This place was great. Had all the items you need for a trip away. Loved the loft area with a TV and 4 twin beds. It was the kids little get-a-way! The 2 main bedrooms and bathrooms were on par. And the kitchen had everything you would need. I loved that the house also had beach chairs and such to keep us from having to haul much in our car. I would definitely would stay here again! And it was a great location in terms of the beach and downtown area!

Reviewer Comments:
The porch space was lovely and this house is close to the beach, the park, and Mason Ave, making it a great location. The kids loved the upstairs loft space. I would stay here again without hesitation because of the great location, though this house felt a bit overpriced compared to some other places we have stayed based on what was available in the house.Things that we missed after staying in other homes in Cape Charles: 1 - a kitchen table / suitable workspace -- the bar is cute, but not great for putting together a puzzle or gathering for a meal or trying to work on a laptop.2 - a backyard shed with beach equipment -- this house had a few beach chairs and umbrellas in the backyard, but they weren't protected from the elements (were just sitting in the yard) and we missed the bikes, kayaks, corn hole and other extras that have been available in other homes; this house did have a plethora of beach towels, though.3 - better kitchen equipment -- some of the silverware was a bit rusty, the knives and pots weren't great quality; there were PLENTY of glasses and mugs, though! The house was generally clean, though it appeared that the kitchen floor hadn't been mopped in a really long time and the grill was dirty enough that it felt like too much effort to clean it so we could use it.

We enjoyed staying at this rental; firepit was nice; beds very comfortable.Recommendation: Make the place more presentable. I cleaned the outdoor furniture/swept porch; it was not a good first impression. I had to call to arrange lawn mowed. Also, try to create a table for sitting; bar stools are cool but not comfortable. And more bathroom towels would have been nice. (Beach towels were great) We loved the location and the "homey feel". TV easy to navigate.

What a perfect vacation home, two houses from the beach and a beautiful porch filled with rocking chairs. The kitchen has everything you will need or want and is a great gathering spot for meals. The bedrooms with en suite bathrooms provide comfortable beds with fresh linens and towels. All the basic necessities are provided to get your vacation started. The second floor breezeway connecting bedrooms abounds with books, games and toys and a lovely window seat. The third floor has plentiful beds, each with a draw for the younger ones. There is a beautiful backyard for children to play and adults to relax and enjoy the salt air. You will love this hone, We did and we look forward to returning.

Close to beach which was great. That was the best part. No kitchen table which was hard with kids since barstools are way too tall for little ones. Overpriced. The house was very scented. Glade plugs ins and other smells left all our belongings with a strong scent. The blankets had not been washed when we arrived. No fitted sheet on the king size bed so it kept sliding off as we slept. Kids liked the kids room upstairs for playing in.

Perfect family beach getaway
This was a great rental for our family vacation. It’s a mere few steps to the beach and a very short walk to town. The home was unique and well maintained; the kids loved the diner counter and ate breakfast at a different stool each morning. We can’t say enough about this place and look forward to visiting again.

Our week in Cape Charles was fantastic. The house and location were great, and so are the beach and the town. We had a few issues, but none so great that couldn’t be managed. (1) One of the umbrellas and one of the beach chairs that came with the house were broken. (2) The Internet never quite worked, which was a disappointment on rainy days when a movie was in order. (We communicated with the very nice property manager who did try to fix things, but it never worked in the end.) (3) The house was also not as clean as we would have liked. The floors need better care in general (especially the first floor) and dusting throughout would also help. But in spite of these minor issues, we would definitely stay there again!

Reviewer Comments:
This house is huge and one block walk to the beach which was lovely. The cleanliness left a lot to be wished for. There were diapers and paper towels and trash left in the fire pit which was so so gross. I called the management who agreed to remove them but they only removed some of the trash so there were still gross paper towels littering the fire pit. As such we didn’t feel we could use it. :( likewise, the kitchen wasn’t very clean and they agreed to come back and clean the filthy milkshake maker and kitchen floor. But the floor didn’t feel much cleaner afterward. There’s a giant grate on the floor that they seemingly never vacuum under but my toddler was picking filth out of, so when they didn’t vacuum it after their second floor cleaning, my husband lifted the grate himself and vacuumed it all clean. It was truly gross. We appreciated the convenience of bath and beach towels being provided. There were beach chairs we should have been able to wear as backpacks to the beach but the backpack straps were broken. Still nice to have the chairs, and they had a beach umbrella. I loved the outdoor shower to rinse sand off, but it is too low for any adult to stand under for a full shower so be prepared to squat if you want to shower outside and rented on the Jaquie A side of the house.

