Great location
This flat is in a great location. Close to public transport, shops and a fantastic selection of restaurants and cafes.
The flat is generally as described and has some quaint qualities, such as a side table on wheels that love's to move across the room all by its self.
We would have not hesitation in visiting again.

Fantastic location, superb communication and excellent flexibility of owners
We had a lovely stay! Paulo was an excellent host, with clear communication at every point of contact. We arrived early and the staff hustled to have our place prepared so we could check in early after our long flight. We also were permitted late check out. Halls were freshly painted at the time of our visit. Windows open fully to allow for ventilation. Fans available as well. Location was perfect. Short walk to the tube, lots of shops and restaurants right out of our front door. Thank you for a wonderful stay in London.

Excellent customer service and location
I actually did not stay at this flat, because maintenance was necessary there so Paulo offered us an upgrade to larger neighboring duplex (Property # 980621). However, VRBO will only allow me to leave a review here, so I have to state upfront that I never even saw the inside of this specific flat. However, I will say that Paulo and his team provided terrific customer service, and the duplex we stayed at was fantastic. Because it is nextdoor to this one, I will also note that the neighborhood is great. Public transit options include the tube within a 10-minute walk or a bus right outside the apartment. We took the bus frequently because I had my 11 and 4-year old children with me, and the younger one in particular got tired of walking so much. There are many excellent restaurant choices within a few blocks, and convenience and grocery stores nearby. If you are visiting with kids, you might like to know that the Highbury Fields playground, just north of the Highbury & Islington tube station, is wonderful. Additional very nice playgrounds are located at Barnard park a little further away to the southeast. For vegetarians/vegans, we highly recommend checking out EZ & Moss, an outstanding cafe just north on Holloway Rd. The neighborhood of this flat is busy, but we did not find it disturbingly noisy - even on nights when there was an event at the Islington Town Hall across the street and there were some rowdy folks outside, it was not loud inside. Next time I'm in London, I will definitely look to stay at one of Paulo's properties again and would love to be back in this location.

Great location!
Super easy to book travel and wonderful location. It was super nice to have the 2 bedrooms and the well stocked kitchen.
Definitely an older building that could use a little paint and bathroom updating but certainly can’t beat the price and people are great to work with and really convenient.

The London Flat we Called Home!!!
From the moment we booked this High St property all the way from NZ to the moment we left we had a fantastic experience. Paulo and his team provide an excellent service. Highly communicative and a service ethic second to none. We had descriptive emails, detailed information and kind words from when we booked 4 months prior to when we left.
The flat is in the most perfect location. Buses directly across the road taking you to all major sites, a choice of two tube stations, enough restaurants, bars, food outlets and shopping to keep you going for weeks. The flat itself is impeccably clean, very stylish and has every conceivable mod con needed for a home away from home. Everything about this flat is comfortable from the beds, to the wide couch that doubles as a bed for extra family. Nespresso machine, wide screen TV, free WIFI, an entire kitchen dedicated to a family's every need. Excellent near new appliances, warm cosy and beautifully appointed style and design wise. We utilised this flat as though it was our home.
Service wise Paulo and his team are second to none! Local information was given and shared. It was our daughter's first visit to London from the antipodes and everything was perfect, down to allowing us to purchase a Nordic Spruce Tree and share a proper English Christmas. We cannot speak highly enough of this property. It was superb!! I would go back in a heart beat and intend to! Highly recommended to anyone that wants a true London experience within moments of getting to major attractions or just staying within the area.
To Paulo and his team we thank you with all of our hearts. It was such a special trip for us, made even more so by the kindness of you and your team, your open communication and your wonderful, exquisite apartment. See you again soon!! xxx

Great place to stay to visit London
This property is well placed -- close to everything. It's very quiet and comfortable.
Paulo (the owner) is very thorough and his preparedness makes for an easy stay. The place was spotless with plush towels and good bedding. My only complaints were the lack of a microwave and a drooling shower. We only stayed one night, as we moved to a 2 BR owned by Paulo. I think you can improve the shower issue by turning up the temp of the hot water on the boiler. We managed this in the second place and the shower was actually decent.

Was upgraded to an apartment that was a two floor flat, instead of the one floor flat I had reserved.

