The Corner Store B&B was a blast from the past with a modern twist! We loved immersing ourselves in the history of the old milk bar - the menu boards, gumball machine, and games added a quirky charm that you just don't get in chain hotels. The newly renovated bathroom was a great - sparkling clean and spacious. And bonus points for the milkshakes that kept the kids (and some adults!) happy. Overall, The Corner Store B&B is a great choice for families and anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

We had a great time, the place is extremely clean, the kitchen has excellent infrastructure, we had everything we needed, there are a lot of activities for the kids as well. we played a lot of football. even though our stay was short we had a great time.
There was a small problem with the kettle but the owner showed up immediately and fixed straight away. No hassle, ideally I would like to call this out as a positive.

this is one of the best stays I have had in 30 years - there were lots of extras -recommend to anyone and any group but remember all three beds are in the same room- so if that if that concerns you don,t stay
I am a picky person and that is my job - couldn,t find a thing wrong

The whole experience was great, there was no one item we like, as it was a fantastic stay.
An explanation on who to use the eclectic hot plates.

Spacious, comfortable, good cooking facilities and new bathroom
A door on the shower would improve the showering experience and prevent soggy bath mat and wet floor

Having the whole area with the kitchen is great. There is a full dining area, couch, and tv to relax.
The bed was a bit hard for my liking and a bit of road noise woke me up a couple of times.

Great place to stay to break up our trip back from Adelaide to Melbourne. Quite unusual, but very comfortable and toasty warm when we arrived. Away from main road, so no traffic noise!!
A couple of wine glasses would be nice. Otherwise there’s everything you need.

Was happy that there was breakfast essentials provided including milk eggs etc.
Everything was perfect. Would have been good if there was some storage space like a cupboard .

Great novelty factor. Well appointed with all necessities and comfortable beds.
What smelled like insect spray was quite overwhelming. No secure on-property parking. Quite a busy road with speeding cars.

spotlessly clean, plenty of room, comfy beds, every need covered
bit old fashioned with all the signs up, however it did effect our stay,

The property was clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi, TV and couch all A++
The property has a lovely theme of being an old milk Bar (quite nostalgic) sleeping up to 5 in the same room seemed reasonable value. I believe you could feel the passion and care that the owners had gone to to make our stay trouble free and comfortable. Very open & transparent… we slept quite well, after a short walk to the pub for dinner.
Honestly cannot fault anything

Absolutely unique place. Huge room. A once in a lifetime experience to sleep in an adapted store. Everything was available for preparing a good breakfast. We would stay there any time again.
The reception was short and kind of unpersonal.

2nd time here and we were Wowed once again. With the addition of a washing machine and more privacy in the bathroom it was a wonderful stay again. The hosts are so friendly and only around when you need them. Nothing is too much trouble
The fact that we had to leave and come home

Me and my family stayed here for one night on our way back to Melbourne from SA. This b&b is nice and clean, hosts are friendly and thoughtful, prepared everything we need for a good rest after a days driving.

This basic property had some obvious positives and a few surprises. Firstly, it’s large. You won’t feel cramped here. secondly, everything works. From the wifi to the A/C, everything worked perfectly. The surprises were the coffee machine and the luggage racks at the foot of the beds.
There isn’t much charm going on.

Very spacious and the new bathroom was really nice. Milkshake ingredients all provided for free and the great cooking utilities to cook your own meals. Met the owners and they were really nice. Would come back to stay again.
Nothing major to complain about.

Loved the friendliness of the staff - they couldn't be more helpful! The room is a huge size and plenty of room to move about. The bathroom is beautifully fitted out and modern. If we wanted to cook, all the facilities and utensils were provided!

This is a very cool idea - take a corner store, leave lots of signs from its past, and make it into accommodation. It is thus mostly a very large room. You need to be aware that the 3 beds in it are along one wall and the couch/tv/table are in the other half of the room, there is no separation. The bathroom is very modern although - as is oddly usual - it did not have enough shelf space for toiletries bags. There is a separate large kitchen area. We loved being able to sit down to dinner at the dining table, which is totally charming with old newspaper items.
It's not a normal b&b. Standard breakfast ingredients (plus ice cream!) are made available. No accommodation for intolerances (we included wheat and dairy!). You MUST do the dishes - there is a clear sign saying you will be charged if you don't. Yes, really. Wash, dry, put away. I have NEVER been asked to do this in a B&B on 3 continents, never. So be aware, it's more like a holiday property. I had expected a small dishwasher in which we would put our dishes to be put back in their place by the hosts. Having said that, I know how to do dishes and it was not a big imposition, but be aware. There were some pretty cool kitchen aids, eg an air cooker, but oddly, no proper coffee maker, just coffee bags. I found there were just a few too many notices about what not to do (parties etc.), it would have felt more welcoming without.

A very confortable and warm bed.
The breakfast was very basic and not even Motel standard.
Needed another preserve to choose from, and a fruit juice, for the overnight cost.
Dining chairs very uncomfortable.

The theme was amazing. The signs, the layout, it was like stepping back in time. The hosts were amazing and gave us space, and even turned the heater on so when we arrived we were nice and warm. The Lollies in the machine were a hit with the children, make sure you bring lots of 20 cent pieces, you will be happy you did and so will the kids. There was so much room for the children to run around and they also enjoyed making their own breakfast in the kitchen which was supplied by the hosts. The bathroom was also immaculate and the space was so clean. I honestly can't recommend this place more, I would give it a 20 out of 10 if I could. Anyone with young families on the way to Melbourne or the snow, be sure to book this gem, your children will thank you for the experience and you will go back in time, who doesn't love nostalgia?...AMAZING, absolute praise to the owner's!!!
Don't order from the Gift Hotel, meals were burnt, small and shocking, coming back to our room was a bonus because it made me smile again after that disappointment. Cannot fault the accommodation.

Space and Supplies. Plenty of room and comfortable warm beds. Lovely to have the milkshake supplies as a bonus! Great for a one night stay.
