The oversized lot allows kids and family to sit, bbq, play cornhole and relax in the back yard while soaking in some beach sun and air. The rooms are spacious and the sun room is perfectly lit with lots of natural light. If you have small children don't worry, there is plenty of space in the yard to let them run around. I’ve been coming to a Oxnard/Camarillo since I was a kid- fantastic little getaway spot that’s close to just about everything! Definitely recommend this place. Thanks again to owner!

When we travel, we use vacation rentals. This property was clean. Everything worked as expected. Plenty of propane for bbg, and spa was a relaxing way to conclude our days. Host was very responsive. A definite place to come back to.

This is the second summer in a row that we have come. We love how quiet and near it is to all of the activities around. We will definitely be staying again next year!

Another fantastic stay. Our home away from Texas heat. Perfect for us. See you next time.

Unfortunately, the day before check in, one of our party tested positive for covid. I reached out to the owner asking if it would be possible to reschedule for a future date. Since this was a girls trip we were willing to go without the one person, but would prefer not to. The owner responded immediately that yes he would do that for us, he expressed concern, and told us that the the rest of July was booked, but to send him some dates so he could try to accommodate us. We were overjoyed-he was being so wonderful.
Now he won’t respond.
The rest of us would have gone anyway and used the reservation rather than be out the money.
He should have been truthful. He didn’t have to accommodate us and could have just said no, but he didn’t.

The house is nice & roomy, in need of some up grades and a few more amenities. No more rusted gate, they spray painted it...lol All the reviews are pretty much on point. The pans in the kitchen need replaced. They are junk
More lighting needed, especially in the air hockey room. The hot tub was sandy and basically a old tub full of hot water. The one jet is so powerful it will knock you over. Huge patio could use a outdoor dining table. Plenty of room for one, families do like to eat and gather outside. Some of the Patio bricks are in need of repair. My son fell into a sinkhole, notified Albert, he didnt seem concerned he never responed.
No propane still. No corn hole boards. No beach items available for guest use. Also the house could use a iron and ironing board, I was going to a graduation and wanted to iron my clothes....but nope

Home was nicely set up, outside patio was great. Hot tub could be updated and should be cleaned between each occupant though. Very short walk to the beach. The neighbors seemed nice and friendly. My family and I enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

Don’t let the rusted gate at the entrance fool you. Inside house was very clean and lots of space. Space heaters were provided because owners were waiting on parts for wall heaters. Great for bedrooms but did not help much in large living room. Disappointed that hot tub was dirty. Water clear though. Did not use.

Other than a couple of minor cleanliness issues upon check-in, we enjoyed our stay at this cute and roomy property.
The beds were comfortable, the area was quiet, and an easy drive to lots of amenities.
It was a great base to explore the area from! We would recommend it.

This is our second stay at the cozy Dunset home. We love it. Everything we were looking for and at a reasonable price. Already booked for Summer.

A nice place in a wonderful location -- roughly a half block from the marina and dozens of barking sea lions with the beach not much further.
The only two downsides from an otherwise wonderful stay is that while the skylights are wonderful for the house in the daytime, the house becomes very dark after the sun sets save for a couple of rooms. Also we were looking forward to using the grill for one of our dinners but there was no propane. Nothing to keep us from wanting to come back though.
The hosts did a great job with restaurant recommendations and the house was perfect for our needs.

The house is an original from the neighborhood and shows it’s age. Many neighboring properties have been remodeled or rebuilt. The property does have all the basics and a few perks (air hockey was fun). But lighting was dim, with several bulbs burnt out, we had to contact the owner to turn on the heaters, and the hot tub was full of sand and not too inviting. This place could use some more timely maintenance and some updates to bring it into the modern age - like electronic door locks, good lighting, etc.
On the plus side, location was very good — easy walk to the marina entry and the hundreds of sea lions living there, and a few more minutes to the wide open beach with views to the Channel Islands. Landlord was also responsive to our communications - much appreciated.

We had the best time, we were bummed the corn hole set was not available due to being damaged by prior guests however everything else was everything we hoped for and more.

This property was perfect for us. Super clean, very comfortable bed, steps to the bay, fast internet, very well stocked kitchen for cooking and baking. We have already booked another stay. Talk sweet to the kitchen overhead light, it will eventually come on when it’s good and ready! We spent every morning and evening walking to the bay to watch the boats, fishermen, children playing, kayakers. Sandwiches were great at Strandwich a block over. We woke up to the calling of sea lions; can’t hear that in Texas! Loved it all.

Great getaway!
I stayed with my husband and 21 month old son in June. The house was great and was well equipped with everything we needed. We also loved relaxing in the jacuzzi at night. The location was perfect…we were able to walk to the beach and several local spots for good. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon!
