I rolled the dice and I lost. I knew the place didn't have air conditioning, but I booked it for the July 4th holiday anyway and it was in the low 90's. The upstairs was hot and stuffy, even with the windows open. The main level was ok, but some of the windows didn't open and there were no screens. The basement kept cool. I wish there had been some roll away beds down there. With a warming climate, it might be a consideration.
On the plus side, the location was great, the house was well appointed and decorated. Furniture and beds were comfy.
I would stay here again, but not in the summer.
4.7
The home was OK, cleanliness could be improved. Our biggest problem was the fact that ants covered the upstairs and downstairs bathroom as well as the kitchen. Whenever we sat down on the toilet, they would crawl all over us. The game room and furniture were nice.
4.7
House was full of character and super comfortable. The park and lake across the street made the stay top notch. As my 5 year old said, We want to live in the house forever.
4.7
Highly recommend the home for families with teens and tweens! There was space for all of us to be in our own areas after a day out together. The kids loved the basement rec room and set up their gaming station and played games, watched movies and had plenty of fun with the table tennis. We made many meals in the well appointed kitchen. Sleeping rooms and bathrooms were great. Loved the architecture of the home and the mature green trees surrounding the house. We would definitely recommend!
4.7
Home is fairly standard for Green Lake area, and access to all of Seattle’s attractions is fantastic. Two very small bathrooms and accommodations were tight with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Neither bathroom had ventilation and both had significant ant and moisture problems. Beds were borderline acceptable but could use replacement. Property was noisy during day due to being on busy street and intersection but peaceful at night. We didn’t use the kitchen at all, but did not seem well supplied if you intended to cook during your stay.
Overall we had a good stay, and the great location outweighed mildly disappointing accommodations. Would rent again, but for the price would consider other options first.
4.7
Kitchen was pretty well equipped. We had to disconnect the smoke detector while cooking as it sounded constantly. The ping pong table was a big hit. And we enjoyed the games. Bedding and bedrooms were good.
The main floor bathroom door doesn’t close properly (been repaints many times.) (Many of the doors don’t close properly.) and our 11-year-old kept getting stuck in it! Knobs on upstairs bathroom are loose. The stairs, to the basement with the laundry and ping pong table, are quite hazardous for seniors (door at the top opens inward and blocks the rail.)
The location was great, across from Green Lake it’s park surrounding and 3 mile lakeside trail. And, it’s around the corner from Duke’s! Great fish restaurant. All in all, we really enjoyed the home.

Six of us, ages 71-10, stayed here for 3 days before Christmas. Everything was clean, in working order and comfortable. I’d stay here again if ever in the area.

Loved the house, the neighborhood restaurants, the lake across the street!

Very spacious place with “older house” charm. The kitchen had the basics included and, as a plus, each bedroom had a smart TV. Terrific porch for people watching and, while the basement is a little chilly, it was easy to fix the thermostat to make the house most comfortable. Would highly recommend for families, or friends- any time of year. Oh and their board game collection is on point:)
4.7
Cute little older craftsman house by Green lake. Very close to coffee shops and restaurants. Nice view and trees around. Quirky older home with steep stairs going upstairs to a jack and jill bathroom which was nice for our two kids age 3 and 6. Home could use some remodeling and deep cleaning. Furniture and and bedding were comfortable and clean though.
4.7
This comfortable house is perfectly located across the street from Green Lake and with in walking distance distance from restaurants and a grocery store.
4.7
We really enjoyed our stay at this nice craftsman on the north side of Green lake. Great neighborhood. A bit of an ant problem. But we really enjoyed playing games and running around the lake. And it is a lovely house.

Overall this is a 5 star rating with a responsive and well run management team. My caveat is for those who come during hot months. It's clear from the listing there is no air conditioning. The management team had many fans blowing but when it is global climate change it isn't enough. The ground floor windows mostly do not open and if they do open it's just an inch or so. Some had no screens. Also, when there is smoke in the air, we had hesitancy opening the windows at night to cool down the house. Also, it would be useful if there were a few more cool blankets. The thick comforters are great but only when it is cold. Most of the year this won't be a problem of course.

I expected there would be some other charges above the nightly in the listing, but the addition of a Host Fee, a Service Fee, and tax brought the total to an over 62% increase in the "listed" cost of the rental. Part of this was explained by Vacasa as payment for superb management availability and responsiveness, coupled with "professional housekeeping". As demonstrated below, neither of those justifications proved real or fulfilled.
I should have been alerted to those future failures, when in response to my inquiry as to why our nightly rate was 25% higher than it was for the days before our arrival, Vacasa's representative glibly responded that "rates can shift throughout the day". The pictures of the house on the website, failed to show the following:
Missing whole or partial slats in venetian blinds in the living room and bedroom; main bedroom windows were frozen shut (paint); overflowing trash barrels when we arrived; rheostat dimmer light switch knobs were stripped. There was a room air conditioner in one picture at the house-none there on arrival-no mention of fans. Written questions were never answered prior to arrival. I gave Vacasa a chance to respond to the above before writing this, but all I got back were canned responses (i.e., "we apologize for the inconvenience", we "understand if this matter has been frustrating to you", etc.).

Pretty cool place to stay!

