About this house rental
New home and new VRBO listing. House was built in 2020 and has all modern amenities! Get away from the crowds! Experience the best of all worlds; 3 blocks from the ocean on 1 country acre, a gated private home, and only a 45 minute drive to the snow-capped mountain of Mauna Kea and 40 minutes from the bubbling lava cauldrons of Kilauea active 🌋 volcano!
Relax in a tropical meditation garden with a private pond and waterfall. Or hang out on the main lanai with a fireplace or separate Pergola sitting area to watch the warm tropical rains while listening to the coastal waves crashing on the shoreline, lava cliffs, and beaches.
Family w/children? No problem! Sit on the cool water spray misted pergola and watch the little ones play in the sandbox while the bigger kids play Corn Hole on the grass lawn. Have infant(s)? We have a foldable baby crib that you can unfold under the shady cool pergola while you quietly sit and read a book or just relax.
It does get hot and humid here during the summer months, but no worries! Unlike 90% of Hawaii VRBO's, each room comes with its own climate control system air conditioner!
Come experience a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Volcano State National Park or watch the whales from the nearby ocean cliffs just walking distance away. Hilo Bay and Prince Kuhio Plaza Mall are 15 minutes away, while the local Foodland market is 7 minutes away.
Fine dining and the best Hawaiian slack key band can be enjoyed 9 minutes away at the award-winning Kaleo's or head out to Pahoa to Malama Market for the freshest Poke on Big Island!
Note: The garage is being used to store large power and lawn maintenance tools to maintain the 1-acre property. For liability and insurance issues, the garage is not accessible. Thank you for understanding.

The house is nice and clean inside and out. The beds are comfortable, and the A/C is cool. The backyard is relaxing and calm from the lighting, chirping, and the pond.

We really loved this house. We had come from the Kona side so walking into this lovely home on the big plot of land was refreshing. Host was promptly responsive and generous, house was beautiful, we really enjoyed sitting on the back lanai. The grounds were well maintained, lit at night with the sounds of nature all around. It was a bit of a drive to stores and food but the ample space and atmosphere made the driving worth it. Loved the house!

Enjoyed morning cofee in the peace and quiet, taking in the beautiful back garden.

Tony and Nicole's place is relaxing and has all the modern conveniences. It's exactly as promised - clean, neat, and comfortable.
After our working portion was done we gathered to watch the Merrie Monarch Hula Competition, an annual Hawaiian cultural festival, and we could not get the tv mirroring to work so I let Tony know and he came by and after identifying that the problem was that we only had iPhones and his televisions were set up for Androids/PCs he left his own phone with us without batting an eye so we could enjoy the show. Thank you so much, Tony, your hospitality was greatly appreciated. (We later figured out how to configure the TV and he came back to pick up his phone)
Anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay while on the Hilo side of the Big Island will love this home.
With much aloha,
Kauʻi
