Works well for us - Daughter's family downstairs - complete 1 bedroom unit - while grandparents and living area upstairs. Starting to show age.

Location is awesome and the new furniture is great!

The beach is literally steps away from the house. The sand does have some medium size rocks but not too bad. The beach is very clean. There are alot of people who set up their chairs early so if you want a spot, you must get up early and set up chairs, umbrella or gazebo. If you are a people watcher and car watcher you will love this beach house. It is busy but the beach is very clean and there were no issues at all. The weather was awesome. Everything worked properly in the house. The beds were very comfortable. Parking is awesome: enough room for three cars which is unheard of in a beach area. Close to stores and restaurants and the harbor.

We have 6 children ranging from young adult to elementary age. This house has ample space for all of us and has great views and front door access to the beach, literally steps away. This is our second year booking and we will continue to do so. Thank you for the memories!

We stayed here for three weeks in February. It is fantastic. Great location, right on The Strand, great views from the balcony, perfect for sunsets. Wi-Fi is not the strongest. Internet conked out entirely during the Super Bowl, but that may have been a neighborhood issue. Nice to have a garage, and a big one at that. Didn't use the provided bikes or chairs in the garage, they looked a little dated, but seemed functional. The bed in the primary bedroom is now a king, and quite comfy. Kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, appliances, etc. Everything we needed. Some basic spices were there. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.

This is an amazing house right on the beach, we had a great time here. The view from the balcony and family room was spectacular. Watching the sunset on our balcony, family room and front patio was the highlight of each day, such an experience. Walking every morning on the beach with other friendly neighbors/people was unforgettable. Kitchen is fully equipped. Garage parking in the back was nice with its own remote control, made it easy to come and go. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved everything about this home. Location, location, location! Ample space, all queen comfortable beds, parking! So many pluses! Thursday Market up the road, restaurants/bars withing walking distance or a free local taxi service a phone call away! Only negative or more like upgrade opportunity for owners is to provide better quality toilet paper and paper towels. They were so thin a roll only lasts 2 days. Aside from those 2 minor thing, all was perfect! Thank you, we will be back!

The beach view and access are perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had 5 adults and plenty of space.

Great house right in the beach. Beautiful view of the ocean. The house is decorated to feel warm and welcoming. Kitchen is well stocked most everything you need to cook and feed a crowd. Fun spa bathtub and loved the glass shower. Downstairs was perfect for the grandkids with a trundle bed. Nice patio to have bbqs and fire pit to make s’mores.

We have been vacationing in Oceanside for ten years. The house we usually rent was occupied (how dare they!) and so we went with this one this year. We'll be immediately booking our regular house for next year.
First, the bad.
The master bed is a double, not a queen. !!!!!!! Definitely not meant for two full-grown adults.
The master bedroom door does not lock. And it's glass. So that's an issue.
The "office" in the listing (and on the floorplans) denote a separate space. Nope. It's merely a large entryway into the master bedroom. I had intended to put a couple kids there, but I guess not.
The listing says it sleeps eight. But there are only three beds. There are two futon-type couches that fold down, but no bedding for them. (One was deemed quite comfortable by my teenager, but the other was super scratchy. And again, no sheet to put on it.) So that's frustrating.
Again, despite saying it accommodates eight, the table only seats four. So the rest of us were precariously balancing plates on our laps.
THEY ONLY PROVIDE ONE TRASH BAG. We paid through the nose to stay here for a week. One garbage bag? Seriously?
The downstairs microwave didn't work.
The master bedroom provided zero space to put anything away. No dressers. No shelves. And the closet was locked. So our stuff was just piled up on the floor. I'm an organizer, so this drove me nuts all week.
The air conditioner only worked on the first floor, not the second.
The basement TV didn't work.
A couple weeks before our arrival, I reached out to Vacasa to ask if any beach gear was provided. I don't really care either way, I just wanted to know what to pack. I was told the house had one umbrella and two beach chairs. So I was quite surprised to see at least ten chairs, a plethora of sand toys, and a whole bunch of boogie boards in the garage. I was annoyed though; that means I could have saved a lot of room by not packing ours. (And it clearly indicates that the management company doesn't actually know the house.)
Now the good:
Seriously can't beat the location. The beach is RIGHT THERE. And lots of fun shops and eats within walking distance.
I appreciated the black-out curtains in the bedrooms. The basement bedroom in particular was pitch black.
The secret "bookshelf door" is just so fun. My kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. And it was!
I was quite impressed with their selection of books. There was a wide variety of interests and disciplines, some quite cerebral. Found some fun summer reads.
The kitchen was pretty well stocked. (Although no cookie sheets or baking dishes - but lots of pots and pans!)
The second floor living room provided lots of squishy chairs and seating; it was great to spread out. And the little balcony overlooking the beach was heavenly.
Having two "living room" spaces was delightful. We could send the teenagers to the basement and keep the noise decently contained.
They had plenty of towels; it's one of my pet peeves when it sleeps eight but provides four towels.
Having a garage was really nice - I know how rare that is here.
So conclusion: the house has great bones and with very little effort could be made really stellar. The master bedroom needs a new bed and a dresser or clothing rack. Also a new door. The listing needs to remove the office as a space, and clarify what beach gear is provided. Also fix the AC and the basement appliances too. And for crying out loud, provide your renters with supplies for the week.

