The Neighborhood:
The apartment is in the Eixample neighborhood, which is known for its geometrical grid design and is Barcelona’s most instantly recognised neighborhood. The neighborhood offers several bars and restaurants, as well as designer and high-street shopping. It is home to some of the city’s greatest Modernist architecture.
You may simply stroll around the neighborhood by going toward the corner of the Eixample known as Sant Antoni, which is a trendy district popular with millennials and home to chic cafés and a few clothing boutiques. There are some fine town houses, as well as many shops and companies, at the Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample, or “Old Corner of the Extension.” The “Gaixample,” the Eixample’s bustling gay enclave, is also located here, with several LGBT+ friendly clubs, bars, and hotels.
When it comes to shopping, Barcelona’s Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample is the focus of designer and luxury retail. Luis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Channel, and other world-famous fashion companies, as well as high-street jewels like & Other Stories, Uterqüe, and, of course, the Spanish behemoth Zara, can be found here.
Getting Around:
The Eixample is located in the heart of Barcelona, where uptown neighborhoods like Sarrià and Gràcia meet the ancient Old Town, which includes the Gothic Quarter and El Born. Taking the bus to and around the Eixample is simple because to its large streets and grid pattern—just remember that streets alternate directions, with one going uptown and the other going downtown.
The closest metro station is Plaça Universitat (Lines 1 & 2).
The quickest way to go to the airport would be taking the bus "Aerobus" at Plaça Catalunya, in front of "El Corte Inlges". The cost is around 4.5€

Plenty of room for our group of 9! Location is perfect to everything. Apartment is very clean, but as the building is very old, we had some issues with the showers draining/overflowing on day one, and a running toilet on day 3. The wood flooring is coming up in places near and there is mold/rotting on the trim due to long term water damage. Also, it would be nice to have thicker/warmer bedding as the blankets were not much thicker than the sheets. The host was very quick to respond and get the showers and toilet fixed. Host also provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and a cooking class! I would definitely stay again despite the minor issues.

Host was very active and prompt in helping out on the things we needed assistance with.
Spacious and beautiful place. Location is excellent.
Perfect place to stay for family.

Our family stayed in this apartment for a week during Thanksgiving week. Six adults, five bedrooms/baths. This was a very clean and large apartment perfect for a family to spread out. Could easily accommodate 5 couples. Check in was easy and the host was quick to respond to every message/phone call.
This is an amazing location. We were able to walk to several surrounding neighborhoods to explore, eat, drink, visit museums, etc. The apartment is steps away from the underground, bus station, shopping, etc. Passeig de Gracia is just around the corner as well.
There is a market next door as well, very convenient.
We stopped at the local bar (Cervecería Ogham) right next door to the apartment each night for a pint and a snack before we went to dinner. If you are into craft beer, this is the place. You wont be disappointed.
La Rambla is very close walk which we walked through several times to go to Mercat de la Boqueria. We also walked to the Gothic quarter several times to explore museums, bars, sites, Basilica, etc.
We used public transportation to visit Botanical gardens, La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and other neighborhoods. We had Barcelona Passes that gave us unlimited access to all the public transportation. Taxis are everywhere as well.
In response to prior reviewer comments on the graffiti - this is part of the culture Not a sign of "bad area"
We had a great vacation & would stay here again. We would recommend to anyone looking to visit Barcelona.

Overall the remodel looks impressive but the building is extremely old and has not been renovated. It has been repeatedly tagged with graffiti and is very rough and poorly maintained. The renovated unit had a major leak at the entrance with mold growing in the walls and buckled base boards. The drains in the shower could not manage the water from from the rain shower heads and flooded the floors of the bathroom. The location is not a “neighborhood” but located on a major intersection of very two busy and loud streets and across from a university. Definitely not luxurious or quaint neighborhood vibe the picture and post suggest. Do more research and find a place with a reputable “super host” that has many reviews posted so you can be assured of what you are getting.
