"A perfect naturalist’s hideaway unique to Grand Cayman
This spacious house, owned by naturalist and photographer Frank Roulstone, sits on a forested hilltop on Grand Cayman’s Northeast coast overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The property is primary forest on karst limestone with many endemic plant species and other rare regional plants including West Indian Cedar, Ironwood and the Wild Banana orchid.
The galleries around the home are one of the best places on Grand Cayman to identify and photograph the 13 endemic species of land birds including parrots, woodpeckers, vireos, and bullfinches as well as migrants from August to May with 60 species recorded.
Across from the property are beaches with excellent snorkeling and seasonal nesting sites for 3 species of sea turtles.
I cannot recommend this site more, it is spectacular.

This was a large and spacious home in the nestled deep in the heart of paradise. The house was clean and had adequate amount of seating for our party of eight. The kitchen was fully stocked and we never ran short of the necessities for cooking or serving our group. The air conditioning was awesome and made the home so comfortable. We would stay there again.

My family of six adults recently stayed at this lovely house for nine days, our first visit to Grand Cayman. We chose it for its location; away from the crowds at 7 Mile Beach.
If you want bars, restaurants, nightlife, and shopping, this is not the place for you. The house is nestled in 11 acres of protected forest, away from the main road down a long driveway. It's lovely and tranquil and surrounded by nature, which is just what we wanted. Three members of our family are serious birders, and they were enchanted with the wide variety immediately surrounding the house, as well as the nearby viewing opportunities just a short drive away. We saw agoutis in the yard a few times, which was fun!
The house is open and airy with many sliding doors to the outdoors. As I am a mosquito magnet, I appreciated the screened in patio and upstairs balcony that ran the length of the house. There is a small swimming pool that is unheated, but lovely for a refreshing afternoon dip.
The kitchen was huge and well-equipped and except for two restaurant meals, we cooked very well at the house. We also used the gas grill on the patio.
Frank, the owner, was great with communication and information, and he had a wonderful library of books on nature and the environment in the Caymans which got a lot of use during our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to return to this house again!

The house was a perfect place for relaxation and quiet!!! It was a quick drive to Rum Point and all the trees provided some interesting birds and lots of awesome tree frogs!!! Loved staying there!!!

If you are looking for a private place in paradise, this villa is the place to stay. You’ll be on a secluded lot in a well-appointed house that is quiet, comfortable, and secure. The kitchen is wonderfully designed with everything you need. The host is gracious and accommodating. His driving directions and grocery guidance were much appreciated. I couldn’t find a brush to clean the grill, and a new one (along with beautiful, new stainless grill equipment) was delivered silently the next morning. So, 5 stars for responsiveness! You’ll want a car to get groceries and see the rest of the island (highly recommend the botanical gardens). If you are looking for white sand and crowds on a daily basis, this place is not for you. If you want to relax and recharge, this place IS for you. The AC was superb, and there are ceiling fans galore. Wi-Fi was flawless. Beds comfortable and furnishings excellent. We found the pool cold and some closets are clearly a work in progress, but these minor concerns did not detract from our stay. Highly recommend for a secluded, romantic getaway!
