Below standard value for money

Staff was really nice and helpful.

Wellness requires 50€ charge and isn’t superb, there was a bad water odor as well. Bed wasn’t comfortable and the rooms were rather small.

A Pleasant Stay

Staff were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure my family and I had a comfortable stay. They provided a list of recommendations of things to do for rainy days, including a spa offer. The hotel was clean, plenty of amenities and the breakfast spread was good. The location is great, it's a short walk to the sea front and there's a lovely river path nearby. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The only area for improvement I can suggest is having an iron in the room.

Excellent!!

Great location. 5 mins walk from railway station. Excellent selection of food at breakfast, good coffee. Attentive restaurant staff and very helpful, friendly reception staff. Very comfortable bed, quiet room, good shower.

Difficult to think what could have been better.

Wir empfehlen das Hotel gerne weiter und würden es wieder buchen.

Das Hotel ist in einer super Lage, alles sehr gut zu Fuß erreichbar, die Zimmer und Bad sind schön und groß.

Im Bad fehlen Wandhacken und Handtuchhalter Der Kühlschrank im Zimmer ist sehr laut, hat die ganzen Nächte geklopft, hier sollte man den Kühlschrank mal überprüfen lassen. Den Springbrunnen sollte man in der Nacht abstellen, damit man auch mit offenem Fenster schlafen kann.

1. Not value for money. A 5 star hotel should at least have access to a private beach. We were not even advised whether there is a pool, which I doubt exists. 2. The shower had no shelf for shampoo/conditioner/body wash. 3. Complimentary water was placed in the room only once. 4. Breakfast was bland at best. 5. The kettle could not be removed to fill up with water from the tap. 6. The booking venue would not consider cancelling a night, knowing that if we had to leave, they would get the full amount quoted, and they would then let out the room to another customer and still make money. This is not showing any good faith to customers. 7. The toiletries were substandard at best. 8. Compared to a neighbouring 4 star hotel (which had all the facilities, toiletries and amazing customer service, Carrick's pricing is ludicrous for what is provided to customers.

It was lovely however it could be better

I liked that the air on was amazing, staff was friendly and the overall place was genuinely VERY clean.

I didn’t like the breakfast it was very minimal, the short staff, the closing times of the rooftop, the fact we have to wait to ask for someone to go on the rooftop as well. Also I didn’t like the lighting in my room was very low than my friends and families. It felt more like apartments than a hotel. & there is NO balconies so you feel like you can’t feel relax in your room unless you have a private hot tub room which there is only three off in the building.

Very cool stay at the nice concrete bunker!

The location was very nice! Camogli walking streets, restaurants and the beach very at a walking distance. Also the train station was nearby. The hotel was very clean and cool during a heatwave which we enjoyed a lot during our stay.

The staff at the breakfast was unpleasant. They didn't seem to have time to take our orders and forgot to bring our coffee and other items on several mornings. The scrambled eggs were terrible. I didn't feel welcome there at all. We stayed in a round suite and it was like a very nice concrete bunker on the first floor. The view was to the stairs back in the building and to some staff facilities. The room didn't have any natural light and we had to keep the curtains closed due to no privacy. I would expect more from a 5 star hotel's suite! The sea view was accessible only from the rooftop.

Place is new and located in a quite area. Breakfast is very good.

Couple of negative points: room was not freshly cleaned once we entered, it was dusty pretty much everywhere. Cost of garage is never heard of, 50€ per day. Overall I would not call it 5 stars hotel, perhaps a 4 star.

We liked the location of the hotel and the room was nice and clean. The staff on the reception was good and I liked the fact that when we arrived the check in was fast professional and welcoming. I think the person name was Alfredo.

The staff working during breakfast was not so professional. The breakfast is too expensive for what is given. The products are higher quality but there is no so much choice and the coffee is really bad. We also thought that there is a private beach for guests but actually that is not the case. They just have some opportunities to provide a place with umbrella that you need to pay extra on the main beach.

Great location near Camogli beach. Really nice rooftop bar and trendy aesthetic.

NOT a 5-star in terms of service level, comfort, and amenities. Service was curt and not helpful. The “extra bed” was a tiny twin in the room, and the staff did not conduct turn down service in the evening, and in fact said “I’m unable to do it.” I had to ask multiple times for the extra sheets, then the pillows which they forgot - more like a 2-3 star service hotel.

Nice location, 5 minutes from the beach and the restaurants. The room was quite and big.

Honestly, I don’t think that the level is 5 starts. None the facilities, nor the breakfast. The parking costs money (usually in 5 starts hotels, it’s for free). The breakfast wasn’t reach at all. No one said there is an option to order eggs, only when we asked since the breakfast was quite poor.

Great hotel at a good location and very professional staff and service

Friendly and polite staff throughout the hotel. Clean and nicely decorated hotel. Nice tableware used in restaurant and good quality breakfast. The restaurant manager and his team were very professional, attentive and accommodating. Also the hotel location is great.

House keeping can improve as it wasn’t done properly and fully but it was put right after it was mentioned, so all fine.

Nice stay, great location, although sound insulation is not good in the hotel

Very nice breakfast, super-comfortable bed, pleasant and modern bathroom. Within a short walk from the train station, beach and restaurants/shops but at the same time not too close to the busy and noisy part of Camogli. A nice feature is a jacuzzi on the roof with a fantastic view. Beach towels are available at the hotel, and there's a great option of walking/hiking in the hills (strenuous ascends but great views from above) or taking a boat to Punta Chiappa, San Fruttuoso and Portofino. The boat from Camogli to Punta Chiappa was 7 euros per person one way but only available in good weather and goes once an hour (September time table). Great selection of eating places in Camogli, with Genoa reachable by train within 45min (can be faster on certain trains).

The only thing that wasn't great in the hotel was the internal noise - sound insulation is not good for this rather expensive hotel. The windows are good though, even if you are facing the road it doesn't disturb you much, but the sounds inside the hotel travel quite a lot. Particular problem - if you are staying on the top floor (4) - there's a noise (from above) of furniture being dragged along the floor of the roof-top bar and restaurant every now and then (floor 5). It is very unpleasant in the evening when it gets worse around 10pm.

Breakfast was incredible - so many options. It was the best we had anywhere in Italy. There was a beautiful cold buffet and you could also order eggs.

Perfect place

Everything from the main entrance lounge/work out area to the beautiful rooftop bar/hot tub/sundeck and shaded area. Breakfasts are excellent, service outstanding, comfort and cleanliness perfect. Complimentary Prosecco upon arrival as well as complimentary hour in the spa is very classy. Location is great, short walk from train and town centre.

I don't even know what to say. Maybe a soap tray in the shower.

Such a lovely hotel. Absolutely loved rooftop bar & restaurant, had a great time just chilling there with a bottle wine and great views over Camogli. Rooms are clean and spacious, great breakfast, staff is extremely friendly and helpful whether you need to book a restaurant for dinner or just want to have a casual chat. Overall experience is 10/10.
