Good location. Many varied walks direct from property, flat and moorland or along canal to Skipton or near villages.
Owner needs to be informed if guests are from overseas. A previous reviewer from US and myself from NZ could not receive communications from owner or Sykes Cottages/Booking.com- re property keys.Owner said she did not reply to abroad phone calls. Hence called much stress because of pick up then put down of calls.
Wooden sink bench needs replacing. Black rotten around tap and sink edges. Only one external door exit.Fire? No garden but described patio is around I metre direct road frontage. 'A tranquil escape' No-a rat run 0630-0900 and again 1500-1700 only a metre from cottage front. Unsuitable for young children as very steep stairs and NO outdoor space. A change of towels during our 8 day stay would have been helpful as nowhere to dry anything.
I have previously lived in a cottage well over 200 years old and understand the quirks. Advice- take out some of badly painted overlarge furniture not needed.

We were met by the lovely owner who showed us where everything was and was there at out allotted time. The cottage was clean and warm upon arrival and the key handover was as friendly as our previous visit last year.

The cottage has loads of character in a lovely village. It is a perfect location to visit Ilkley, Skipton, Haworth and the Dales.

We personally loved the location. Canal near by a beautiful church behind us. The cottage itself on arrival was very sweet, we did have an issue connecting with the owner and the co. That was renting for her, not available after 6 , we had tried since 4 to get a hold of them never did. Fortunately the owner who we couldn’t get a hold of either, and nor could one of Bookings reps, the owner met us at the property finally.
Though the furnishings looked comfortable it was difficult to get comfortable. The bed was great bathroom wonderful, large bath and great shower(just to let Heather the owner know there is a pin hole in the shower head which will probably get worse quickly since the shower is amazingly powerful! )The House was warm and very comfortable!
I broke 2 water glasses while I was there, there were two dish drainers a very small one to put plates and glasses in, it would have been better to have one large one, after I broke the second glass another day .. I just don’t think there was enough room to put the dishes in it. Also they were bottom heavy, lovely for not spilling but not so great turned upside down to wash🥴The washing up bowl was too large for the sink, small sink, and surrounded by a wood countertop, which I was terrified to use since I didn’t want to have further damage to the top which was water stained around the opening.
It all looked beautiful but not very practical.

Property was well presented and very comfortable and cosy. The position of the cottage is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. Cottage has plenty of room for guests and the beds were very comfortable. Great cottage for relaxing break.
Never had any issues

Well, you can't say it isn't close to a good pub! And, if God rather than mammon is your thing a Church too. It scores highly for canals as well and a frequent reminder of the time.
Nothing rings a bell.

The place was really old, the owner didn’t know how old, but well over 200 years. We had everything we needed here. Lots to see and do in the area.
There wasn’t any bath soaps for the beautiful tub, just a sanitizer type soap for washing hands. The kitchen was nice, but a bit small for the 3 of us. Salt and pepper would have been nice, but she had a little basket with jam, sugar, and tea.

Lovely quirky cottage in a nice location. Handy for all we wanted

The property has lots of character and was a delight to stay in. The cottage is beautifully done up and a good location for Haworth and Skipton.
