About this cottage rental
Gibson’s Getaway is a cozy, 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on Maple Lake in downtown Three Lakes, WI.
Available year-round, it’s the ideal cottage for couples, small families, or a few friends looking to get away together in the Northwoods. The simple kitchen, cozy living room with fireplace, and relaxing heated porch allow you to enjoy a multi-night stay that you’ll wish could last forever.
Location & Cottage Description:
The true appeal is the location. Nestled on the south shore of Maple Lake, you can enjoy all the amenities of life on a quiet lake outside your front door including two docks, canoe and paddle boat in the summer as well as easy access to snowmobile trails in the winter.
One of the "Three" lakes, Maple Lake boasts a 131 acre spring-fed lake in the heart of town with a public beach and boat landing located just west of the cottage. Whether guests wish to enjoy a calm paddle or water ski, Maple Lake has a private lake feel since it is not connected to the Three Lakes Chain--except by canoe/kayak portage into Townline Lake. Fish species include: musky, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.
Gibson's Getaway is one of several privately-owned cottages that line Rising Moon Lane on a secluded 4-acre shared property along Maple Lake. Once a classic resort, the updated cottages are now part of Maple Shores Condominium Association. Guests at Gibson's Getaway have access to a shared private dock and waterfront, large yard area in front and back of cottage, parking for 2 vehicles, and an individual picnic table.
This is NOT for you, if you're looking for a place to stay up late and make lots of noise, invite crowds of people over to party and get rowdy, or you plan to trash the place and leave it a mess.
This IS for you, if you're looking for a place to relax in a cozy, no-frills environment, where you get to enjoy the simple things in life, away from the hustle and bustle.
Guest Access:
Guests can use the front and back yard areas for games, laying out, etc. An aluminum canoe and a blue & white pedal boat are available to use and located on the sandy area by the docks. A small play area and pavilion are in the front yard. Directly next to the cabin, there is a Weber grill, fire cage, and a picnic table for you to use.
Other Things to Note:
Our 4 acres of land and two docks are shared with other cottage owners. All owners and guests can use the land and docks. Our small private community has quiet hours from 10:30pm-8:00am. NO PETS ALLOWED. Please note that we DO NOT provide any type of towels bath/beach etc. Please bring your own with you. We do provide bed linens.

The cabin was cozy, but well laid out and comfortable. The lake was easy entry with a large sandy area. Plenty of room for lawn games. Close enough to walk to shops or a diner.

Came to see my Aunt in the area with my sister! I really enjoyed our stay!

The cabin had just about anything you could ask for. It was comfy and clean, and about 100 steps from Maple Lake. The AC worked well, the shower was good, and the outside space next to the cabin was where we spent a good amount of time. The fishing was awful, but it had rained/stormed every day for almost a week, so that isn't really fair. We still fished when we could and just listened to music and had some drinks while we were on the pier. Communication with the owners was excellent as well.

Cute little cabin, love the grounds, sitting in the dock org a cup of tea in the morning was cathartic. Peaceful.

This cabin was so cozy with a genuine Northwoods feel. Well taken care of and full of cute decorations. Good location and well equipped. The hosts had coffee and creamer available which was great to have available before we could get to the store. The hosts Heidi and George were always reachable to answer any questions. We will return for sure! Thank you