Great location, nice apartment
Paul's place was our first stop on our vacation, and it was definitely a highlight! The location of the apartment was great, with lots to walk to and quick access to the Tube.
The apartment itself was clean, and the bed was the most comfortable of our stay anywhere. I am a clean freak about beds, and this one was super clean and comfortable. The layout is a bit different than pictured here, but overall the pictures are accurate and represent where you'll be staying.
The neighborhood can get a bit rowdy at night, even on weeknights! Luckily, the bedroom is in the back, so the noise didn't wake us, but it's something to know. I mean, in my younger days that would have been a part of the appeal! ;)
A short walk would bring you by great bakeries, toy shops, pizzerias, Greek restaurants, Italian restaurants, and pubs and cafes. There was a Gelateria a few blocks down that my daughter loved, and my husband was addicted to the Bakewell tarts at Costa. Yes, it's a chain, but so good. You're a short walk to Angel station and a shorter one to Highbury/Islington.
Paul was also super responsive to any questions we had.
I can't give a full 5 stars because while we were staying there was an issue with the bathroom which I had to alert Paul to on the day we arrived. I was surprised no one had told him before- the water would randomly scald you. I was traveling with a small child and couldn't bathe her (or myself!) comfortably because of it. I will say he was super quick to get an engineer in the apartment, but of our 5 day stay, 3 of them involved workmen needing access to the bathroom, which was in the bedroom, and us having to vacate with little or no notice. I understood his goal was to get it fixed and Paul didn't realize the amount of work it would entail or that it would take several days. But it definitely was a hassle to work around, and while I understand it's fixed now it definitely was a downer during our stay.
Overall, I recommend Paul's place. It was seamless and he was responsive and generous with his flexibility.

Very tidy and comfortable one bedroom apartment. Highly recommended.
We booked this apartment because it was only 10 minutes walk to visit our family who live nearby and would definitely book it again when we visit from New Zealand. The two easily accessible tube stations made getting around London easy. The double bed (which in New Zealand would be called a Queen sized bed) was very comfortable, the linen was fresh and the bedroom was quiet being at the back of the building away from Upper Street traffic. The apartment was clean and well equipped for our needs. There are lots of eating places to choose from in Upper Street. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent. Ideal location. Clean. Good transportation. Paulo very responsive.
My experience was excellent. Paulo and his team were very responsive from booking, throughout the stay until departure. Good communication and concern for my stay was much appreciated. Obtaining keys was easy. House instructions for all appliances clear, helpful hints and activities are all printed out in the flat. Very helpful. Comfortable bed.
Location excellent with good transportation-- both buses and tubes. Islington cafes and restaurants fantastic. Islington is a fun area to stay in. Plus I had gorgeous sunny weather almost every day of the two weeks! Thank you Paulo and team.

Nice Apartment in Excellent Location
We had a good experience in this property. The owner has gone to great lengths to think of everything for making a nice stay, from cell phones to tourist information to books and games. Communication with the owner was excellent. The property was clean and well equipped to suit our needs. The location was fantastic! We were within close walking distance to both the Angel & Highland/Islington Tubes and the bus stop was right outside the door. There were plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from.

Great apartment in a great neighborhood
My group really enjoyed our stay in Paulo's apartment with it's great location by nearby public transportation and local restaurants. The apartment itself was cozy for my group of three, but supplied everything that we needed and was a great stay!

Nice Flat and perfectly located
This is a great apartment in a such a fun neighborhood. There are so many bars and restaurants in the area. It wa was ideally located between 2 tube stations, either Highbury & Islington or the Angel. Either station would get us to the city center within 20 minutes. This flat had everything we needed, wifi, full kitchen, with a washer. We loved the location and would go back. This flat was perfect for us a family of 5. Paulo and his team were so accommodating and professional.

Nice apartment in a good location
The apartment was an easy walk from the Highbury/Islington station. It looks like it does in the pictures on the website. Everything was clean when we arrived. As other guests said, there are different kinds of restaurants nearby and you'll be sure to find something you like. The one drawback was the noise from the karaoke bar next door, on Friday and Saturday nights. We should have complained to Paulo or his staff on Saturday morning but didn't, so that was our fault. We did see an earlier complaint a few years ago but nothing since then, so we thought it had been taken care of. Other than that, the other nights were very quiet. The location is good and it's easy to find your way with either the bus (right across the street) or the trains. Paulo answered our questions (via emails) promptly. We ate at the Blue Legume, Nem Nem, Isarn, The Bull, Belle Epoque, Workers Cafe and Udderlicous. All are on Upper St and were very good.

