Soft pillows, cold AC, and hot coffee in the morning!

This is a hotel you book on the way to somewhere, not as a destination. Having said that, the staff really do care that you enjoy your stay, any stars given in review are earned by them.

It isn’t really fair to say what I didn’t like as it’s an old hotel and I knew all the issues before I arrived.

One step up from sleeping in your car.

No breakfast. Just some granola bars and a coffee pot.. No coffee pot in the room. Didn't like anything. Actually did not stay. Handed keys back and found other lodging options.

Room heat was broken. Thermostat set at 70. Room was at 59 degrees. Owner said it should heat up eventually and that there is something wrong with the boiler that he cannot fix. We cranked thermostat to max and still no change. Next room had blood smeared across outside door. Rooms are very small and place is a lot sketchier than it looks in the pictures. Nearest grocery store sells nothing but humongous bottles of booze. Kinda sketchy.

Cold sleepless night.

The location was great.

Showed up and there was no heat. The room was capped at 52°, the front desk said it was done to save money and wasn't anything he could fix. There was no toilet paper and the room was dirty.

A nightmare

We arrived at the property around 3:30 pm for check in. There was nobody there to check us in. called the number posted in the official, spoke with property manager Kristian, who told us to wait 15 minutes in our vehicle and he would be there to check us in. (after driving 4 hours with 2 snowmobiles on a trailer) sat in our vehicle on the street as the parking lot was full of snow and vehicles. See the manager Kristian come out of a bar walking to property. He tells us he doesn’t have a clean room for us because others paid an extra $200 to extend their stay and that he would have to get ahold of the housekeeper as she was gone too. Voiced my disappointment in the situation and he told us we could leave. He told us he would cancel our reservation to only find out now that he did not cancel the reservation and the money for a three day stay was taken out of our account! I contacted Kristian when I saw it had not been canceled and he told me there was nothing he could do. contacted booking.com who contacted him and he told them we were a NO SHOW! I would not recommend this property to anyone! We stayed there 1 time prior after Kristian started managing this property and that time we had no towels because he said the motel had been full and he didn’t have time to do the laundry! Thought we would give it a second chance and even worse the second time around had to find other accommodations last minute! Thankfully we were able to find accommodations. Kristian is not a honest man and has all kinds of riff raff hanging around the property!

Overall we slept well except for the people next door.

The beds were super comfortable.

There were grown men fighting in the stairwell outside the room. Then in the parking lot under the window. Pretty noisy. The soap was tiny.

good location

no garbage cans, no shampoo, WiFi password didn’t work list on paper in room. got to the room two hours after making reservation, rooms where not ready and the person was in inconvenienced by my arrival, had to wait another half hour for rooms to be “cleaned” haha ya right. he complain the whole time about the booking service. And gave me some big long speech about how, I could only use part of the rooms. Otherwise he had to pay for something to be cleaned or something and he would have to charge me more if I used the other half of the room.

Terrible management Kristian! Very disappointed!

We had not one towel in our room ! We called the manager in the morning for some towels and he didn’t answer the phone, so left a message and no call back . My husband called a few hours later and he finally answered and said he didn’t have clean towels no no but he had some in the dryer and they’d be ready in 20 minutes so er went to breakfast and were gone for a couple hours and my husband went back into the office to see if the towels were ready and they still were not ready. My husband said this is ridiculous and my wife is not very happy because she couldn’t shower this morning. His response was why don’t you just hit me I know you wanna hit me. We never did get any towels. The people next to us had one towel for three people that they had to share as well. The grounds was full of cigarette butts, and there were some dirty towels laying on the sidewalk. My husband and I have stayed there many, many times before with the previous owners, and it was always very kept up and very clean. It’s really gone downhillI ! We ended up going to Walmart and bought some towels! We will never stay there again.

Not worth the hassle. You

The hotel was overbooked when we got there. They didn't have a room for us. We were still charged. I had to go through my bank to get my room reimbursed. The hotel manager would not reimburse me.

A room away from the rain, we had planned on camping.

The guy at the front desk was extremely rude to me. I walked in the hotel and waited a few minutes. He came in storming and started yelling at me and shaking his head, took me outside the hotel and pointed at a sign that said "call for service ****", he was furious at me for not calling right away, it was very odd. Seems to me he has anger issues, we needed the room as it was raining and we were on our motorcycles and tired so I didn't argue with him. Really bad experience.

Tarrantino Movie a like location that I liked

Arrived at night and thr setting reminded me to a spooky Motel in an Tarrantino Movie, but at least it was‘nt too bad, I actually liked it. Room has been clean, bed was comfortable, shower was good, instantly hot water, perfectly working AC I‘ve booked it as an alternative to the expensive Hotels along Scenic Circle Drive at Lake Superior, so as Bayfield, and I wasn‘t disappointed at least. Although a 60 Miles drive from these nice beaches and villages there, it was a good way to get a stay for a reasonable room rate.
