Wow! Great property! Central air and beautiful home. Plenty of parking. They had 3 fishing poles for use plus bocci ball and horse shoes. Kayaks were a blast and were used on the beautiful lake. They left plenty of fire wood for evening fires. We have already booked for next year. We have rented houses in the area in the past but this one is our go to.

We had a lovely time at this property! We especially loved the croquet and the paddle boat (my toddler has a new love of boats now). The house was incredibly clean and comfortable, and the kitchen well-stocked. We also appreciated all the Adirondack chairs and outdoor seating. Check in was a breeze and communication was easy and fast. We would definitely recommend this house!

We had a great time. The peace and quiet was really nice. The house was just the right size and we loved being able to hang in the side porch when it rained and you can even enjoy the lake views right from the living room. The kids loved the dock and being able to fish right there. Would definitely go again.

We loved our stay at the house! Lake Mayfield is quiet and beautiful but close to Great Sacandaga and other attractions. The house is really well appointed with high-end finish in the kitchen and bathrooms, nice cooking equipment, great dock and boats. The owners are extremely responsive to any issues (there are few) and the checkout process is super easy (no cleaning involved). A great family vacation.

The hosts were amazing. Driving into the property was a little scary as we thought we were lost on the small dirt road but other than that the property was great.

We had a great four night stay at the lake house, two adults and two young children, enjoying fishing off the dock and playing in the lakefront backyard. The toddler items were especially helpful for us and we found the house to be thoughtfully appointed. We enjoyed local attractions during the day and fishing off of the dock in the afternoons and evenings. Our hosts were very communicative and friendly. Overall a lovely stay!

The lake house is such a cute, well done property. The lake view was gorgeous during our stay- white with snow. The house is newly remodeled and is well equipped with all the essential supplies. We didn’t cook during our stay, but the kitchen had everything needed with plenty of dishes and glasses. All the appliances were clean and worked well. The living room furniture was nice and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too. There were plenty of towels. The neighborhood is quiet. Overall a good experience!

Stayed at David's lakehouse for a long 28 days in Oct 2022. It was _perfect_! Recently remodeled and everything is quite new. Beds very comfortable, lighting soft and adjustable. Gas fireplace effective at keeping the place warm; central heating is great for the coldest days.
Packed with technological goodies: Nest thermostat, Apple TV, flatscreens, wireless chargers, Sonos sound system. The wifi was okay, but not very strong in the whole house.
We cooked all meals; kitchen is fantastically equipped. Toaster, oven, stovetop, coffeemaker, dishwasher, and everything else worked well. We used the outdoor gas grill almost daily and it was wonderful.
Out front you'll find plenty of parking space for a couple vehicles.
Out back is where the magic is. Stellar view of Great Sacandaga Lake. Very quiet. A beautiful Great Blue Heron lives closeby - we saw him daily. Large groups of wild turkeys wandered about. Deer, chipmunks, and even a mink in the water. Two rabbits live in the bushes and they make a daily appearance. And thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of geese making their winter migration.
Fantastic fire ring surrounded by Addirondak chairs. We enjoyed many campfires! A nice Amish guy gives away free firewood daily at an Amish sawmill in Palatine, NY along New Turnpike Road, just east of Saltsman Road (exact coordinates 42.983322, -74.551398).
The house is extremely well located for both hiking and biking. I recommend Murphy Bennett Lake Trail, Tenant Creek Falls, West Branch Sacandaga Gorge, and Stewart Lake & Indian Lake (find details on AllTrails.) Willie Wildlife Marsh also neat and easy if you have older folks visiting. Bike the Erie Canal Trail. (Tip: great bike shop nearby called Bike Barn).
For history, Check out Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site, The Fort Plain Museum & Historical Park, Herkimer Home, Fort Herkimer Church, and Fort Stanwix Monument. Go to historic Saratoga Springs. Great art museum in Canajoharie called Arkell.
David was extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating.
House is very secure, all doors and windows have locks. There are cameras on the front and back of the house.
Neighborhood is very quiet and, at least in October, we were pretty much the only ones there. I think many people visit their lakehouses only during the summer. We loved the peace and quiet.
In the end, it was a marvelous month at the lakehouse and everything was just perfect. No complaints at all. I hope I can stay again!

The property is as advertised. It was very cheery, comfy and cozy; and, it had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We did bring our own fishing gear and kayaks, but we could have left them at home, as the owner supplied everything one would need for a fishing vacation ... well ... minus the worms of course. We were also close to plenty of hiking trails located inside the Adirondacks. We would most definitely stay at this property again, if available. Thank you, homeowners, for sharing this lake gem with us.

I stayed here with my family for a week. We took full advantage of the fire-pit, the paddle boat, and the kayak. We fished every day. It was quiet and relaxing. The responsiveness of the owners was top-notch! Their instruction book was a huge help.

From booking the week at the lake house to locking the door and leaving, David made the entire week so stress free and relaxing. The home has everything you need, it’s clean, and completely updated.. Nearby activities such as Cooperstown, Saratoga Springs, and tubing on Great Sacandaga Lake made great day trips. Beautiful sunsets by the fire pit, while overlooking Mayfield lake, was a great way to cap off a day full of fishing, kayaking, and yard games. Big yard, quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors as well. I highly recommend a stay here.

The perfect spot to get away and relax! We rented the home from David and Kristine.. our family had an amazing week on the lake! The home was immaculate , beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable! The Location was ideal. We spent many hours kayaking and fishing on the lake. We spent a day in Saratoga springs and went to the racetrack.. it is not too far from this property. Overall, we would give this home a five star rating! We made so many great family memories here!!