Another great vacation in Cape Charles
This was our family's second year in this house - the location simply cannot be beat! Kids love the upstairs hideaway, great backyard, steps from the beach, close to town - all boxes checked.

Great place, perfect for families with older kids!
We had a great time! The third floor was great for our college age kids, stairs are steep so might be difficult for little ones. It is literally steps from the beach. Only issue is that the WiFi is terrible, had to hotspot our phones. Other than that I highly recommend this place!

Great property and location!
We had a great stay - very clean, nicely decorated, many amenities - towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, fully stocked kitchen. Loved the milkshake maker! Very close to beach. Would love to return sometime!

Beautiful beach house and fun kitchen diner!
This was our first trip to Cape Charles, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and staying at Chris' beautiful home! The diner-inspired kitchen was so fun, and made it easy to entertain friends who were also in town. The loft was a huge hit with the teenage boys and the front porch was perfect for morning coffee, or capping off the end of a day at the beach. I can't say enough nice things about this property, the accommodations and the responsiveness of the owners!

Great home, great owners
We've stayed in over a dozen vacation rentals over the last 5 years, and there have been no better owners than Darin and Suzanne. They took care of everything and no detail was overlooked. If we needed anything, they took care of it in minutes. The house is great, but the real treat are Darin and Suzanne.

The girls loved sleeping on the third floor in their “club house.” You have created a wonderful home away from home.

We had a wonderful time staying at your home. The attention to detail was second to none and your hospitality was above and beyond. It was by far the best beach rental experience we have ever had. Thank you for making this property available to share with others!

Wonderful stay close to the beach
This property is amazing. It was completely perfect for our group--4 adults and 2 kids. (Although we could have fit two more kids upstairs.) The house is so close to the beach that it's a breeze to get there and back. You're also close to anything you may want to access on the main street in Cape Charles. The grill and back patio are perfect for relaxing. The bedrooms and bathrooms are impeccable--linens and towels are high quality and the tubs are deep enough for a great soak! Darin and Suzanne were fantastic as well. They were very responsive throughout the booking process, and easily available if we needed anything. Truly, you don't need to bring an extra thing with you. The kitchen is stocked. There are beach towels, chairs, an umbrella, and beach toys. This place is made for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. My mom was traveling with us, and I think she said "This is the most relaxing beach vacation I've ever had." about five times that week. Two things we brought and we're happy we had (but are certainly not necessary for everyone): a rolling cart/wagon to transport bigger items to the beach and a soccer ball for kicking around the backyard and nearby park. Darin and Suzanne--thank you for providing such a great experience for our family! It was wonderful.

Perfect Place
The house was perfect for us. The kitchen had every appliance imaginable, the livingroom has two full couches and an overstuffed chair, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were big with enough counter space for toiletries, the laundry room is equipped with large sized washer and dryer, the front porch has plenty of seating and is shaded in the evenings, the owners are very friendly and helpful. We plan on going back next year!

All the stars!!
Owners have taken great care to think about anything beach vacationers might need. From comfortable beds to beach towels and buckets...this house was well stocked for our needs! Our family (including small children) were very comfortable here and would highly recommend Cape Charles and "Our Mom's Place" for those seeking an easy get-away in a quiet town.

Perfect family getaway
The house was beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches and a perfect configuration for a family with kids. Close to the beach and a great porch to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. There is something for everyone in the family! Very clean with several amenities to make your stay comfortable. There is even a delicious homemade cake waiting for you upon arrival. This place is a gem!

Best vacation home ever, 3 houses from the each.
This house is amazing. They did not spare any expense when renovating. The TV’s are Samsung Smart Tvs, the bathrooms have deep tubs and hardwired makeup mirrors, the towels are the softest ever, the grill is top notch, and evey other detail is great. The dish TV worked well, and the internet was fats enough to stream Netflix on 3 screens at once. There are tons of sand toys, beach towels, beah chairs, and an umbrella. My 5 and 2 yer old loved the 3rd floor tv nook and twin beds. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids in the den. And the hosts were very helpful and easily reachable. Do not hesitate renting this one, it will not disappoint!
