No-bank waterfront is rare, and the deck and patio right on the water take perfect advantage of it. We were delighted to find that there are now plenty of deck chairs. The living areas are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, and the upstairs suite is palatial! (Too bad the other rooms are so pokey by comparison.) Our group of six was very comfortable and we found the cost quite reasonable for a place right on the water.

We spent Labor Day weekend here and absolutely loved it! My kids have requested to make this a yearly trip!

Loved the house, the beach, the location, the kayaks, the starfish & the friendly neighborhood. Hope to stay there again in the near future!

We love the location for crabbing and fishing. The view is spectacular!

Our family loved a fantastic weekend at the Whalehouse, absolutely perfect in every way!

Would have given it a 5 but you really need to have some sort of blinds on the master bedroom. Neighbors can see right in and a bright sun at 5 in the morning. Saw lots of sea animals. Kids enjoyed the beach and such a lovely view.

The property is very well maintained and clean. The mattress of bunk beds are however a little wonky. It would also be nice if we didn't have to get our coffee. Otherwise, we had a great time there and the beach and view is great!

This home was so cozy and calming! We had the best experience and made some amazing memories, we didn’t want to leave!! The views were spectacular and the kitchen and dining spaces were perfect for family dinners. So many things to do in the area we wish we stayed longer to do them all. Book this house!! You won’t regret it!

Kitchen and beach access very nice.

Enjoyed our stay, house was perfect for our needs, thank you.

private, hidden community of longtime beach homes. Beautiful floor-to-ceiling views of the wind-whipped waves. Not enough beach to walk along, due to the king tides and nighttime low tides. House is fine for kids and adults, with a decent kitchen and a huge master suite upstairs.

A great place for a family to go together! We walked, played games, and enjoyed the beautiful views.

Didn't know that there are dolphins around here. They came by at dusk. Just right off the back patio. We also saw quite a few seal. The house is right on the water. It would be good for storm watching. There's a nice little rocky beach at low tide.
Kitchen was pretty well equipped. Very comfortable. Responsive management. I'd stay again for sure.

This home has great supplies for cooking, comfortable beds, plenty of space and the hosts make you feel very welcome. The view is spectacular, and the spirit of the whale house is most peaceful and rejuvenating! Thank you for making this oasis of grace available for renting! We will be back soon! Well laid out for children, and adults. The kitchen has high end appliances and gives great space to cook while many people are present. We saw eagles, sea otters, great blue herons and spectacular sunrises and sunsets!

House is situated right on the water. It was fine for our group of 10. However, it sleeps up to 14 but there is very limited parking, so plan accordingly. A bit more comfy seating would have been nice for a large group.

This vacation rental is absolutely perfect! So many beds for people to sleep in! Great for a family reunion etc! Super clean and couldn't have a better location! Gorgeous views. Saw dolphins, lots of salmon jumping out of the water, and a couple seals. Kitchen is amazing and has all kinds of dishes, cookware and even lots of spices. Thanks for a great place. Memories to last a lifetime

My mother-in-law was absolutely thrilled with our stay at the Whale House. We all had a great time relaxing, playing games, and enjoying being out on the water. Beautiful spot!

Loved the house and the beach, lots of room for our grown kids and our grandchildren. The 2 kayaks were used by all and the kids swam every day. So nice to be able to watch from the deck & patio. Hope to stay at the Whalehouse again next spring or summer!

We were so pleasantly surprised by the space- it’s even more gorgeous in person!
As someone who’s never visited camano island before- I didn’t realize there was absolutely no take out delivery. We ate out at tapped brewery though and it was amazing.

Beautiful location, well appointed, fantastic kitchen, nice bbq grill, as advertised, and as close as you can get to staying on the beach!

Clean and Location was fabulous.
However, 1 ROOM was outside the heating area - and uncomfortable to sleep - also having no instruction to operate appliance was little inconvenient - We were unable to switch on In-Sink-Erator which was a nightmare every time dish washer ran.

