This rental has the potential to be a great one. The host seemed very willing to work on this. I believe the host is just new to VRBO and wasn't quiet ready at the time of our stay. We were in the area the week before we moved into this home, and there seemed to be a lot of activity getting the home ready. Once we checked in, first impression was that it was a great little cottage, but then we noticed that it seemed the host ran out of time to finish getting ready. Closets, cabinets, and under beds were stuffed. Areas off the main walkways were not clean. Lighting, dishwasher, and kitchen needs were not all ready for guests or in working order. However, the home-owner was very responsive to us. She had a professional cleaning team at the house within a couple of days, and the home was spotless by the evening. The host then added a few days to our stay free-of-charge to make up for that inconvenience. She had some missing needs delivered the second day, and she tried to get a working dish-washer in the home as well. My recommendation is simply to interact with the homeowner to ensure this home is ready, and then book it. Questions to ask to ensure it's ready are: a) Will the home be cleaned professionally? b) Are all the lightbulbs and light fixtures working? c) Are the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors working? d) Are the box springs for the mattresses and pillows new? e) Is there a dishwasher in good working order? f) Will someone be mowing the yard and how frequently? Final note: This is a home that has had cats inside. The cats were outside for our stay, and the homeowner provided food for us to feed them each night. If you're allergic to cats, you should ask about this as well.
