About this house rental
Select any season of the year to spend in picturesque Rockport on the leeward side of oft painted Folly Cove. Enjoy the days of calm seas as much as the days of raging seas in a classic winter Nor'easter from the snug warmth of this newly renovated colonial. With the changing personality of Ipswich Bay in one direction, the serenity of the marsh in another and Halibut Point State Park across the street, what a way to experience the beauty of Cape Ann. Halibut Point is a granite promontory known for its quarries and hiking trails. If you stood in the same spot all day you could see the sun rise and set across Ipswich Bay and the coasts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. From the ground floor foyer, either step onto the marsh view deck or enter the newly renovated and well-appointed open plan kitchen with breakfast bar, sitting area with picture window and half bath. Graceful spiral stairs bring you to the second floor master bedroom with deck, lots of light and exceptional ocean and marsh views.

Great location, nice house but terribly equipped kitchen. Barely had enough plates, utensils , serving bowls and pots and pans to cook and serve a meal for 3. And no microwave!! Who doesn’t supply a microwave to heat up leftovers these days?! The living room chairs are comfortable but are severely worn. There are two nice decks on the house that overlook a beautiful marshland, but the deck furniture is very minimal so it’s hard to enjoy the space. Overall, this property has nice potential but definitely needs some practical, thoughtful touches applied for me to rent here again

Tidy Property next to Halibut Point and Lobster Pool
My sister, my children and I rented the house over the 4th of July weekend this year. We've been to Rockport many times before, and are familiar with the area and neighborhoods. The house is recently renovated, and the washer/dryer still had tags on them, the mattress on the pull out couch in the living room was still wrapped in plastic. Linens and towels were through a laundry service and delivered, but not unpacked or beds made in advance. The house also lacked a dishwasher--none of these things were concerns for us, and the house location and view (you can see the sunset over the water from the top deck) were fabulous. Rockport and Gloucester were easy to travel to from the house, and now that end of the red line is repaired, Rockport is the last stop on the T again, so getting into Boston is easy too!
