About this cottage rental
Perfect for a winter getaway with our cosy slow combustion wood fire inside and our fire pit outside. This beautiful two bedroom cottage accommodation is situated on part of our ten acre rural property with views of the dam and overlooking the paddocks where our sheep and cows roam freely. The property is partly surrounded by natural Australian bush which is home to kangaroos, cockatoos, kookaburras and many more varieties of Australian animals. The cottage is well appointed with a large kitchen including dishwasher and microwave and the living area has a slow combustion wood fire to keep you warm and cozy in the winter while enjoying a glass of red or cup of hot chocolate. The cottage also has ducted air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer. The large outdoor area includes a gas barbeque and outdoor dining as well as a long bench with bar stools where you can just sit, watch the cows grazing and enjoy the scenery. We are located just 2.5 kms from Thirlmere township and the NSW Train Museum which offers steam train rides every weekend and regular visits from Thomas the Tank Engine and is also home to the Steam Train Festival which is held annually in March. Thirlmere Lakes National Park and the spectacular Mermaid Pools and Potholes are within a ten minute drive with many bushwalking trails and swimming holes. Cedar Creek orchard is a five minute drive away where you can pick your own seasonal fruit and they also offer apple juice, cider and honey for sale, check their website for bookings and dates. Whether you want to just get away from it all, relax and unwind or bring the family and checkout the local attractions. We are only about an hours drive from Sydney and about half an hour from Bowral and the Southern Highlands, perfect for a family getaway or a romantic weekend. Also only 50 minutes drive from the Wollongong beaches.

Such a lovely little getaway with my young family.
The kids loved the cows and sheep that always came up to say hi.
House was clean, tidy and comfortable and the inside fire was so lovely. Close to picton (10 min drive) for a meal.

What an amazing little property and fantastic location. It was a real treat to stay with my family in Little Kingsley. My 1 year old absolutely loved feeding the cows and sheep every morning with bread rolls provided by the owner. Lovely extras such as kids toys/books and board games. The only things that I would suggest is a washing machine, especially for people staying for longer periods, lock on internal door to garage for toddlers, and a fire guard. Thank you for having us and we will definitely be back to visit again.

Loved it!! 10 minutes away from many activities for the family- the rail museum, pony rides, animal farms. My 3 kids aged 5 to 9 years had a blast making friends with the cows and sheep on the property, roasting marshmallows with the fire pit. The fire place was a gem and kept us warm and the place was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Also loved the little touches of the loaf of bread and fresh eggs in the fridge, Thank you Alaine! It was amazing, I’m so pleased I found this place, We are definitely planning a comeback holiday!

A beautiful area to stay in and enjoy the countryside. We visited for a weekend away from Sydney with the kids and they enjoyed seeing the cows and sheep and kangaroos. The cosy fireplace was perfect in the evenings and some nice food options in Picton.
Alaine was great with communication and very helpful at giving us advice for the local area. Thanks for a great stay

Visited Sydney from Brisbane for 2 nights and booked this accomdation for me and my family. Beautiful, tidy home! Kids loved the sheep and cows in the backyard especially when the cows came to the fence so they could pat them. Quite chilly so was able to make good use of fireplace! Well thought out property for guests and very comfortable place to stay! Highly recommend this property for a luxe, farm-styled stay. Easy access and great communication with owner

We loved every minute of the long weekend we spent at the farm. The house is very comfortable, cosy and well taken care of and it definitely was designed with guests comfort in mind.
The patio is lovely and we enjoyed our meals outside. Our daughter really loved all the toys and books she found at the house (such a nice touch!), as well as observing the animals.
The farm is pretty close to Sydney and many interesting places to explore with kids.
Overall, we were very happy with our time at the farm and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

We had a fantastic stay! We loved the house - really clean and modern. Kitchen was very well appointed with many things needed for home cooking and for the BBQ. The fireplace kept us cozy and we all enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. It was great to see all the cows and sheep grazing on the property and the kids loved feeding them hay over the fence just a few meters from our back door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location and cottage was great. Very clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. It’s quiet and peaceful. We especially liked the fresh bread and eggs when we arrived. Lots of games for families and a cosy fireplace that was all ready for us to just light. The host was extremely friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

The place was clean and perfect location to stay for our race in Picton. The place had everything that we want and need. I was just sad that we weren't able to stay longer to enjoy the place more. They have lambs and cows too which are very friendly.Alaine even left some bread, eggs and butter in the fridge as a welcome present for us which I think is a very nice touch. The only and minor thing missing in the house was a full mirror . The only mirror this house have was the one in the bathroom.Other than that, I find it perfect and looking forward to staying again to relax and explore the place next time.