Excellent house and location for families
4.7
We stayed here with our three little boys, it was wonderful being able to walk over to the lake everyday. The house is near two coffee shops, pizza and ice cream. So we had a great time.
A few minor issues not the fault of the house. There’s no way to childproof the backdoor and it opens very easily. My 1 year old was very interested in this. The driveway entrance is older with faded paint and several times people parked there and blocked it, mostly on the weekend.
4.7
Excellent location and such a cute house. Yes, it’s an older house but it has a lot of charm! I personally love old houses so I felt right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
4.7
Was perfect for our family. Lovely old house with all the amenities you need. It was helpful to have the mini soaps and shampoos and the soap and dishwasher tabs for the kitchen. The lake was beautiful and we felt close to everything! Thanks for such a great stay! We will come again.
4.7
My husband and I met our two college kids there for spring break. We all came in from different states for this trip. One of my sons as well as myself had not been to WA so we wanted something in the area of many places. The house was in a great location to venture out from. We were close to Fremont, Cap hill, Seattle, Chinatown, Pike Place, the list goes on. We enjoyed walks around the lake every morning and grabbed coffee at the local coffee shop on the lake. It was just perfect!
4.7
Nice location. Spacious. But guys, I should not have to go and buy toilet paper or paper towels or soap. Anyhow, We left some for the next guests.
4.7
Clean with nice bed linens and lots of towels. Very spacious. Walls have cracks and peeling paint!
4.7
Very comfortable spacious house with lots of amenities, right by the lake with it’s beautiful walking/running trail. Excellent hosts too!
4.7
The house was comfortable, close to restaurants and the lake. It was clean and had everything we were looking for.
4.7
We loved being across from Green Lake and the great trails. The house was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. There are tasty restaurants close by (a bakery with yummy croissants). It’s an older house with some quirky features and we felt very much at home. Check in and entry was easy. And everything was very clean! We would definitely stay here again
4.7
Condition issues limit the rating of this rental to a three. Issues like significant cracks in plaster and paint, worn and torn bedding, broken blinds and a very strong musty odor stop this rental from being great.
4.7
A few issues upon check-in: most of the overhead lights were not functioning due to tripped breaker.
Ants in Kitchen & very little insecticide for an 11 day stay.
A lot of water is wasted before get hot water to upstairs bathroom.
Only a small amount of TP for an 11 day stay with three adults.
No screens in any of the windows, which makes it difficult to cool down the house at night without various insects coming in the house.
Mold on the refrigerator French door seals.
Good location, beautiful tall treea surround the park, several cafes & shops very close by.
4.7
We had a pleasant stay here. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting family in the neighborhood. Proximity to the park is ideal. The house is nice and quiet despite the fact it’s on a busy street. I’m a light sleeper and had no issues.
4.7
House was clean. A charming older home set right on the lake and a beautiful park. Great for walking, great restaurants close by. Host was very responsive. I slept on the twin bed and it was incredibly comfortable. I did hear all the beds were as comfy.
Only 2 miles from the park and ride light rail.
Ping pong table was wonky but functional. Fun little basement game area.
I would definitely return.

Perfect wedding week home
This house was EVERYTHING we could have hoped for and more! I needed a fully equipped kitchen to do some wedding festivities cooking and this was BY FAR the BEST equipped rental kitchen I have ever stayed in. And the rest of the house space inside and outside was inviting comfortable beautifully appointed and had thoughtfully included small amenities of everything we might need or want. It was the perfect gathering place as we ran around preparing for our daughter’s wedding. The only negative was that the downstairs windows in the back bedroom were painted shut and our family wanted some fresh air in the room. We can not wait to come again and plan to spend more time to enjoy this wonderful home and location.

Lakefront craftsmen
Easy access location to downtown trips such as the zoo, space needle, aquarium and science center. Spacious house. Well kept. Lots of character and charm. Easily fit 3 adults and 3 kids. The kids especially loved the foosball and ping pong tables in the basement. Also, the park and lake across the street were great for a walk.

We enjoyed this charming historic home next to the lake. Walking distance to restaurants and an easy drive to other Seattle neighbors makes this a gem.

Beautiful well equipped, clean, comfortable house in an excellent location.
This house was perfect for our group of 7 adults. The house was clean and well cared for. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. We really liked the house and location and would definitely stay again!

Convenient and comfortable Greenlake house
The location can’t be beat. Charming. Well-equipped kitchen. Limited seating in common space. Would appreciate locks on bathroom doors. Upgrade the linens and supply more towels. Nice to have off-street parking. Lots of good TVs.
4.7
Family time at Green Lake - I would actually say a 4.5 star
I enjoyed the house at Green Lake. It is a very nice property in a great location for the lake, University of Washington or downtown Seattle . There are a lot of restaurants close by and the 2.8 mile walk around the lake is perfect for runners or strollers. The house has 2 bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms upstairs. The basement holds a gaming room, and a washer and dryer, which was very convenient with the lake. I was fortunate enough to stay just after they opened the tunnel on Aurora or Hwy 99 and it makes travelling North/South so nice. Avoiding Interstate 5 made travelling to and from Seattle a short trip. It is also just a short trip North to Northgate Mall. There was nothing we needed that was not provided in the property. There are plenty of TVs and the internet was fast and reliable, beds were comfortable and they even provided beach towelsThe only drawbacks to the property were the inside steps are very steep. My adult daughter fell down the basement steps and it's a concrete landing. The off street parking is nice, but it is very tight and the real estate office next door often parks in the maneuvering space. I would definitely stay again if my travels bring me back to Seattle.
