On your first time to Cozy Acorn please plan to arrive during daylight hours. As they say to get to the awesome views you have to climb the mountain. With that being said most of the roads in Laurel Acres are gravel and very steep and some places only enough room for one vehicle to pass. During normal weather conditions any vehicle will be able to make the journey with no problem. 4WD and AWD vehicles will make it easier to get there and would be necessary during inclement weather snow and ice along with chains installed on the vehicle. On your way up keep your eyes out for wildlife you may see bears, deer or turkey. With that being said it is recommended not to leave food in your vehicle or leave your vehicle unlocked or any garbage outside bears will go through your vehicle if they smell food inside it.
Cell service contact your cell provider to see if your service will work in this area. My service has issues when driving up the mountain but after arriving at the cabin my cell service works great
If your planning on using the outdoor fire pit cut wood can be purchased at some of our local gas stations or the local grocery store.
Please note that the gas fireplaces are seasonal and are not operational between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Please note there is a security camera located on the workshop that faces the driveway this is for security reasons only and is not monitored 24-7 it records automatically. There is also a Ring Doorbell that is on the front porch at the front door. It records audio and video to a cloud.

The cabin was extremely accommodating for our stay. The views off the back deck are a 10 out of 10. The hot tub was very enjoyable on a cool day.

The house and grounds were perfect for our family getaway. Kevin communicated often and everything went very smoothly. We hope to return soon!

Kevin was very communicative. Day/Night views from the property were fantastic. House was very clean and as advertised. Would recommend to anyone looking for a break from the usual hustle and bustle.

We were very happy with our stay. The view from the back deck is unbelievable! I took so many pictures it was ridiculous. The cabin was nice. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for all of us (we had 8 adults and one toddler). Adequate kitchen supplies. Some things a little out-dated, but everything worked properly and we had no real complaints. The host responded quickly to any inquiries and we had no issues. The drive is a little scary but it's doable. Definitely go in the daytime the first time if at all possible. The area has a ton to offer and we will definitely return.

The cabin is just so perfect, great view, fully stacked and the location is peaceful and closed to everything. You will see a lot of wildlife to get to the cabin and at the cabin. Our two 10 years old enjoy the arcade et ping pong table while we in the spa.
We stayed there 4 nights. (Not enough) Sunrise and Sunset are spectacular, we had a different show every day and night. The rooms are big and confortable.
Kevin the owner is so available and answer questions within minutes. He is always there to give you the best experience for your stay. We can’t wait to go back.

We rented this cabin for a weekend getaway with friends. Nice property high up in the NC mountains with great views from the outside deck. There were a few small cleaning issues I mentioned privately to the owner but overall it was a good experience. We were visited daily by a juvenile bear so keep an eye out for it coming around!

Kevin manages an absolutely beautiful mountain home. Check in was seamless, everything about this rental exceeded our expectations from the listing. Communication was consistent. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone, especially families looking for the ideal getaway. Just remember to bring an AWD vehicle like we did! Thank you Kevin!

Make sure you study neighborhood map carefully. Road is gravel and GPS is spotty heading up the mountain. Four wheel drive strongly recommended. Best to arrive before dark as street signs are difficult to see.

What a view! The cabin was a great getaway to spend with my family for my wife's 60th birthday celebration. The decks looking over from the top of the mountain were spectacular. This time of year with all the leaves changing colors was a plus! The cabin was very comfortable for the 9 of us, ranging from 1 to 63.

This property had everything we wanted for our trip to Asheville. It was perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The view alone was well worth it, but everything at the cabin was perfect! Definitely arrive during daytime to figure out the drive up the mountain, but once you do it the first time, it's easy. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks for everything!

This cabin was the perfect getaway for my family. The hot tub, game room, firepit, and back porch were the highlights, — the view was one-of-a-kind. Plenty of space, and we saw a little bear family (we kept our distance for sure). Highly recommend!

Me and my best friends stayed here for my bachelor party and it was great. We saw bears and loved the deck and the views. Perfect spot for a mountain getaway. The drive up does make it somewhat difficult to come back at night from the breweries in Ashville.

The description of the property was extremely accurate. Once arriving didn't want to leave the beautiful view. It really was spectacular!! The house was very clean and there was a surplus of towels which is unusual. Beds were comfortable and the house was spacious so we could spread out. Our grandchildren loved the game room downstairs so much so we had to drag them away to local activities which are very close by. When in Asheville this will definitely be our house of choice...

Great remote house with beautiful view
Very private mountain cabin with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. 2 arcade style video games, ping pong, and theatre style couches give you plenty to do while Inside. I would definitely go back. Having a SUV or truck is helpful getting up and down the driveway.

Lovely mountain home, great view
We really enjoyed our time here. A few blips with some appliances but property manager was responsive. Great deck and view. Nice to have the jacuzzi. Felt like a family home, not a generic rental. Not far from Asheville and Black Mountain. Would recommend it.

Amazing views and home
We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids (10-15). Absolutely amazing time! The view is stunning. Thank you to our host for keeping the trees low so we can actually look out and see the mountains. Gameroom was a daily HIT for the kids - and adults. Firepit was stocked for one use and even had good S’mores roasters. But the porch was the best for views and relaxing. Home is well equipped and matches pics. Thank you 5*****Stars

Heavenly stay!
The drive up the gravel part of the road was stressful the first time. We knew to anticipate it but it was challenging with a loaded down van. From the moment we stepped foot on the property we knew we were in heaven. The view is breathtaking. The yard area and house were neat and clean. The spaciousness and all the "extras" from the hot tub and tv rooms to the ping pong and smores provisions made this visit so enjoyable for our newly blended large family. My favorite were the porches and the ability to sit there any time of day and take in the breathless views of the mountains. Everything about this house was positive and inviting. It was such a special trip! We count ourselves so blessed to have stayed here.

Amazing views
Had an amazing stay at the cabin. Cooked outside on an open fire pit two nights by views of the beautiful valley. Kitchen is properly equipped. Kevin was spot on with communication and the check in process was seamless. Oh and the hot tub and view capped it off perfectly! Highly recommend.
