About this cottage rental
Affectionately nicknamed 'Castle Aidan', this year-round family cottage offers over 3,500 square feet of living space which comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests.
Take in the breathtaking and unobstructed views of beautiful Little Kennisis Lake from countless vantage points both inside and out.
A well-stocked kitchen offers a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, kettle, and coffee makers (regular, Espresso, and Keurig). You may also find a collection of spices in the cupboard. The water is drinkable as it comes from a drilled artesian well 400 feet underground and undergoes a filtration and reverse osmosis process.
An entertaining games room with basketball, video game arcade, pool table, poker table, darts, and board games along with an outdoor BBQ, indoor wood fireplace and outdoor fire pit (firewood included) are provided for guests' enjoyment and use. In-floor radiant heating in the games room will keep you cozy during the winter.
Other winter experiences to enjoy:
1. Snowmobiling at the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve (9 minutes away) considered the top 10 snowmobiling trail in North America. Our lot accommodates sled trailers of various sizes.
2. Dog sledding at Winterdance Tours or North Ridge Ranch
3. Wolf Centre at the Haliburton Wolf Centre
4. Skiing or Snowboarding at Sir Sam's
5. Guided Ice Fishing
If you are a foodie, take time to pick up some yummy treats from the West Guildford Shopping Centre. We love the butter tarts and many people enjoy the sausages. The baked goods (seasonal goodies and sprinkled donuts) at the Foodland in town is also wonderful. Finally, the Korean Fried Chicken at K pub Chicken is awesome!
Bell Fibre high-speed internet provides consistent speeds for streaming your favourite apps on Amazon Fire Stick TVs or Zoom calls while you "work from home" at the cottage.
Enjoy a game of badminton in the large open backyard overlooking the lake or walk down a set of stairs to over 130 feet of waterfront with deep clean water off the dock great for swimming, fishing or water sports (paddle board, kayak, and canoe are provided). A public boat launch is located only a few minutes away and the Marina is close by on Kennisis Lake if you wish to rent a watercraft.
The main level of this Cottage is wheelchair friendly with a ramp leading to the front door, Murphy bed, low bathroom sink, and walk-in shower.

We stayed for 3 days at this beautifull cottage which comfortably accommodated our entire family. The well-equipped kitchen, new hot tub, and private dock provided the perfect ingredients for a relaxing retreat. The game room with the attached bar and dining area was a particular hit with the boys.
The tranquillity of the lakeside setting, complemented by the rustic charm of the cottage, and the breathtaking views from the property were truly unforgettable.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience was witnessing the mesmerizing northern lights from the unique attic, making our family vacation truly memorable.
Dan's responsiveness and helpfulness ensured a seamless experience from booking to checkout.

We spent 5 days over Christmas at the cottage and had a lovely time. Its charming and quirky,
and the kids were thrilled with everything there was to explore. It’s definitely on the rustic side and possibly in need of some tlc here and there in the near future, but nothing to worry about at this stage. Dan was very responsive and friendly. I don’t get the impression he’s there all that often and I think it’s the kind of place that could do with an owner stay/assessment from time to time to make sure everything is up to scratch given the age. New hot tub was fab. Kitchen lacking a few things that we consider basic (cheese grater, scissors - unless we just couldn’t find them), but it’s pretty well equipped overall. Ladder/stairs to attic sleeping area quite steep and only suitable for kids/teens really. In general this is a grea place to have a fun holiday with family and friends.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Everyone really enjoyed the property. The game room was nice and the supplied boats we used more than we expected. The only one we didn’t use was the stand up paddle board.
The house was very clean with one small exception, previous guests had left a dirty baking pan in the oven that apparently the cleaners had missed but that was not a big deal.
Dan, the host, was very quick to respond with any questions we had and that ease of communication really helps the overall experience.
That part of Canada is so pretty.

Everything about this property is stunning. The view is exceptional, the lake is nice and quiet, the dock is the perfect size for lounging around with friends, and the cottage is massive with plenty to do.
If you have mobility concerns, this is not the place for you between the amount of stairs and slopes.
Overall, it was a perfect weekend. Time moves faster when you're out on the dock with friends, the weekend just slipped by!

We recently stayed at this cottage and were so pleased with the location. The beautiful cottage was large enough for my family to stay comfortably and it has some amazing unique aspects that made it even more fun. The attic is so unique. We loved the view and although it was lovely in the winter we could really appreciate how great this place would be in the summer. The games provided were a huge hit with the kids. The host was easy to communicate with and I recommend this cottage for any family.