The location is the best thing about this house. Otherwise, it’s awkwardly built, old and outdated (indoor AND outdoor furniture, appliances, decor, everything pretty much), hot inside with no ac/not adequate windows or fans, and not children/elderly adult friendly with the most narrow and slippery tile staircase. We received notice that we could check in early and arrived to a filthy house. Apparently, housekeeping didn’t get notice that we were able to check in 2 hours before and hadn’t cleaned. They cleaned the big stuff while we were there but it was very rushed and didn’t feel complete. They at least made the beds, threw out the trash, and swept the floor. No bed in the entire house was comfortable, there were ants in the living room, and the outdoor set-up was really dirty and rusted. I called the management company when we arrived to a dirty house and they tried to contact the local manager but got no response and they never called me back. Overall, I give it the two stars solely based on access to the beach and location of home.

The location and the size of the house are great but it needs work. The patio was full of weeds and the fire pit was rusted and falling apart. The outside of the home needs cleaning. The balcony furniture needs to be thrown out and the balcony cleaned. The railings are rusted and then painted over. The windows of the front of the house, both upstairs and downstairs don’t open so it gets stuffy. The master bedroom is in the back of the house with no airflow and only one window that opens. There is a ceiling fan that was helpful. There is no AC. The master bed is very high and difficult to get in if short. The internet did not work and the instructions on the website were wrong. I called, emailed and texted regarding the issue. They were supposed to send someone out the next day but never heard back. We reset the internet and it intermittently worked but not with the name that was given with check in and it was not a secure network. There are also some pictures of the owner’s children (I assume), which was a little odd. Overall, would not stay again. It is the least kept up of the properties on the north side of the strand. Choose one of the other properties unless it is only the location you are looking for.

The Strand provided the most amazing family getaway. We took my son’s family and second newborn. 18 month old big sister had a marvelous time on the beach. The house is amazing

The location and decor are so beautiful! It fit our group wonderfully. The management was responsive and helpful.

This home was awesome and made our week stay as memorable as it ever could be. The location, cleanliness, and comfortability of the home was above and beyond our expectations. My family and I will definitely rent this property again. Only downside was there was no A/C in the home, but luckily for us the weather was descent. Highly recommend.

The location and proximity to the ocean was great, that was pretty much the only thing that was nice. The house was dirty, old, outdated, hot, and not easily accessible.
8.0 / 10.0
The property and location was great. The two things that were a bit frustrating was the Wifi network and password were totally wrong and we had to go through the modem setup process to even get it working. Also wifi only worked in the front of the house not the back rooms. The other and I must have missed this when booking several months ago was no A/C except one bedroom downstairs.

Lots of room and beds and just footsteps from the beach. Pier and great little downtown area made for an amazing vacation!

House is very nicely decorated. Awesome location. Does need some updates on this inside.

Big, well stocked home with amazing location right on the beach. Walk right out the door and lounge in the sun or enjoy people watching from the decks or front windows. The house had a grill, fire pit, beach chairs and boogie boards to use. The interior of the house is a bit dated and could use a fresh coat paint but it was otherwise clean; the upstairs TV was broken but we stayed entertained people watching. Would stay here again based on location.

Great getaway
We loved this house. Parking is tough, but an overnight lot just up the street. Internet was not awesome and the instructions were not correct - the network mentioned were nowhere to be found. We rebooted and still no luck. Garage door openers were not found until last morning. We made it work, but it would have been nice if they were in a more obvious place.