Great location!
We really enjoyed our stay at the flat, it was clean and very comfortable. The entrance is located on a street that has dozens of resteraunts and bars. Basically we walked out the door to all the amenities you could imagine. The train is only a few blocks away we downloaded the Tube Map App and it was great to navigate though the subway system as well buy an Oyster card to swipe in and out of subway. It is easy to get to Oxford street, or Picadilly Circus only 15 minutes. We had breakfast daily from one of the 4 bakeries located on the block food was delicious. Area is very safe and people are friendly we recommend this vrbo.

Great apartment in great neighborhood
My son and I visited London from Texas and stayed in this apartment. First of all, the customer service was great. Our flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours. Since we were originally supposed to arrive prior to check-in time, Paolo's team was available to let us in early to drop our luggage off--of course we ended up being late, but still prior to check-in time. The apartment was clean and had all of the conveniences we needed- power adapters, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. The location was great for public transportation. We thought we would travel by tube most of the time, but there are 4 bus routes right outside the door which took us just about anywhere we wanted to go. The booklet in the apartment had great tips for dining, transportation and things to do around London as well as guides for appliances and furniture in the apartment. We enjoyed breakfast at the Workers' Café downstairs and had Sunday Roast at the Pig and Butcher on Liverpool Street, which was very good, too! Another meal we enjoyed in the neighborhood was the Coq au Vin at La Petite Auberge on Upper Street.
All in all, a great stay

Perfect flat, perfect location, wonderful host
I stayed in Paulo's outstanding flat for 2 months and immediately felt at home. The flat is well-equipped, clean, comfortable, and the location is unbeatable. The bedroom is in the back of the flat, allowing for quiet and peaceful evenings while at your doorstep are all the restaurants and nightlife of Angel/Islington. I would recommend this to single travelers/couples visiting London for the long-term or short-term guests looking for a solid base in one of London's best neighborhoods. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Amazingly central and well-appointed flat in one of the best neighbourhoods in London!
I rented this flat while in London for work rather than staying at hotel. It was definitely the right decision as the location was very convenient (all I had to do was cross the road and catch No. 4 bus to get the office) which it made it great for business and pleasure (most of my friends met me in and around Upper Street).
Paul and team are like clockwork and everything worked to plan (getting keys, etc.). Everything was as advertised (which is always a worry when staying somewhere new). I was not disappointed and I will stay here again.
2.5
I have to be totally honest, not only the house had everything I expected as all the other details exceeded my expectations, infos about surroundings, some nice treats and specially instructions on how some stuff worked - TV, Boiler, etc.
The other plus was the area - Near Highbury but also near Angel tubes, and filled with shops, services and young people trendy atmosphere
Is good when all goes good, many thanks and great Value for Money

The apartement is clean, spacious and well maintained and the lady who welcomed us was cheerful and helpful. Although the apartment is on Uppper Street and above a café, the bedroom is at the back and even if there was noise on the street during the evening and night, it didn't stop us sleeping. The kitchen is large and well equipped and preparing meals is no problem. We never met the owner but he responded promptly and efficiently to e-mails during the booking process and left a thick and comprehensive book of very useful instructions and recommendations. An I-Pod dock, a mobile phone (Nokia 610) and a Nespresso machine were additional nice touches. Buses to and from Kings Cross/St. Pancras and the West End pass in front of the door every ten minutes; underground and overground stations are within walking distance, as are small shops and large supermarkets. Two slight problems are: 1) the steep staircase up to the apartment - travelers with large suitcases might find this a problem and 2) access to the bathroom is only through the main bedroom, which is fine for families but not perhaps for two couples. It worked fine for us, one couple and 1 young single. In short, a pleasant and well-run apartment which added to our enjoyment of being in swinging London!

We had a quick 9 day stay in London & were specifically looking for accommodaiton in Islington. Paulo's apartment was very nicely appointed with good quality furnishings. There was good storage so items could be put away
There were 3 of us staying in the flat so the pull our sofa was the extra bedroom. We were assured by our daugther that it was one of the most comfy sofa type beds she's slep it.
The nespresso coffee maker was a nice touch.
The apartment is in a great location on Upper Street. a very quick walk down to HIghbury Islington Station - which was great & also easy for us to connect to St Pancras International. Bus stops less than a minute away - very easy!Great shops & restaurants in the area - we dined somewhere different every night. It's an easy location to travel from if you're staying in London.
Lots of nice touches by the Team & excellent communication in relation to everything for the aparment & our booking. Paulo was prompt in clarifying things for us & very accommodating with our schedule.

