This was a big house with more than enough space for the six adults in our group. We especially loved the pool and hot tub, and we could see hummingbirds from the back porch in the morning. Table tennis was a hit with some people in our group as well, and the food at the restaurant on the property was good. The listing description is generally accurate, and we'd happily stay here again. But the house could use a little TLC (minor repairs) in places, and some brighter lighting, and the kitchen isn't especially well equipped (but we're a family that likes to cook in).

We were looking to stay in the La Fortuna area and stayed at the property from 5/24 - 5/27 with a family of six because of it's unique location and layout. It was a perfect spot to hang out between excursions to the Arenal Waterfall and surrounding natural spots. The property is expansive and has wonderful meticulate landscaping. Lots of birds and wildlife all around. There is even a creek that runs through the property with trails for evening or morning walks. You truly feel like you're in the jungle. We spent most of our time in the upper pool, which was the perfect temperature for soaking through the jungle heat. Can't say enough about the pool! Each room has air conditioning, which provides relief from the sometimes intense heat and humidity outside. Be sure to watch the video Danny provided to access the property, as it's tucked behind a restaurant and a little tricky to find. The roads are a little scary to navigate and the place comes up on you fast. Also, we ate at the restaurant next door one evening and the food was excellent and much cheaper than tourist locations in La Fortuna. In retrospect, we should have eaten there each night. It's a great spot for a family, with the pool table and ping pong table on the patio. It's off the beaten path a little, but that was exactly what we were looking for.
*Note: If you are coming from Liberia at night, consider driving the route that does not go around Lake Arenal as the road is narrow, and very windy.

This is an outstanding place to stay. Everything was very clean, and the place is as advertised. There are 2 rooms on the bottom floor (with their own bathrooms). This area was great to give our teens some of their "own" space. We had 2 families with us, and there was plenty of space / beds for everyone. The pools were terrific (there is a newer infinity pool, kid pool and hot tub) - all were great to have right there at the house. Then there is a larger, shared pool that is down below (a little walk away). Danny was very responsive to any of our questions. We utilized Antioneta to help us book some of the excursions. She was TERRIFIC and is very connected. She was able to set up some outstanding excursions. Everyone was very happy with all of them (hikes, hanging bridges, hot springs, zip lining, white water rafting, canyoning). Also, the restaurant right next door was very good (some of the best chicken we have had), and they would bring our orders right to the house. We also had a private chef come in and prepare a meal one evening (Antonieta set that up). I would highly recommend this property. Thank you, Danny and Antonieta!!

We stayed with our family friends. It is a nice place to hang out with big group.
The description of the property can be updated to state there are bedrooms downstairs. We booked this property thinking it was all in one flloor. It was not an issue but could have been nice.
The communication with property manager throughout our stay was good. He send a video walked of the property and details which was helpful.
The bathroom flooded during our stay on the last night which they could not handled differently but other than that it was good.

We loved staying at Danny's place. The beds were nice. Showers were hot and the hot tub was super nice to come home to each evening. Danny was super responsive when we needed something. Location is good away from the hustle and bustle of la fortuna but it is 15 drive to town just like the listing says.

The property owner was helpful and communicative. Our kids absolutely loved the hot tub and pools. We also appreciated having air conditioning and hot water for showers. It was about 15 minutes from the downtown la Fortuna area. It was only a couple minutes walk to a nearby grocery store and bakery. There’s a restaurant right next door too.

beyond what we expected. usually, people pick best points only in listings, his house and property had it all. the place is tropical and pretty. house was bigger than expected. Host was very friendly, and one night power outage happened the host responded immediately and help notify crews to get us up and running. would recommend this place highly.

Fun place to stay out of the hustle of Fortuna. Hot tub and dipping pool- all outdoor space was magnificent. Watch the toucans fly from tree to tree and the geckos cavort at night!

I considered not booking this place because we ended up only being 8 and it accommodated way more but I kept it and I am so glad I did!
It was clean and the perfect place to hang at the end of a day of touring or early in the morning before you start your day.
The kids enjoyed the river and finding frogs and critters. The pools and Hot tub were enjoyed by kids and adults alike!
Restaurants within walking distance as well as a market and pizzeria. Location was great.
Just a short 15 minute drive to La Fortuna where many of the tours start and works with a local vacation planner to help with the endless things to do there.
Fabulous vacation can not wait to go back!!

