About this chalet rental
Sitting on an acre, at the peak (3200 feet) of the private gated community of Pine Mountain Lake, views all around and no immediate neighbors, this house is a wonderful place to bring your family, friends and puppies. Completely remodeled, the house has new flooring, paint, kitchen appliances, mattresses, furniture, windows, blinds and a hot-tub.
Best of all, this chalet is about as close to the North Entrance of Yosemite that you can get at only 23 miles, while still enjoying a grocer, restaurants, and more.
Sit outside on the 1000 sf deck and watch the sunset. Enjoy the deer and humming birds while soaking in the hot-tub. You will be in a private, gated community 23 miles from Yosemite National Park and minutes from our Golf Course, Private Lake Beaches, Hiking Trails, Pool and more.
There are three bedrooms and two baths (one on each level), two guest bedrooms downstairs and a huge master bedroom upstairs. All bedrooms and the open concept living area have cable and brand new 55 inch + Smart TVs so that you can watch your programs on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.
The house is equipped with high-speed Free WiFi and because it is on the very top of the area at 3200 feet, most Verizon phones will have full bars/reception.
The house has three thru-wall A/C units that can chill the house on even the hottest days with an enormous vaulted ceiling fan, as well as base board heaters, nice wood remote heaters for the bedrooms and of course a wood-burning fireplace and plenty of wood.
All beds have new memory foam mattresses, new high quality linens and pillows. There are plenty of thick new towels as well as four white cotton bath robes.
There is also laundry, a stainless steel grill, closet full of necessities such as over the counter standards like aspirin and toiletries such as tampons, Q-Tips, etc.
****Things to know:
The front gate may charge $41 per car for vacation renters. This is a one time fee and comes with access to the private community's many amenities: Lake beaches, pool, and much more.
You will have lake and beach access, but can't put your own boat on the lake (only homeowners). However, there are many beautiful Northern California lakes very close by for boating.
Come stay at the Manzanita House; we are sure you will enjoy it!

This was a great place to stay and head out to explore the park. We were busy at Yosemite, so didn't spend a lot of time during the day. We enjoyed the lake one day, the hot tub, and the pine lake grille - excellent! Thanks for the good stay!!

We had a pleasant stay at this quaint cabin. The necessities were available and the host was easy to communicate with. She even accommodated an early check-in since we arrived in the area earlier than expected.

The property, as a whole, was very nice. It was private and quiet. The location is very good if you are there to go to Yosemite (about a 45-60 minute drive to the valley). Groveland is nice, but touristy and the Mar Val is a decent grocery store, regardless of the size. It was the little things that bothered us. One was the multitude of outlets that didn't work. The other was finding the right light switch. At least one tv was missing a remote. The dining room light has a lot of bulbs, none of which are LED, so it puts off a lot of heat. The beds were comfortable, but there was no light sheet option so it was easy to get too warm. There were plenty of wine glasses, but very few regular glasses. And the kitchen cabinets and drawers really need a remodeling. It was fine that we had to pay to get in the community, though we never had time to use any of the amenities. Though, I didn't like having to check in at the main gate every time. If I could, I'd say overall it was 4.5 stars because most of the little things were annoyances and not deal breakers.

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was in the mid 90's when we arrived, and the AC was on and it was nice and cold in the house. The house was the perfect size for 4 people. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, and pans. They also have a cabinet full of spices, which was really convenient as we cooked most of our meals.
They have a really nice hot tub that actually gets hot. Check the temperature well before you want to go in - we had to let it cool off before using it. There's a full set of stairs on the outside, so it's easy to get in and out of the hot tub.
The Pine Mountain Lake Community is pretty big - this house is close to the main entrance, which was really nice. Once you find it, it's easy to remember where the house is when leaving and coming back. Definitely follow the directions that are sent when trying to find it -it's easy to miss the first time. The gate charged us $46 for our vehicle for our entire stay, but the host disclosed that in her listing so we knew it was coming. We only stayed for 2 nights, but if you are staying longer you can take advantage if all the amenities the community offers.
Thanks for hosting us - I plan on coming back in the winter and enjoying the cabin and hot tub when its cold outside!

We had a wonderful time at the Manzanita House. My wife and two daughters (9 & 6) loved the house. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Mou was great, and was super responsive. We were looking to go to the snow and Mou gave us a few options. While there wasn't snow at the property while we were there we managed to find some sledding and loved being able to come back and relax in the hot tub. We had a really pleasurable experience and would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately, certain circuits went out during our second night there. This affected the kitchen, living room, and one bedroom. When we woke up the next morning and discovered what happened, we communicated this to her. It was a holiday weekend so understandably, it was difficult to address. Despite a repair man coming, the problem wasn’t able to be resolved so we spent the night using lanterns. However the biggest issue for me was the manner of communication, which was not cordial and implied my friends and I were somehow responsible for what appeared to be a wiring issue. She was defensive and unaccommodating. We won’t be back. I hope the problem was resolved, but mostly, that the host learns a better way to communicate with guests.

The driveway can be a little steep but it was no issue as we have a truck. The location is safe and private. There was a welcome card and some wine. Everything was labeled and stocked well. Me and my partner made full use of the hot tub. The experience of this stay was calm and relaxing. The hosts were readily available for help. I would definitely book again!

Ample parking off the street. Very good AC throughput the house. Comfortable beds. Very large deck perfect for everyone to eat outside in the summer. Everything is well maintained and the entire house has very nice finishing touches. Close to Pine Mountain Lake and plenty of other activities. Mou was a perfect host and was very responsive and helpful. We’ll look to stay here again next time.

