About this apartment rental

Located in affluent Foz do Douro – known for its sandy shores, delectable restaurants and popular markets – this soulful apartment promises a typically idyllic coastal retreat and yet is only a ten-minute drive into the centre of Porto. Perfectly placed, you're a short walk from various beaches, including Praia da Luz and Praia do Ourigo, just to name a couple. Step inside to find a cleverly designed space, combining natural materials, traditional touches and modern comforts to create a stylish home. Wood floors, stone walls and Juliet balconies shape the flat as a whole, while the hemp furnishings and neutral colour palette make for laidback yet characterful interiors. We particularly love how this smart set-up uses a crittall-style divider to separate the bedroom from the communal area, adding privacy and plenty of visual interest to boot. Down at street level, you're an eight-minute stroll from Foz Market, a twenty-five-minute walk from the 17th-century Castelo do Queijo fortress, while being surrounded by designer boutiques and art galleries, to tempt you away from the beach. Home truths: *As this is technically a studio apartment, the bed is only partially divided from the communal area *At capacity, one person will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room *This home is best suited to those looking for a coastal stay or who don't mind getting a taxi or bus into the city centre *A daily housekeeping service attends between 11:00am and 5:00pm – towels are only changed for stays longer than five nights *There's an internal lift to take you up to the apartment floor, so it may be suitable for those with limited mobility *Access to the home is via a public entrance
