Outdoor Fun for Everyone

• Herschel Public Beach on Baptiste Lake: A popular spot with a sandy shoreline and clear waters, ideal for swimming, picnicking, and enjoying the day.
• Diamond Lake Beach: Located about 20 minutes west of Bancroft, this beach offers a sandy shoreline and public boat launch, perfect for families.
• Papineau Beach: A quiet, scenic beach with shallow waters, located about 40 minutes away, great for families with small children.
• Hinterland Beach: This secluded beach on Kamaniskeg Lake offers a sandy entry, perfect for a hot summer’s day.

Nearby Adventures Await
Explore Bancroft’s scenic lookouts, hiking trails, ATV paths, and rushing rapids nearby, including Eagles Nest, Papineau Beach, and Egan Chutes Provincial Park. Bancroft itself has a rich history dating back to Ontario’s “gold rush” era, and its heritage as the “Mineral Capital of Canada” makes it a fascinating place to explore. With 36 miles of boating on nearby Baptiste Lake, you’re set for endless exploration on the water.

Winter Wonderland
Snowmobiling, ice fishing, and nearby winter trails make this an ideal cozy getaway, with plenty of space in the yard for building snowmen, snowball fights, or tossing a ball for furry friends.

The property is great , adequate facility and space. Our stay was comfortable. host is great, bonfire and lake view amazing. I will return in winter. The cottage had enough pillows beds towels and basic toiletries and kitchen had all needs filled up. Deck is amazing , we saw some deers too around passing by. The only concern is the Lake water quality, shoreline and no possibility to swim at shoreline. Water at lake upto 30 feet is shallow to 5 and half feet or so. The lake bed is terrible, it sinks you in when you step in and every step is a challenge. you get stuck in mud or all the left over vegetation rotting down. Water smelled horrible . Lake is not meant for swimming I saw no-one in water across on other cottages. Saw people on docks but not inside water. My kayak flipped on 1st day and that is when I found out the lake situation, i did not even think abt going to water again.

We stayed at the cottage in late September and had a great time. The cottage is large, clean and well furnished. Location is convenient, relatively close to Bancroft but still quite quiet.

This was our first summer getaway at a cottage. In the past, we have always camped. As such, and given the steep rental fee, we were expecting luxurious accommodation (by comparison), with all the amenities. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The cottage was spacious and reasonably clean, but the kitchen was not particularly well-equipped, and the bathrooms were not stocked with bathing supplies or many towels, as advertised. Our biggest disappointment was the poor water access and quality. The shoreline was mucky, full of algae and fallen trees and very shallow. There appeared to be a couple of floating docks on the property, but they were on land, upside down, 50 m from the shore. It was a hot, humid week and we did not swim even once, nor did we see any of the neighbours in the water. We did use the kayaks (okay) and canoe (terrible) on one occasion. Thankfully, we came equipped with our own board games, kitchen tools, beach towels and yoga mats and had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The property was amazing with a lot of space (inside & outside), modern decor, great amenities, and incredibly peaceful. Loved the hot tub, kayaks/canoe, fire pit, and games included. Lake is small & shallow but great for kayaking. The owner answered all questions immediately and the entire stay was awesome. Sad to leave.
