About this house rental
Old-school chalet that has been all recently updated. Is definitely more of old-school ski cabin than a McMansion second home. Great views and take advantage of on NPOA resort amenities like gym, lap pool, hot tubs.

Such a perfect quiet neighborhood in between all the Tahoe fun! Easy living on the large deck looking into wooded backyard! Plenty of space for many to come and go to hike and swim!

Our family spent 4 nights at the cabin. It was rustic and charming and located close to the village via a 5 min shuttle drive which also conveniently picked us up from the front of the driveway. We appreciated the firewood available to us to use in the fireplace and enjoyed using the hot tub. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was good. We also enjoyed exploring the back of the property with our 2 dogs!

Nothing fancy for sure, but clean, ample space, and extremely convenient to Northstar. Always hot hot tub was great. No complaints.

We had a great stay. Beds were very comfortable! Easy transportation to and from the village

Not only was the Cabin what we expected, had all the 4 rooms we needed, included a new hot tub, had a super convenient / quick shuttle from the driveway, and was extremely close to Northstar, but Rick is a phenomenal host.
We ended up getting stuck in Tahoe with the large storm bringing 7+ feet of snow and Rick was not only understanding, but let us wait out the storm for an additional two nights without cost so that we knew we could get back home safe.
Rick was communicative, kind, and just generally a great human being. I can't recommend his cabin enough as he makes it a great, comfortable experience for everyone.
If you have the chance, stay here.

Great Spot at Northstar!
The house comfortably fit our group of 8 and having the Northstar shuttle pick up right from the driveway is super convenient. Rick responded quickly and was flexible with checkin time which we really appreciated.

Family Ski Trip
We had a great experience, overall, with good communication with Rick. The cabin was just right for our family group of five. Easy access to and from the slopes each day via the Northstar Shuttle Bus system (there’s an app for that!). The kids enjoyed playing in the snow around the cabin when they weren’t on the slopes. We’ll absolutely rent again.

This house was perfect for what we needed this weekend. We had a large group of 10 (plus a dog) and plenty of comfortable beds. We were able to take advantage of the resort amenities that come with the reservation. The location is nice quiet and very wooded (we saw a bear walk through the woods which was a treat for everyone!) but a quick drive to King's Beach. The owner is local and very responsive with our questions! The house could use a few cosmetic updates but I know they are in the process of updating so anxious to see how it turns out! Will definitely book again!

The owner Armando super helpful and great communication. Pros: location, pet friendly, updated appliances and bathrooms. Wood stove and plenty of wood , games, whole house fan (no AC) , other useful items such as BBQ, couple lawn chairs etc. I read this in the ad: "Not a luxury second-home as much as 1973 ski chalet with updated kitchen and appliances." So what we expected was a place on the rustic side, not a fully modern townhouse or condo. But to be fair, I think even with that description , there were some things that need to be disclosed in the description: paint dripped/ dried on dining room floor, stained carpets (really stained) , and yes I expect some, since it's pet friendly, but this was a lot. What really concerned me was boards on both front entrance and porch that are creaking and lifting, enough that you wondered if you would end up breaking through. Other areas were unfinished carpentry etc. throughout the house. Not dangerous per say, but just noticeably unfinished. No curtains in the upstairs bedroom which left open a full view to 2 other neighbors. And Armando was great though, since he came and took care of those right away and installed one curtain. This might be a square footage formula thing, but I really cannot see the place accommodating 10 people comfortably either. The price is lower than some other properties which we greatly appreciated. And again, Armando was super friendly and helpful. But I think the items I mentioned should be honestly spelled out in the ad or taken care of.

Perfect for our Group
Location was important for us this trip because of the snow so having access to the Northstar Transportation Shuttle was fantastic! We were able to call and jump on whenever (right at the end of our driveway!) and they were so FAST and courteous! Grabbed takeout and brought it back and also perfect on our ski day! Very cozy for a winter getaway and in addition to a wood-burning stove, there was an electric furnace. Plenty of bed space. Teens had a blast playing out in the snow in the huge meadow around the chalet. There were some nice, unenexpcted items left for us in the fridge that included chocolate milk, seltzer, ice cream and even a bottle of wine! We will go back and looking forward to the improvements they plan on making which includes a hot tub! Manager/owner communicated well and was very accommodating!

This cabin suited our needs perfectly. They’re in the process of updating it but for us it was great as-is! The backyard was so fantastic, kids went sledding down a nearby hill most of each day. The location can’t be beat, we will be back!

A great start to our thanksgiving break!
We had a fantastic stay and were greeted with a roaring fire and very clean and comfy cabin. Kids enjoyed going outside and playing in the snow in the open space beside the cabin. We loved the convenience of getting picked up by the shuttle to the village!

Great
My family stayed at Rick's house for a long weekend, and this was a perfect place for all three generations. Great for families with kids as it's very functional, warm and clean. Excellent location (no issues at all with a shuttle that takes you right to the main drop off point at the ski resort in about five minutes). Rick has been fully reachable and very responsive before and throughout our stay. We actually got snowed in and Rick was a very gracious host.

Great place, close to everything
We went up for a ski weekend to celebrate my young daughters birthday and had a wonderful time. The cabin was nicely appointed, and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed the quick access to Northstar, and close proximity to Truckee. The owners were very responsive and helpful. we are looking forward to our next weekend at the cabin.