Excellent Stay
Fantastic experience, one of the best vacation rentals I have been to (I have been to many). The home was super clean, fully stuffed with gadgets and amenities. Special mention: the fridge had all kinds of sauces, a full rack of spices on the kitchen, could find Advil too. The hosts have really thought through the needs of the guests. We enjoyed the sunset view from the hot tub and it was exactly how it is represented in the photo in the listing. There are indeed no neighbors around the property and the home is actually one of the topmost points of the community so we enjoyed the excellent views. We had food from the Two Guys Pizza and the Pine Mountain Lake country club and they were both great in service and food quality. The Marvel grocery story is bigger than our local Vons/Ralphs and one can find everything standard. One constructive feedback I want to leave here: the host need to be available on phone (not text) around the time the guests are scheduled to check in. It is not possible to describe a lockbox opening problem over text. And I couldn't appreciate the check in details email being sent the very last day before our trip, it should be shared much earlier, everyone else does so, it helps in planning and it takes away unnecessary stress.

Great for families
The Manzanita House rental was perfect for our family of 5 plus our dog. Plenty of space to gather and spread out throughout the home. More than enough towels, pillows and supplies. The dog bed was a nice surprise. The hot tub was clean. The AC units kept every room cool. All the beds were very comfy. Nicely decorated and plenty of kitchen supplies. We will definitely be back.

Yosemite National Park
I booked a 3 day stay, as a last minute decision with a friend, to hike some trails in Yosemite NP for a birthday celebration. The location was perfect. It was about 30-35 mins to park entrance and not 5 minutes to local grocery store (Mar-Val’s). After hiking 10+ miles a day, the pay off was relaxing in the hot tub. Mou was very response and timely to any requests; before and during the trip. Upon arrival we noticed there was lower water pressure and sent a request to Mou. She responded immediately and had the water pressure fixed within the hour. Amazing communication and a premier host! If you’re looking for a get away in a quiet neighborhood or off to hike Yosemite while still being able to enjoy the amenities of neighborhood, this is the house for you. We’ll definitely stay again if we find ourselves trekking through Yosemite again!

Great house with a great location!
We had such a great stay here! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The hosts were so thoughtful in all the extras they had in the house! We brought our two older pups with us and they loved the extra bed that was provided for them.
The location to Yosemite and downtown was perfect! We didn’t have time to enjoy the lake but, with the price of entrance into the community, you can enjoy the lake and the tennis courts.

Charmingly Dated
Mou was the most helpful and considerate owner I’ve ever encountered. From the instructions and check-in messages, to the lovely bottle of local wine left for us - she really was wonderful and the in-house binder with local Groveland tips was honest and hilarious! We followed several of her suggestions: the local mart, Iron Door Saloon, and other spots, and were not disappointed! The house too was great for our needs. We appreciated the comfortable beds, robes, and nice towels and toiletries for use. Our four-legged family members also appreciated the doggie beds and pet-friendly home. A couple of things to note, however: the fireplace had been used prior to our arrival and the whole house smelled strongly of smoke and required us to air out the home. The light switches are wonky and a little confusing as to what turns on or off what (especially so with the floor heaters). The hottub is small; more than two people make for a tight squeeze. Finally, the house itself is dated and well-loved, but it’s proximity to Yosemite, thoughtful touches from Mou, and the beautiful Manzanita trees and feeling of seclusion make the house a solid choice for families and pets.

Great getaway
This was the perfect spot for our weekend away from the city. The house was well equipped and very cozy. Even our dogs loved being able to lounge and watch out the big sliding doors while we were on the deck. Mou was very responsive and the whole process was easy to navigate.
Extra perks: seeing all the deer from the livingroom while sipping coffee, beautiful sunrise and sunset, easy to use hot tub
We would definitely come back here!

Great place in the mountains
Enjoyed a quiet little getaway with family and friends (party of 6). We were able to have our separate areas yet not be too isolated from each other and enjoy fun, games, and meals together. The hot tub was enjoyable under the Stars for two people at a time to be comfortable. Kitchen was cozy and fully stocked with anything that we may have forgotten. Truly appreciated the communication and accommodation of the owners making sure that our time was enjoyable.

Pet Friendly Super Cute Home
This pet friendly home was a perfect place for our weekend getaway. The owners reached out immediately making me feeling very welcomed, even texting to make sure I got in ok and found everything in order when we arrived. A very clean home that had everything we needed. The property was tucked away and had a great view from the deck. I will defintely return with my family!

Nice peaceful getaway
My husband, 5 year old, and 18 month old stayed here for a weekend trip, and it was a great experience. The property was very pretty, peaceful, quiet, and secluded. The home itself was incredibly well stocked with everything, and location wise was close to lots of great day trips. Mou, the home owner, was incredibly available attentive from the beginning, and made sure all of our needs were met.
One thing to note--the home is in an HOA, and we paid a $45 HOA fee, which allowed access to the pool and lake in the property. Due to the short time of our trip, we didn't get to access those, though I'm sure those would have been very nice as well.
Overall, this was a great trip, and definitely a great place to stay.

Winter break
We've stayed in a lot of vacation houses and really, really liked this one best! Pine Mountain Lake is such a lovely area and the house was just perfect. Everything we needed was available and yet it still felt uncluttered and minimal. We enjoyed my birthday and New Years here and would return again! Thanks, Mou, for a wonderful winter break!

Great Cabin Getaway
The cabin was clean, well equipped and perfectly located for amenities.
Communication with the host was great and very quick, we had a slight issue with a hot tub chlorine float and the host had someone out to look at it within 20 minutes.
The cabin itself is very spacious with 3 large bedrooms and plenty of outdoor deck space too.
It had everything you need, towels, linens, condiments and cookware.
Despite allowing pets the place was in great shape and very clean, you wouldn't know pets had stayed there before.
Overall very enjoyable stay.