Property was great the pools by the house are not pictured and really add value to the unit. Being in town was a huge plus as we could walk to restaurants, markets, and bakeries.

Everything was just like it was mentioned. Very neat property not far from La Fortuna. Really enjoyed our stay. Can't say one bad thing about our stay here.

Highlights are the new private pools and hot tub and the upstairs deck overlooking the gorgeous grounds. House is spacious, and convenient to restaraunts, bank, and stores. Danny was very helpful and gracious. He was readily available and even showed us around the scenic property. There were musty and other odors, opening the house doors and windows helped. The ac in the bedrooms worked great and also helped with this. Big kitchen with plenty of dishes, glasses, etc., could benefit with a couple extras like a toaster and colander. Limited condiments and staple items, but grocery store only a block or two away. Bathrooms had body soap, but no shampoo or conditioner. We may have been able to ask for some, but within our group we had enough to go around. No hot water from sink faucets (apparently not uncommon for Costa Rican homes) so we boiled water for washing dishes. Laundry facilities were helpful to have.

This house was great! It was beautiful and the property it was on was beautiful. The pool is a short walk but it was never a burden. We had 6 adults and 6 kids and there was plenty of space. The river behind the pool was fun to play in and walk along. We liked not staying in La fortuna because the city was so busy and the drive in was about 15 minutes so it was perfect. The music at the bar below was never a problem. And the food at all the sodas and the restaurant above was amazing. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Would definitely recommend this place!

Wonderful stay in La Fortuna
Myself and 9 of my family stayed at this wonderful home for a few days while visiting La Fortuna. The place was perfect for us! The house manager was very responsive and I would certainly recommend staying here.

Close to Arenal
House is very spacious and has plenty to do on site with ping pong, pool table, pool and creek side. There is s restaurant above the house that has great food and a soda at the bottom near the pool for a beverage.

Chachagua
We had a great time at the home. We used it as mostly a base camp to explore the area. The restaurant in front of the home was great. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating!

Great property!
The house fit our needs perfectly and Danny was very accommodating! We saw poison dart frogs and a sloth on the property which was cool! We loved going down the path to the pool. We also liked being outside of the "touristyness" of La Fortuna. Everyone in town was super friendly!

Spacious Gem of the beaten path
Don't think twice! This home is really as big and spacious as it looks in the pictures. Note that the pool is a little walk away from the home, but flawlessly maintained and in the middle of a nature walk! The river rushes right next to the pool, and the hillside gardens are gorgeous. Our family of five loved this place! Be aware that is close enough to the road to hear some traffic, and close enough to a disco to hear their music at bedtime (ours was early).
All the tourist activities are easily accessible if you have your own vehicle (recommended) and we did hiking, hot springs, ziplining, tubing, and souvenir shopping!
Restaurant right in the front of the property (same owner) is clean, delicious and economical. The mini super, meat shop and vegetable stands are right next door.
We miss it already! Thanks Danny!

Gorgeous views and lots of space
I recommend this property but there are a few details that you should know before booking. First the positive: The place is very large and the AC is great in the bedrooms. The views out the back of the house towards the river are beautiful. The ping pong table and pool table got lots of use by my family. The stuff we wish we knew: the house is directly behind a restaurant that is on a major road. The good thing about this is that you have great food a few steps from the front door. The bad is the noise from both the restaurant and the road. There is also a bar beside the rear of the property that had loud music playing 2 of the nights we stayed but it did not go past 11-11:30pm. The pool is a good distance from the house - so far that I had to ask if is part of the property, It is also down a steep hill - set of steps. The good part is that the pool is close to the river where we saw a sloth one day in the trees. Overall we were comfortable with only a couple of "new listing" glitches like needing a wine bottle opener and a propane tank for the bbq. The laundry facility is different but we got the hang of it. Recommendations I have for the owners: need more light in the kitchen, create a guide for details that visitors might not know like how to turn the shower on only a little to get hot water and how best to use the laundry machines. Danny was relatively easy to reach and attentive to our requests and I appreciated his help with our trip. A large group would really enjoy this property.

Excellent experience!
Danny, the host, was nothing less than amazing! The house was so big and beautiful, views of the jungle from all angles! The private pool was perfect at the end of a hot day! There is literally a restaurant in front of the property with the most delicious authentic food. Danny could not have been more helpful, he arranged transportation for us a couple of times, and saved us so much stress. He is great with communication, quick to reply. I can’t speak highly enough of our experience! Can’t wait to visit again! Thank you!