From the moment we drove in the gates, we fell in love with the property, we were lucky enough to be blessed with 4 little baby lambs to enjoy watching running around with their mumma & the mumma cow & her growing boy, they all we’re happy to come & visit with us.
The house is lovely, very easy to check in, it was lovely inside & very clean! The eggs & fresh bread on arrival is such a wonderful touch, plus butter in the fridge too & Alaine even had the fire ready to go for us, which we used to keep us warm the whole weekend & they provided us with pre-cut wood making it super easy.
The only thing for us is, we prefer a softer mattress but in saying that we still all got some sleep, I would have loved a long mirror in one of the bedrooms.
We will definitely be back again, we loved it that much💚

This place was even better than advertised. It’s has everything you need, a place for a fire inside and out, and a full kitchen for cooking.
Plus you get some visitors every now and then(cows and sheep). One of the best weekends away! Can’t wait to visit again.

We had a great experience. The property is impeccably clean. Surrounded by a beautiful green farm. There were farm animals grazing around. The hosts kept the firepits outside and inside the property ready to go. They even gave us bags of food to feed the farm animals. The property is quite near to the beautiful town of picton but secluded enough to enjoy the nature. Our child loved being here and spent most of the time running around the farm chasing the ducks. We would definetely be coming back. The hosts have kindly organised a surprise of a pack of marshmellows to burn on the firepit and enjoy.

The property is a beautifully presented modern cottage, in immaculate condition, with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It is located in a quiet rural area, which is only a short drive to Thirlmere or Picton for meals or supplies. The property has a great kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, lounge, BBQ and outdoor undercover area with a a few friendly cows and sheep roaming around. Alaine was a wonderful host who allowed us to check-in early and even loaded up the wood fire ready to go. We stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding and visit the southern highlands and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We could have easily stayed much longer.

We stayed here as we were visiting friends who live nearby. What a lovely clean, quiet and well equipped gem. Wonderful comfy beds, great a/c, and we loved the outdoor bbq and eating space. And the friendly sheep and cows were an added bonus. Must recommend the Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre Swimming pool in Picton if it’s hot and / or you have kids. Less than 10 mins drive away and a great facility with indoor and outdoor pools

We had a great short stay at Little Kingsley with our 3 year old daughter. We most enjoyed watching the cows and sheep in the paddock (a calf was born just the week prior!), the games and children's books provided, and the quiet location. Thank you for having us!

The house is well set up for a family holiday, with a portacot and highchair available to use if necessary. Excellent outdoor entertaining area with BBQ and Fire pit. My Children loved being able to explore, collect sticks and follow the sheep, cows and ducks around. Alaine also provided extra eggs for a family bbq and the best oranges I've eaten in a long time. Fantastic hospitality.

We have just spent a weekend at Little Kingsley with our two young kids. We had an AMAZING time. The house we stayed at looked like it was brand new and it was fully equipped with everything you will ever need. The hosts have thought of everything - we had eggs, bread and firewood waiting for us. Kids had an amazing time running around the farm, playing with the two dogs, feeding the cows and sheep. They would only come in at night when it was time to sleep. The kids didn’t want to leave when it was our time to go but we will come back for sure. I would highly recommend this magical place to all families with kids. You will
not regret it.

The property was so lovely and quiet and we loved seeing all the animals right outside out window, the sheep, cows and even some cute lambs. The cottage itself was so lovely and new and everything was perfectly clean. Such nice touches having games for the kids to play and the fresh bread and eggs, which we enjoyed for breakfast. Wish we could have stayed for longer, the weekend wasn't enough! We loved relaxing by the fire inside and even cooked some marshmallows over the outdoor fire pit one night. Highly recommended!!

My two children, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Kingsley family farm. We visited the train museum which was great and had some quality family time relaxing at a beautiful and well appointed property. The joy we had with sitting outside having breakfast and in the afternoon by the outdoor firepit and watching the cows and sheep come right up to the fence for a visit was fantastic. Thanks for the surprise of fresh bread and eggs. We wished we had stayed longer!
