lobster traps in what had to be the highlight of the vacation for our kids (and us). This is a great place to relax and watch the tide go in and out for a few days or a few weeks. If you’re looking for the quintessential coastal Maine experience, this is a great one. We’ll try to stay here again, hopefully soon.

Traveling from Wisconsin to Maine for the first time, we did the usual tourist stops in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We finished our trip, not far away, in the quiet relaxing town of Jonesport. The property was very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the views of this lobster fishing port from the large well equipped and furnished deck including new furniture, a new gas grill and steaming pot to cook our fresh crab and lobster. Our hosts, Charlie and Sandy were wonderful. Charlie being a 4th generation lobster fisherman, added greatly to our experience. We were even able to see lobster trapping up close aboard a lobster boat.
This was the most fun and relaxing part of our vacation. We definitely would like to return in the future. We had an amazing time.

What a great place to stay! The cottage was very well appointed, we cooked several meals in the house and we had everything we needed. The cottage has a very Coast of Maine feel with a fabulous deck, great windows, fabulous views of the harbor and a nice campfire area. Our host and hostess were fabulous, answered all our questions and really made us feel right at home. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy the sun on your face, the smell of the salt air, and an eagle flying overhead, this is for you! We hiked several trails while there, but left some time to enjoy the wonderful wrap around deck. I cannot say enough about what a pleasant getaway this was for us.

Amazing views in a relaxed environment
We spent 6 days at the property and enjoyed the views and our super attentive hosts. The invitation to spend a few hours on the lobster boat and watch Charlie and his kids in action was a special treat, not to mention the lobster feast we were able to prepare using some of the freshly caught lobsters.
The house offered fantastic water views from the main living area/kitchen and one of the bedrooms. It is the perfect place to relax, work remotely and enjoy the sea breeze. There is not much to do in Jonesport but it provided a good base to head out and explore Down East, head to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and more..
Since we arrived via plane and rental car, we also appreciated that the house was well equipped with cooking utensils, spices, and other necessities..
It was a great experience that we won't forget quickly!
Thank you Charlie and Sandy.
