About this house rental
Custom, newly built home right on the water at Lake Wateree. Four private suites, each with their own bathroom, easily accommodate multiple families for graduations, family reunions, holiday gatherings, and summer vacations.
The house boasts more than 2,400 sq ft of indoor space with a high-end kitchen. OMG; 3,000 sq ft of outdoor living (1,000 open to sun; to work on that tan and 2,000 covered space with plenty of comfy seating areas, kitchenette with choice of gas or charcoal grills, refrigerator/freezer, counter top microwave, air fryer/oven, and cook surface). If it’s cool there’s the gas fire pit with 6 swivel club chairs next to kitchenette, in case you need another cold beverage.
Love boating? Easy access from the marina with a deep water (5 feet) private dock right off the main lake. Your water craft protected from rough water due to storms or other boats. Sunbathe on the dock or enjoy a leisurely swim in the protected cove without worrying about wind or wakes.
Have kids? A floating inflatable keeps the kids busy all day, and a downstairs outside bathroom provides easy access without having to chase wet kids through the house. Corn hole and ping pong are available in the outdoor covered space. Jinga, croquette, board games, etc. After dark, cook s'mores in the wood burning fire pit. Cool off in one of the outdoor covered spaces with fans (I can’t do anything for 95-100 F but that’s what’s the lake is for). Morning or evening walks on quiet county road, maybe have a deer counting contest.
If you want to go out, The Retreat at Colonel's Creek is a short boat or car ride away, or head into downtown Camden for antique shopping, fine dining, and more. The Windmill restaurant is 12 minutes for good seafood (fried or grilled). If you can’t relax and maybe gain a little weight then you’re just not trying.

This home is even better in person! The host has thought of everything and it has so many extras. The home feels and looks brand new. Its located in a little cove on the lake so we were able to dock our boat, use the house's kayaks and play on the water trampoline. The host provided pack & play, beach towels, portable speakers, games, stuff for smores, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was amazing!! When I say you only need to pack your clothes and the food you want to prepare, that’s literally all you need! The house has everything you could need or want and more! Exceptionally clean and very well stocked!! The property owners are amazing! Friendly, welcoming, and always just a phone call away for any needs! We can’t wait to stay at the Gray Goose Retreat again!

The property was exceptionally well appointedand very clean. The beds were all very comfortable. The views of Lake Wateree were fantastic from the deck. The ammenities were over the top. Bathrooms for every bedroom; Games like pingpong, cornhole and Board games; both charcoal and gas grills, boat dock, two firepits - one gas the other wood fueled...They provided everything we needed and more. Very nice owner/manager of the property. I highly recommend this property for the perfect get away!

You couldn't ask for a better property or property owner. By far and away the best VRBO experience we have had. You don't need to bring anything but your clothes. Will definitely rent again and recommend to others.

We had a wonderful week at Grey Goose retreat. Mark and Sandy are great hosts and go out of their way to make sure that every aspect of your stay is taken care of. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Everything in this property is top quality. This was a great vacation with our large family. Look forward to booking again.

Beautiful, comfortable, still-new home tucked into a lovely cove on the lake. Although the weather didn't cooperate for our week, we didn't mind the rain as much because we were in such a great house. It has very comfortable furniture, wonderful beds, and a long dining table, where we did a lot of puzzles and games. The layout is perfect for families, and everything you need is on one level. Beneath the house, there's a huge covered outdoor living space, which we could use even in the rain. There's a nice pier and dock, and we got two boats attached easily, even when the water was way down. Lots of nice extras too - cornhole, a floating water slide and trampoline, ping-pong, etc.
We didn't have any problems during our stay, but the owners are super nice and attentive. They checked in to see if we needed anything, and we enjoyed chatting with them about their future plans for the house. Spoiler alert! They're putting in a huge game room with extra sleeping space upstairs. Mark and Sandy clean the home themselves, and it is immaculate! I felt like we were the first people to ever stay there because everything is so well taken care of.
We loved our stay (minus the rain), and I'd highly recommend this property!

Successful stay at this peaceful lake house. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Appreciated all the different places on the property where you could enjoy the scenery and be close with family. Top notch. Owners are accommodating and available if need be. Recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay. Thanks for covering up the firewood on the rainy day that we were gone with the wedding. Enjoyed watching the various birds and kayaking on the lake. Wish all of our family could have made it out there they would have enjoyed it.

Beautiful property with all the amenities. Lots of room, comfortable beds and furnishings, well stocked kitchen for cooking, grills available for use and great areas inside and out to hang out and relax. Loved the view and watching all of the wildlife. Very peaceful and beautiful. Commuted back and forth some to Columbia and found the trip to be quite easy. Will definitely try to make a return trip!!

Outstanding Stay!
Property is practically new and super CLEAN! Nicely appointed with plenty of amenities - including soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. as well as outdoor games, fire pits, kayaks, etc. Location on the lake is good for floating to cool off from the heat. The backyard is spacious with plenty of room to play…and we were worried about the lack of screened porch - but no need! Amazingly, bugs were not an issue at all. Mark and Sandy’s hospitality was fantastic - they took us out on their boat to see the 4th of July fireworks, and were fully available to answer any questions or supply anything else we needed- probably the most ‘full service’ house rental we’ve ever had!

Awesome property
We truly enjoyed our week. The house is in a quiet cove and Lake Wateree is a great lake for boating. It is not an overcrowded lake so you don’t have to worry about a lot of boat traffic. We spent the week boating and floating in the lake which was fantastic since the weather was a little warm!!
Pictures of property are spot on. Mark is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond to be sure everything is perfect. He even had a basket of essential complimentary items in case you fail to pack something.
We rent a house every year for vacation and I think this is the best we have ever stayed in. We will definitely try to return again.

Lake Wateree Paradise
Luxurious home on a beautiful lake. Every feature of the home is new and of an amazing quality. Three if the bedrooms have comfortable king beds and all four bedrooms have a full bath! The high ceilings and large open kitchen/den make for a perfect place to gather inside. Perhaps the best features are the large covered outdoor spaces. The children practically “lived” in the water or the downstairs area, with ping pong and corn hole. Our host, Mark, made everything effortless and perfect. Thank you!