My wife and I stayed in the Islington apartment for a week in late October. The location was absolutely ideal. There are shops, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc., all within easy walking distance. There are two Underground stations within a 10 minute walk and a bus stop almost immediately across the street, so access to Central London is super easy. Upper Street is very lively, especially on the weekends. The apartment faces the street so there can be significant street noise, but this is not a problem for anyone sleeping in the bedroom as it is in the back of the apartment. Sleeping on the pullout couch in the living room could be problematic for light sleepers. For 6 of our 7 nights there, noise was not an issue. However, on Friday night noise from the Karaoke bar (just below and next door) went on until 2:00 AM. I complained about this to the landlord who said he emailed the bar about it and there was no problem Saturday night. Whether it was due to his complaint or for some other reason is unknowable. The apartment was very clean and fully outfitted with appliances, although some of the furnishings appeared a bit worn and a fresh coat of paint might be in order. I would recommend the property without reservation for weeknights. Given the potential noise factor from the Karaoke bar, weekends could pose an issue.

We made our arrangements online and having never been to London we didn't know what to expect. We were given excellent directions on how to get to the apartment from Heathrow and upon arrival we were greeted by a pleasant woman who explained everything to us everything we needed to know. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment and were quite pleased with the location. As promised, the apartment is conveniently located between two tube stops. With two teenagers, we wanted to experience London like the locals, and we were able to do that by relying solely on the subways and buses. We enjoyed having a nice, small market down the street where we were able to stock up on our morning provisions of fruit and yogurt. Restaurants abound in the area and we took advantage of a few of them and were very pleased. We feel this apartment is a 5 rating for all it offers, but gave it a 4 because we thought we would be remiss if we didn't mention the night noise. We were fortunate to sleep in the back bedroom and so didn't experience much of the nightlife sounds, but our teenagers slept in the front living room. Since it was the middle of July, we had to keep the windows open for ventilation and as a result, it was quite loud from the street noise, from both patrons and vehicles. This was, however, our only complaint, and frankly, by the third night our teens were sleeping through it all. This was a great way to experience London and should we ever go back to this wonderful city, we will plan to stay here again.

The apartment was just as advertised. Plenty of room for the four of us, and the location was excellent. A brisk 5 minute walk to Highbury & Islington station, and 10 minutes to Angel. Highbury was the station we used most often (Victoria line), but Angel was handy for Greenwich DLR connections, and for Camden market. Plenty of groceries, restaurants, & shops to choose from along Upper street in either direction.
The apartment itself had a couple of caveats- the one bathroom was an ensuite, so everyone will be going through the bedroom to get to it. Also, as warned, there are bars quite close, with loud music on weekends. Neither was an issue for us (I actually slept through the thumping club music both nights, was told about it the next day by my husband and kids), but YMMV.
Everything worked well- all kitchen appliances (incl washing mashine), shower, TV, wi-fi. There was a pay as you go mobile available, which we used once to make a local call. The bed and sofa bed were very comfortable, with good linens. The apartment was clean and well maintained. Plenty of space at the dining table for 4 or more.
The management company was very easy to deal with, and everything was very well organised. We were very pleased with the stay, esp for the price we paid. Highly recommended.

This apartment is very well located, clean, and surprisingly quiet in the evening for sleeping. Paulo and Giovanna were kind and responsive to my inquiries. Well recommended as a nice alternative to hotels!

Whenever I visit a place I like having a true pulse on what it is to live there as a local. And in this flat, which is very comfortable and in an amazing location I had just that. It is definitely worth it.

When making the reservation for this apartment I had the common question mark if the pictures would match reality...it turned to be a very good experience!
The apartment is very cosy and well maintained. A pleasant surprise to see that all type of information was written and available in the apartament, from useful tips for taxis; Bus; restaurants and amenities, as well as all type of instructions in case of any emergency or problem with the property.
The location is definitely prime and all type of services around the corner. Being zone 1, it took us 15 mins to be in Piccadilly or Oxford Street.
All in all, a very pleasant stay of 4 days!
