About this house rental
OUR CALENDAR IS ACCURATE, IF THE SYSTEM ALLOWS YOU TO BOOK, THE HOME IS AVAILABLE.
This quaint 130-year-old all-brick townhouse is ideally located in the heart of historic Georgetown. WALK SCORE 97! It is on a quiet one-way side street literally one block from Wisconsin Ave, your destination for cafes, restaurants, bistros, shopping and antique browsing.
The home offers ~1150 square feet over three finished levels with plentiful natural sunlight. Desirable amenities include hardwood floors, two wood burning fireplaces, skylights, a private deck, and brick patio. The main level has an open sitting area facing the fireplace and large TV, and dining area with table seating for 5. It overlooks the deck and the back yard. A fully stocked kitchen with center island greets you. Upstairs you will find a master bedroom with king bed and a second bedroom with a full bed and desk. A full bath with tub separates the two bedrooms. The lower level is an adorable full studio with sliding doors to the back patio. It features a fireplace, sitting area, queen bed, a roll-away twin bed, kitchenette and full bathroom. Fenced backyard and deck provides space for outdoor relaxation or entertaining.
Note that the home has the original floors and stairs, a quaint feature, however the stairs are steeper and narrower than you would find in today’s homes. Also, the master bedroom is open to the main floor, one floor below, (so the skylight provides light on both levels). Consequently, this home is not a good choice for toddlers or anyone challenged by stairs. Please inquire about our other properties in Georgetown.
Leave your car at home, there are abundant options for transportation in the area including our robust Metro system, Uber and Lyft, the Metro and Circulator buses, shared bikes, scooters, and cars, (Free to Move). Consult or the CityMapper app to plan your movement around DC. If you are driving, we can order you a street parking permit. Please check with us first on this, we will need the car make, model, and the plate state & number.

A prime location 1 block from Wisconsin Avenue, close to wonderful bakeries, shops, and restaurants, but on a quiet street of nice townhouses. We enjoyed our stay, but the property needs attention. The living room shade was defective, it could not be held up, keeping the room dark. The deck was not swept, chairs were dirty and railing was covered with spider webs. The bed in the front upper room was defective-it creaked every time a person moved. It's disgusting to expect that a renter could sleep in such a bed. (The other 2 beds were very good). The bathroom window downstairs needs a screen. When opened to remove dampness and odors (no fan), bugs and mosquitos came in. The sink in the lower bathroom was clogged on arrival--it was not addressed by the cleaning crew prior to our arrival and left for us to deal with. We never did get the internet to work. The specified domain did not appear on our devices. There were some complicated directions on how to get it going, but we didn't feel like internet troubleshooting on vacation. Perhaps the maintenance crew should check it to make sure it's operating before the next tenant arrives. The bathrooms were OK but not modern. The upstairs kitchen was nice, but no microwave (just one downstairs). We didn't alert management to the problems during our stay--we don't like to take time to address maintenance problems while on vacation. This property was perhaps in line with a vintage rental, but it was by no means upscale or luxury.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! I was traveling with a friend, and there was plenty of room for privacy, with 2 upstairs bedrooms with a full bathroom, and one downstairs suite with a full bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The washer and dryer were very easy to use, and very convenient. There are a lot of steep stairs in this property, but as long as you are mobile and very careful, they are manageable. The location was excellent - 1 km to Safeway (and Starbucks) up Wisconsin, and a short walk to the main thoroughfare in the other direction to the heart of Georgetown. The host was very easy to contact, and responded quickly to any concerns we had. I would definitely stay here again!

The house was great. As cool as I had imagined. Perfect location. The back patio needed attention and clean up. My family all loved it 💓😎
4.7
Pros: Nice location close to restaurants and shops; easy bike into the mall; quiet location
Cons: skylight at top of steep stairs leaks; kitchen needs a deep clean (as does the rest of the place) and there are things that should be thrown or replaced. Moldy plastic shower curtains. King bed upstairs is a loft bedroom open to the lower living area, which can be problematic. Finally, someone should come through with an eye for comfort. (eg no extra blankets or throws).

My family enjoyed this home so much. It had a very quaint and historic vibe. The host was very responsive. We were a short walk (or scooter ride!) from many of the historic sites and amazing bakeries and ice cream spots. We didn’t have time to shop, but there were so many cute shops very close by.I would definitely recommend this place for your next trip to DC.

This location was great. A short walk to the 33 bus stop. The neighborhood was lively with lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We were in DC for a wedding at The Wharf. We were able to walk from our location to the water taxi and take a scenic “commute” to the Wharf. We loved being in Georgetown and feeling like part of the neighborhood. We could e-bike / e-scooter to all the monuments. The house was clean and gave us plenty of space. It is an older home, and so, as others have noted, guests need to be prepared for smaller rooms and narrow staircases and the other things that go with an older home - which we found charming :). The property managers provided very detailed information and responded to questions and requests quickly and positively.

This was my second time using a Georgetown property for a family trip to DC. The location was ideal for our needs -- easy transportation to the Mall, museums, and attractions. Lovely neighborhood with plenty of restaurant choices for our modest budget. The property was clean and well outfitted. It provided everyone space to recover from busy days as well as a central living space. Be aware that there is no bathroom on the main level and, as is typical of these older homes, the stairs are steep. Owner was especially helpful when we were trying to set up the initial reservation and provided useful information for our DC excursions.

Perfect location w/in walking distance of shops, reataurants, bars, galleries, etc. Stairs require getting used to and are not for elderly or impaired. Comfortable beds and living area. Minor hiccup on checkin when I had not received door code, but quickly resolved. Would stay here again.

Wow! This was by far the best experience our family has ever had. The area was beautiful and quiet. The townhouse gorgeous. It has all modern amenities. The upstairs stayed a little warm but that was a minor inconvenience.

Adequate, but not lux. Steep stairs and lack of bathroom on main floor should be mentioned in ad. Among our party were an elderly person and someone with knee issues, and the stairs posed a challenge. And, a three-bedroom accomodation should have more seating in common area. Since one of the dining chairs collapsed the first time a mid-size person sat in it, our party had to gather while seated on four stools taken from the kitchen.
Overall, it's an OK property, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends seeking "luxe" accomodations.
