The house was perfect for our family. Our son and his wife had the downstairs level and my husband and I took the upper level. It is right down the road from the little town. It was a great place to stay for our to short of a visit!

I hate to give a negative review, but I was entertaining two other couples and was embarrassed that I rented such a lousy place. The beds were difficult to sleep in because the mattresses were so soft you would fall into a valley in the center. The fitted sheets kept coming off the corners, making the bed a knotted mess. There were no sandwich plates. If you wanted a clean towel after the first day, you had to wash it yourself. The design of the place was just so user-unfriendly. There is no place to sit down and have a meal together unless sitting on the sofa and holding your plate is your style. Poorly designed kitchen, bathroom. To top it all off, one of my guests woke up with 20 bug bites of some sort. The rental mgmt people are nice but I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Great stay. Good location far enough out but still close enough to town.

Celebrating my son’s birthday and my daughter and son-in-law’s anniversary. We truly enjoyed the cabin and the outdoor space.

The property definitely needed numerous repairs. I hated that I had to waste my vacation time going over everything that needed to be repaired. I felt like this property was a trap to get you to pay for broken things or things that needed to be fixed especially if you purchased insurance. I can say the beds were nice and soft. We have rented many VRBO’s and never had to write a review like this one. BRING your own can opener, and trash bags.

The young lady was great and apologetic, but think you should be able to check in earlier. The place was clean and well managed

It's taken over a month for me to leave a review, I was not going to but decided I would communicate our experience. As a long time VRBO traveler, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. PROS: Ok balcony view and was nice to be away from the town noise and traffic.
Beds were comfortable.
Cons:
• There were no kitchen towels whatsoever to wash and dry dishes. We had to drive back to the reality office to pick up necessary towels for the kitchen.
• After we got back from the 2nd trip to the Realty office, I noticed there were no hot pads for the kitchen.
• I would have expected would have supplied more than salad bowls and dinner plates, some saucers would have been helpful.
• The grill was a mess, it would not light without a lighter and some of the orifices are clogged.
• With a family of 5, we like to eat meals at one table. There is really, no dining table except the 3 seater crammed over by the window upstairs, it’s really intended more for two. Weather permitting, there is the table outside but only had 3 regular metal chairs, would have been helpful to have cushions to sit on; the plastic chairs were okay but one is badly broken and cannot be used.
• The outdoor furniture, cushions need to be replaced, weathered and ripped.
• The outdoor rug is so ripped up, it is a tripping hazard.
• There was also no umbrella for the outdoor dining table as the pictures in the VRBO listing showed.
• There was no hand soap in the kitchen
• The bars of soap for the bathrooms are tiny and would have been nice to at least have a couple left instead of just one.
As a VRBO traveler, you pay good money and should not have to work so hard to cover your tail. We have learned that once we arrive at a rental, that we check for obvious damage concerns so that we are not charged for someone else's damage/negligence. We found 10 issues with this property to include but not limited to: Microwave handle severely broken, the stove top under microwave light was totally out. Badly deteriorating wooden door jam and weather stripping in down stairs master bedroom. At the top of the stairs, two screws sticking up from the wood flooring, would catch someone's foot if they were barefoot. Damage to drywall corners. At the suggestion of the property office we communicated two emails on 8/3 regarding the damage, provided pictures and explained why we were disappointed in this property, included everything above. It's been radio silence, no response.

This was a very nice cabin.
The patio is very nice and spacious, with plenty of seating. There was no umbrella as shown in picture, which would have been nice bc would have allowed to eat outside and make up for small dining area. The view oversees Golden Eagle Lodge. You still have view of mtns. Very quiet and not far from town with vehicle. No fire pit. Beds were comfortable, clean, and there was plenty of bedding and blankets. Well stocked kitchen with nice pans. Appliances worked well. Recommend keyless pad entry instead of actual keys. Keys are just another item to keep up with and not loose. Overall great place and would stay here again!

Major freeze event in Texas and the owner would not allow us to reschedule.
Roads were not possible to travel from texas. We were told by the property manager that the home has trouble staying warm and texas - new mexico was hit by a major freeze. Owner of the property wouldn't allow us to reschedule or refund. I would not recommend staying at these properties to anyone

Review of Aspen Chant Cabin in Red River
We arrived a few days before Christmas 2020, a time when New Mexico was still fairly restricted from COVID-19. Check in was great and we arrived as scheduled. The home was clean and inviting initially and then we began to discover things. It was very cold in Red River that week and the cabin's heat was insufficient. We tried to be "low maintenance" renters but when it is cold enough outside that you can't go out very much with a 2 year old then you have to be comfortable inside and a lack of properly operating heat was the beginning. There was insufficient lighting as well so much of it was dark (many burned out light bulbs). The coffee maker did not work, the handle on the microwave was broken and we discovered electrical wires sticking out of now wall- definitely not good with an active and inquisitive 2 year old. The local management staff was very responsive and available (thank you Brittany) and brought supplemental heaters and lamps fairly quickly so we were grateful. However, it was obvious that the house had not been inspected critically and it was tired and needed TLC. We were disappointed in this rental more than any other we have used through VRBO.

Great cabin with a beautiful deck
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a very nice and clean cabin. The deck was very nice to have and we enjoyed quite a few mornings and evenings on it. The weather was a little warm when we visited so it would have been nice to have a couple of oscillating fans to help cool the rooms. We kept the windows open all night so that helped cool the rooms as well. The master bedroom mattress upstairs needs to be replaced. You can visibly see and feel the mattress has large dips that has developed over time. I gave a 4 star review for the property manager because she started off very communicative but when we let her know the gas grill needed more propane, she never responded back. She was great to work with but the lack of communication later on was a little disappointing. Overall, we would highly recommend this cabin and will likely stay here again.

Ambiance of a bachelor pad!
Nothing fancy about this place. Not much in the way of extras but enough to do what you need if you pack for it. We extended our stay for two more nights since we were already there but if you are clean freak this is not the place for you. I requested a vacuum so that I could clean the rug in the front room, lights were burnt out, the non-carpeted floors were filthy and the washer and dryer were downright disgustingly dirty. But!!! It is in a great location, walked to main street one day and just a short ride to the slopes.

Great parking space for all the ATV trailers!
Close to the Goose Lake trail head. Great place to stay if you are bringing trailers with toys! We easily parked two vehicles with trailers and kept the Razors unloaded our whole stay. Very quiet street, we did not worry about anything going missing. Easiest check-in and Mari was available throughout our stay!

The cabin was nice and fit our needs.
We enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was nice and clean. The deck area was a great place to sit in both the morning and evening to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There were 4 of us and we had more than enough room. Beds were comfortable.
