About this cabin rental
The Pinetop Cabin is a modern, sustainably built, architect-designed cabin that is the perfect retreat from the city. This open, airy 2-bedroom sits on 2+ acres of woods and wildflowers. The cabin is spacious, light-filled, and cozy. It is equipped with a stocked kitchen, large deck, a conveniently split full bathroom, and high-speed fiber internet. Much of the furniture is custom-made by the owner. Includes all the conveniences of a modern home in a country cabin setting. Perfect for a couples weekend, small family, romantic get-away, or work retreat. While at the cabin, you feel like you are away from it all, but the charming main street of Chatham is only a 10 minute drive and the cabin is close to route 203 for easy access to local spots and travel. There’s so much to explore with close proximity to the Berkshires (20 minutes to Great Barrington, Tanglewood, and Jacob’s Pillow), Hudson (30 minutes), and many great smaller Hudson Valley towns. In the summer, there are tons of trails to hike, outdoor activities, and farm stands for some of the Northeast’s best produce. In the winter, you are close to ski mountains like Butternut (20 minutes), Catamount, Windham, Hunter, and Jiminy Peak. There are good fishing opportunities nearby, too.

My Hosts went way beyond hospitality thoughtful. For one: after a washing machine glitch they offered to pick up my stuff to launder and return during my visit. Dachhsund Ben, who they permitted stay, enjoyed the views.

A perfect spot to get away with my wife for the first time in seven years and three kids! So peaceful. Amazing location near great towns, hiking and food. We’ll be back with the whole family!

The house is exactly as pictured, very clean and well-cared for. The hosts are super responsive. We enjoyed seeing deer off the porch, cooking with food from well-stocked local farm markets, seeing some sculpture at Omi Art, visiting ice cream and cider stops, and using the Roku. We also happened to arrive during a tropical storm and didn’t even know power was out because there is a generator.

Enjoyed my stay here so much it made me want to own the place! The cabin is exactly as it looks in the pictures ... and it feels warm and more cosey when you're there. We had a blast enjoying breakfast coffee and evening drinks on the deck, watching the wildlife wander by. The a/c was wonderful when the temps hit 95 outside. And the bbq and kitchen had everything we needed to cook gourmet meals - or just toast a bagel. The proximity to the main road meant you could hear the occasional car passing when outside - but you can only see trees and wildlife, and when inside the cabin everything is completely calm and serene. Loved our stay here!

Couldn't recommend the Pinetop Cabin more highly! It's beautifully designed, close to lots of fun activities (we really liked the Greenhouse Cidery and various hikes in the area), and the communication from the hosts re booking/check in etc was clear and easy. We hope to be back again soon!

Beautiful and pristine cabin. Close to Tanglewood.

This is an unusually attractive, perfectly clean property in a beautiful setting, within an easy drive of all sorts of outdoor and cultural activities. However, I must mention that, though the house is listed as accessible, there is a rather steep ramp up to the deck, with a step required to get into the house. Also, the house lacks toilet and shower bars, and other ADA features. Perhaps the accessible listing is an error on VRBO’s part, and I hope it will be corrected.
One small nitpick - I think a microwave would be a much better use of the available counter space than the toaster oven that is provided.

We only stayed overnight for a wedding, but found the house pristine, stylish, and most of all: COMFORTABLE! Thank you!

Wonderful property - very simple, elegant and open design. Great deck. Only 5 minute drive from Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School and Farm. We had a delightful stay, and hope to come again - thank you!

Enjoyed the cabin immensely. It is a lovely simple and thoughtful contemporary design with a splurge of Crate & Barrel (or similar) furniture, cooking gear, and accoutrements. Two nitpicks; there is only one wc and one shower which are accessed from living room, which may or may not be fine depending on guests. For us not a problem. Second, the wood stove was not operative, which on a chilly March morning would have been nice to have. Regardless, it's terrific and will return in future.

Nicely appointed, made warm through chic lighting and wood paneling. Stayed with my wife, brother and daughter in November for a family event nearby and loved it—a real oasis. Be mindful of the details in bathroom descriptions when booking—the "2 bathroom" configuration is unique.

What you see in the photos is what you get - a spanking new wooden structure that is beautifully appointed (with modern decor), comfortable, and has the feeling like you've gotten away from civilization for a bit (I was actually surprised to find that I didn't have any cellphone service - good thing that the WiFi was great). My friends and I particularly enjoyed spending time on the deck and the fact that it was easy to get from the property to a number of Berkshire cultural institutions. I should also mention that, while I didn't need to reach out to the owners or property manager during my stay, the owners were very responsive to my emails prior to my stay and addressed an issue that arose with much understanding.

Spartanic Elegance
A clean, well designed, elemental modernist cabin in a small meadow the pine top cabin delivers on its promises, is easy to find and to use, and is conveniently located near, but not in, several small charming upstate towns and art attractions like sculpture park @artomi.

Very beautiful cabin. Brand new and very tasteful. The location wasn’t as secluded as it looked online but great nonetheless.
