We will be back!

We loved everything about our stay. Starting with the small town feel of our drive there. You drive down a beautiful country road before you arrive. The home is very comfortable stocked with every thing you need for you stay. There's plenty of towels, blankets, the kitchen has everything to make a beautiful dinner. The beds were all very comfortable, including the futon. There were plenty of kayaks available, which was great, we took them to one of the springs and we didn't have to pay a rental fee but most importantly everyone with rentals had to return the kayaks by 5pm. We were able to stay longer and enjoy the spring with out all the big crowds. We went for scallop season and brought our flats boat, the drop in rap is conveniently located right next door. The home is also located close to the fresh water springs and the Florida Cracker River side Resort witch had the best breakfast. We felt at home here. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home.

Property was located in a wooded and extremely quiet area. Grass was a little overgrown which prevented use of outdoor areas other than the porch. Home was clean and had just about every cooking utensil you could imagine. Shallow waterways lead to us having to rent a marina slip for our boat to avoid hitting bottom. Perfect location for flat bottom boats that don't necessarily have that worry. Owner was responsive and easily reached.
4.7
We were so close to the boat ramp, which made it easy to pull the boat in and out of the water as needed. The house was the perfect size for all our guests, we loved the yard and deck for hanging, and it's just what we'd hoped for during our stay in Homosassa!

The canal was dirty, the dock was missing boards, the key box was hard to open, the grass was not mowed, the house was nice but the ice maker was broken, windows were dirty, the coffee maker was broken, there was a boat ramp 1 house down and that was great if you have a boat.
You can not contact the owner by phone only by email, I couldn't get the key box to open so I called and left a message and he still has not called me back, I don't like that! I needed help and would have had to wait for him to read an e-mail and email me back.
The house needs an update, furniture and bedding are old.
Overall the price is higher than I would have paid had I looked at the property before booking.
The area is great if you have a boat. It is close to many great restaurants which is a plus.

Perfect location and setting
We visit the area frequently and found this home a perfect match for our needs. Location was great for recreation, shopping and food. The home was clean, comfortable bedding, good AC. Kitchen had all necessary utensils since we like to cook as well as eat out. We all enjoyed the water front and dock and will look forward to visiting again

I hate giving bad reviews but given what we experienced vs. the reviews we read prior to our booking, we were caught off guard upon our arrival and disappointed considering everything. First, when walking up the steps/decking to the front door there was a loose step, the decking was dirty, and there were spider webs everywhere. In general a good sweeping/blowing off would have gone a long way. Same thing with the back screened in porch and back yard/decking. Chairs/seating on back porch were worn out and dirty with dusty cushions. Back screen door was broken and didn’t latch, dock had a board missing, areas of the yard needed to be weedeated/leaves removed. It was grown up and looked snaky in areas, especially for children or pets. Although reviews indicated the rental had all the expected amenities, there were no trash bags, paper towels, etc. Assumption is it’s all there unless told otherwise. Towels were stained and old. The inside was just dirty/no other way to put it. There were bugs in the window seals. It didn’t appear the floor had even been swept. Things looked “cleaned at.” I swept the entire first floor myself and had a pile of dirt and dog hair. The beds didn’t appear to have been changed because there was dog hair on the sheets of all 3 beds and the pillows were dingy and flat. Arm rest covers of furniture were on floor and pillows on floor in bedroom corner. Rugs were covered in pet hair. Bathroom door was damaged/towel hook hanging from the back with screws exposed and the tubs/showers didn’t drain well so you stood in ankle high water while showering. In laundry room, the washer was full of dog hair and before I was willing to wash anything in it I had to run a cycle just to clean it out. As a result the 6 of us spent our first night of vacation at WalMart buying our own sheets, towels, a mattress cover, a shower curtain, and disinfecting spray to do our own cleaning, ran the vacuum, and swept inside and out ourselves. To say I’m irritated given what we payed and the expectation of a nice, relaxing weekend is an understatement. While Matt responded quickly to my initial expressed concern about the seeming lack of cleanliness upon my initial arrival, the more we found the more frustrated we were and just decided to try and make the best of it. The location is ideal and the place could be nice with a deep cleaning and some attention to needed repairs as well as some general updating but was not what was expected.

If you want to be on the water and have a boat this location is ideal. The dock in the back was between 3' and 6' deep during our stay, there is also a public boat ramp within steps of the house. House was clean, beds comfortable, kitchen table is exactly as pictured. The living was not what was pictured but very comfortable with chairs, ottomans, sofa etc. If I had a boat I would go back.

The home and location were perfect! The covered deck let us do lots of fishing and crabbing even during a storm. The home is inviting with plenty of room and all the essentials. We also visited the springs while we were there which was an amazing experience! This is one of our favorite homes.

Very comfortable, Nice location.
This is a nice quiet home.
Pleasant neighbors, across the canal. The fish cleaning station at the dock was a pleasant Suprise and came in handy. Matt was there to answer any questions, just a short text away. We've been doing this for years, and this is one of our favorite stays. Homosassa is rural, But there is a lot of things to do. Will definitely visit again.

Bring your fur babies and boat! Mat was an amazing HOST!
This was our first time visiting the city of Homosassa, FL. Below are the great things about this city, it's people and the home we stayed at: People are all friendly and hospitable.
Mainly Republicans Relaxed and love to have a good time.Weather in late October was PERFECT. Some rain but overall PERFECT.YOU MUST visit Crystal River Kings Bay and swim with the wild and endangered manatees! THIS IS A BUCKET LIST item and it was AMAZING!! Only about 20 minutes from home.Several restaurants to go to of which we many times rode our bicycles to/from the home! No need to drive.Famous MONKEY ISLAND BAR bicycle away from home. Live music and THE BEST PIZZA I have had in a while. Drinks a bit pricey but the food was DELICIOUS. So many restaurants minutes away 10 max. The Tavern, Tango Mango, and CRMUMPS restaurant. Which also has live bands playing. Puplix, Winn Dixie, coffee shops, Post office, all within a few minutes away from home.Medical centers and animal hospitals also short distance. FAMILIES with PETS- THE HOME IS FULLY FENCED! I repeat FULLY FENCED! Our dogs loved being outside more than inside and actually would alert my husband when his fishing rod was being pulled by a fish! The back yard has 2 kayaks and 2 canoes. A deck to fish from and another larger covered deck to also fish from and with a working sink and counter to clean your fish. My husband caught 6 catfish but they were all small and he did the right thing to release them. Two crab cages are left for your use of which my husband caught some blue crabs but again too small and were released.Kayaking is easy access: BACK YARD. If you bring a boat the BOAT RAMP is about 100 feet walk from the front of the home. Some early morning noise on Fri. Sat./Sun many locals use this ramp. Neighbors are nor heard nor seen. Privacy is the best on this house. Home comes with a washer and dryer! Which worked amazingly well! Kitchen has everything you need to cook meals daily. A microwave and two coffee makers . The one room upstairs has access to another small room with a bed. No door at bathroom in between the bathroom and additional space with bed. However there is a door at bathroom leading to larger room. Hence, this could be for small children that might get scarred to sleep in the down stairs room alone. The TV in the upstairs larger room is HUGE and works great with access to NETFLIX and beyond. If you can deal with the boat ramp access this GREAT HOME & GREAT CITY.

Matt was a super host. He responded quickly every time we had a question. The house location was great. It has everything a family needs to go scalloping or fishing. The only thing it needs is a dining room table inside the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The boat ramp is 200 feet from house. The kayaks are a nice addition too. If you have a golf cart, I’d definitely bring it. Thank you Matt! It was a great time shared by all!
