This house was located in a beautiful established neighborhood in Southern Shores and we had access to a dock right on the sound. 4 spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms. Lots of space inside and out for everyone to spread out. Was disappointed with the condition of the back deck and deck furniture.needs some TLC to make it enjoyable. Furniture was broken, decking was splintery and planters had weeds and overgrowth instead of flowers. I understand you can’t really stop Spiders and Palmetto bugs from getting inside but feel they were excessive because the cobwebs must not be routinely hosed down. The Palmetto bugs run all Over the deck at sundown and end up in the house. This has the potential to be an amazing vacation home with just a few details! Host was very attentive and reasonable. I would have liked to have received the check in details sooner than day before so we could have looked up beach access for the permits.

Great location with a nice private dock to relax on. Easy access to everything else in OBX.

Our extended family (7 adults and 2 kids, ages 8 and 9) had a wonderful time! There was plenty of room to spread out and bathrooms galore! We brought our kayak and canoe and really enjoyed using them right outside the house. The water was shallow and warm, and the kids and dogs felt safe and played in it for hours! The kitchen had everything we could have needed and everything was clean and easy to use. We drove to the beach for an evening ghost crab hunt and also did a wild horse tour not far away that everyone enjoyed! The owner responded to any questions promptly and we met a wonderful neighbor who gave us restaurant recommendations! It was a great vacation that we will recall fondly!

Our family of 10 very much enjoyed this location. It’s a nice break from a week of beach sitting with so many other things to do. The beach is only a few minute drive, it wasn’t over crowded, and there was ample parking. We spent a couple of days on the beach, kayaked, fished, played ping pong, and boated. We trailered our boat down and tied to the dock out back. The water is shallow but our 21’ Yamaha AR210 had no issues and our adult daughters swam using the Lilly pad that was on the property. The kayaks were also provided but if you enjoy fishing, bring your own gear. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with a golf course and pool nearby. The trees provide privacy and the backyard was fenced which was perfect for our Mal-Shi pup. The host was prompt with feedback when needed and quite accommodating. The home had nearly everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a leaf blower, washer, and dryer. My husband and I are very interested in returning in the future.

We took my son and his friends, all newly graduated seniors from Alaska for their senior trip to the OBX. This was a beautiful home, centrally located with easy access to all of the OBX. The house was plenty large for our party of 11. The dock and supplied kayaks, body, and boodie boards were a major plus! The beach was a short 5-8 minute drive from the house, which was awesome. The sound behind the house had plenty of fish at all hours of the day and night (the boys did a LOT of fishing).
The kitchen was completely stocked with everything you could possibly need (especially spices!), which was a breath of fresh air compared to other VRBOs I have stayed at.
The best part was all of the additional beach towels, bath towels, extra fridge in the basement, ping pong table, and the washer/dryer! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is provided at this beautiful abode.
Now, let me tell you about Mr. Brandon..... He was/is a phenomenal host. Incredibly responsive....I am talking within 4 to 5 minutes he is getting back to you. He was able to answer all my questions and guide me to where things were located in a flash. If only all hosts could be as amenable, flexible, accommodating, communicative - you name it- as he is. I cannot recommend this property enough. It was, overall, a fabulous experience. Thank you Brandon and Family for a trip to remember!

We absolutely loved the amenities provided for us like the paddle boards, kayaks, Lilly pad and life jackets among so much more. The bathrooms were beautifully remodeled as well. Only thing I would say we didn’t love is that for a $450 cleaning fee we expected it to be sparkling and that just wasn’t the case. The floors were pretty dirty with buildup along the edges and corners. There was at least two occurrences where we saw cockroaches in and around the house. We also didn’t like the patio couch inside being used as the family room couch, it was very low and uncomfortable for my 6 foot 3 husband. I would hope they invest in a better cleaning company, regular routine visits from a bug exterminator and a more comfortable appropriate living room set up. Other then that the stay was wonderful, great location and owners.

We stayed here in the off-season during a very cold December week for some rest and relaxation. The location was great - secluded and quiet, but also close to restaurants, parks, etc. The views and sunsets off the back deck were amazing. We didn't get to utilize any of the kayaks, paddleboards, etc, but I can only imagine that would be wonderful in the warmer months.
The house itself was quaint and had character - it was not new or modern, but that was expected from pictures and was not an issue for us. There were books, games, and clean linens provided which was appreciated. We don't do much cooking while on vacation so I can't speak too much about the kitchen supplies, but it seemed to be appropriately stocked. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and the kids loved the room with bunk beds and another room that had a "short" bed that was very low to the ground.
Overall we really liked that this was obviously someone's home, and not just a "rental machine". The owners were responsive and friendly, and rather than leaving a long list of rules and check-out tasks like other rentals, they basically just told us to have a good time, which we did!

The property was as expected and met our expectations. Kayaks and paddle boards were well used by my daughter & me. I played golf everyday at the course within walking distance! While I was golfing my daughter and wife enjoyed sightseeing and local shopping. Coffee shops and restaurants are plentiful in close proximity. It was a great stay and Brandon was very accommodating, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with.

We had an amazing time at this property. Very spacious and our party of 13 had more than enough space. Very well stocked kitchen, linens/towels/bedding and kayak/raft as well! We did everything from Wild Horse tours in Corolla to Ocracoke Island and this property was well situated for our needs. Very responsive owners and all instructions were very clear. Will definitely stay here again if we return to the Outer Banks!

We were thrilled with our stay. Wonderful location! Close enough to the little village of Duck but also far enough from the hustle and bustle. Plus the kayaks, paddle boards and raft were an added plus! Can’t wait to return.

Comfortable and spacious home with gorgeous views of the sun setting over the water. The home was well stocked with everything we needed (linens, bath towels, beach towels, condiments, etc.). The owners were responsive and provided us with local recommendations upon our request. We would visit again in a heartbeat.

First, you will not find more accommodating, nice owners, than Brandon and his wife. Their thoughtfulness and quick responses really made us feel cared for and appreciated. They went far above to make us feel welcome in their home.
Second, the location was absolutely perfect. Very close to shopping, golf courses waterparks and restaurants. The home sits on the Jean Guite creek (shallow not choppy waters) and the home sits in a quiet fairly upscale neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac. Great for bike riding and walking.
The home provides many outdoor activities any family would love. They provide multiple kayaks, swimming boards, has firepit for s'mores, great fishing area and plenty of lawn chairs. They boys caught many fish including catfish and a 37 inch gar and a bunch of other fish.
The inside of the home offers all the cooking needs you will need including spices, cleaning supplies, towels/Beach towels extra linen so no need to pack. Although, the home is an older home with loved and lived in character. There are certainly plenty of beds and bathrooms and views and balconies/sunroomfrom 3 out of the 5 bedrooms. Waking up to the views made us not want to leave. The home is very pet friendly with a gate/fence around the property. My 2 were in heaven playing outside!
Again if you are looking for a large outdoorsy cabin feel this home is perfect. There are some minor things that could be addressed like the wooden stairs into the water is a bit unsafe, some of the decking seating, the primary bathroom has an awkward layout and shower pressure was to be desired, but hear the upstairs was decent. (Although if you are tall the home was a bit challenging including the living room furniture, shower upstairs and beds are all very close to the ground.) But beyond some very minor details and you are not super finicky looking for the Ritz-Carlton for housing, this home really does make for the perfect family retreat! I would definitely consider staying at this home again for our family to make many more great memories. Thanks so much for a perfect 10 year, last minute anniversary getaway, for our family. Your hospitality was superior and are utterly grateful for the time we spend at your home.