This oceanfront house is very clean! Perfect for family. Loved the free provided kayaks, and there were plenty of space for parking. One thing to note was that some of the door knobs were loose. Also no AC in one of the bedroom upstairs which can get really hot so make sure you have the windows open. Also would be nice to have blinds in the master bedroom. Other than that, the house was very nice and would definitely rent it again! Thank you

The 6 bunkbeds is brilliant! It was perfect for our large family! The house and location could not be more perfect, I just wished that the house had a few logs for the fire pit to save us from wood hunting the first night.

This house hits the mark for many reasons, the access to the beach, the boat launch, the space. We love almost everything about this place. Beautiful Port Susan views and gorgeous sunsets! But, when you rent a house that sleeps 14 people you would expect to have supplies for 14 people. The toilet paper is the thinnest paper ever and we had several children with us. Bring better TP. The kitchen had 3 dishwasher tablets and a small (tiny) bottle of dish soap. We ran out of soap in the bathrooms and there were no refills and we also had to buy extra trash bags. For the amount we paid for the 4 nights we shouldn’t have to run to the IGA and purchase these supplies. While we love this house and will likely rent again, we will make sure to bring extra things with us.

The house is lovely and sits right on the beach. Loved having the fire pit for sitting around in the evening and enjoying the stars from the patio. Plenty of beds for big families and a beautiful master sweet with stunning views of the water. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils but could use more than one kitchen garbage bag and one dishwasher detergent.

Good:
Location is good. View is great. Plenty of beds.
Some mattresses are great. There was a person locally available for any questions.
Not so good:
There were only one and half rolls of kitchen paper towels, and quality of those were not good. Fortunately we had ourselves, so we could use it. Also there were only two sachets of dish washing machine detergent, but good thing is the local Vacasa person gave us more upon contacting them.
No blinds in the master bedroom.
Bad:
Metal bunk beds and the master bed make squeaking noise.
They don't give new scotch-brite scrubs, asked us to use the previously used one (which was apparently sanitized). So we had to buy it ourselves. Kitchen is not well stocked.

Best beach house ever!
The Whale house did not disappoint! The home was everything we needed and more. From the spectacular view and easy access to the beach to the cleanliness of the gorgeous property. We appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into stocking the home with plenty of supplies too.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.
Reviewer Comments:
The location is beautiful, and the views are amazing The neighbors are all very hospitable as well. That said, there's a lot of details that were missing. We stay at vacation rentals often, so I'm speaking from in depth experience with rentals. First there are no extra blankets in the house (we brought our own thankfully); they are very stingy on the products - enough dishwasher soap for three run throughs (we were there 7 days); the toilet paper is very cheap and rough, same with the paper towels. There are ZERO spices. We even had to purchase black pepper. Every other rental I've stayed has an array of spices and oils. There was zippo here. So be sure to bring your own. All of the upholstered furniture was really dirty and worn. There was no vacuum available to us so we couldn't keep the carpeted areas clean - we have two dogs and vacuum daily. And then I was thrown by the 10am checkout which I didn't realize until the day before when I received a text ... totally my fault for not reading the small print - but that is rough. I would never knowingly sign up for a vacation rental with that early of a check out.
Also when we arrived the furniture wasn't placed right; it was sort of strown around ... the dining table not really under the dining room light and benches and chairs not aligned; and the same with the kitchen table that was just stuck in the corner with a mess of chairs.
Also the main entry smelled like cat pee. :-( was horrible.
So all in all would rate our overall stay a 2.5 given this input and experience.

What a great place for 9 friends to gather. It is more beautiful than the pictures! We adored cooking in the fabulous kitchen, the views are breathtaking. In addition to beach walks the neighborhood along the water is wonderful for walking.

Stayed here with my family of 6 adult and 1 toddler for a belated Thanksgiving gathering and it was great! I had stayed before with a group a friends and knew this house would be the perfect fit. Nice ambience inside the house, and an even better setting outside the house. The rental company is quick to respond and ensures their guests have a great stay. I recommend!
