Location. Price. Was suitable for our needs. Any problems we had were down to me, not checking fine details when booking.
The mattresses on the floor. We're all nearly 70, so I should have read the small print.
The kettle took ages to boil and weighs a ton.
No TV. In lounge area.
Nowhere to hang coats.
Decor is cute but over the top. Twigs over the bed...not for me.
Again, not the hosts fault. We should have checked in more detail.

The decor was cute and quirky, the courtyard with the outside fire was lovely. The BBQ in the secret garden was great. Great supply of games, enjoyed not having a tv - able to really spend family time together. Easy walk into town . Very well stocked kitchen.
Bathroom floor flooded, no table so if weather had not been so good would’ve struggled.

Nice cottage in a good location if you want to base yourself in Bideford.
Didn't feel comfortable parking in road above the cottage it was very narrow for my car and also quite secluded. I parked in council carpark across the road it cost £5 a day and also made it easier to load car. I would definitely pay as there were daily checks done and a few cars had parking fines on them.

The decor was lovely and the cottage was very comfortable
It was quite a walk from the car so unpacking and re-packing was tricky

Well equipped kitchen. Adjacent car park was only £5 per day and this provided excellent access to Bideford and local attractions
We were 5 adults, one with mobility issues. We felt that the accommodation - both bedrooms and lounge - was perhaps suitable for 3 adults and 2 children, but for 5 adults rather tight, and access for the one with mobility issues difficult. Sleep in the attic was also disturbed by the boiler. The interior was not particularly to our taste, although we were amused by the wording of some of the wall plaques and the decoration of the courtyard. We suggest that arrival details should be revised to make it clear that parking in the adjacent quayside car park and unloading from there is recommended with no reference to the potential free car parking above the Tarka Trail. The map we were e-mailed simply confused us and made unloading from the free car parking unnecessarily difficult. Also state that the cottage is not directly on Barnstable St. but up an alleyway from it.

The cottage was very quaint & nicely decorated & fitted out & the large bean bags were a very good idea. Great to have the courtyard at the back & the 'secret garden'. Unfortunately, we couldn't really make use of it all as we were only there for 2 nights to attend a family funeral on this trip. And the wake was at the Royal where a lot of the others were staying so very convenient. But I loved to just sit at night with the fairy lights on which was very peaceful & comforting after the stressful day. The 2 double beds were very comfortable but not so with the 2 singles for my older sons (but are aware now they are meant for children).
We weren't aware that the twin bedded room was an attic room with stairs off one of the doubles & intended for children (which would be perfect for that purpose) but my daughter was in one of the doubles & her 2 brothers upstairs (who both snore!) so wasn't ideal in our situation.
An extra shower room or toilet would have been nice aswell with a few of us but for 2 nights, we managed ok.
The unloading of the car wasn't ideal having to walk up & down the hill to the cottage each time (& our stay was short with no children) but we parked across the road after & were happy to pay. But once inside & settled, the cottage was very homely with a cosy feel & nice atmosphere.

Quiet and cosy with 2 little gardens perfect for our mini break. great choice of board games to borrow and a gorgeous log burner.
kitchen and courtyard had everything you could need even little extras, coffee machine and pizza oven if you wanted to use them.

Quirky little cottage. Clean and comfortable. Great location for Bideford and the Tarka trail.
Nicely equipped kitchen. Two double bedrooms.
Bathroom adequate but very small, floor wet after a shower, maybe a shower curtain would help.?
The stairs to the attic twin room are in one of the double bedrooms and there's no door to separate, okay for children but not really suitable for adults. There's No microwave, so if you're used to using one, you'll need to cook properly 😉.

the dirty ally with mess and noise , not the hosts fault

Lovely quiet location next to Tarka Trail. Comfortable bed, excellent quality furniture and fittings througout. Loved the bean bags. Well equipped, with all the essential items needed for your stay. Well thought out decorated house which enhanced the atmosphere of the cottage. Excellent shower, easy to use. Lovely secret garden opposite cottage.
We unfortunately got absolutely soaked on the Friday. No where to hang four wet coats, possibly a couple of hooks in the bathroom above the bath. The main bedroom could do with a small table style shelf to put things on like your wallet, watch, etc.
