About this cabin rental
Welcome to Deer Creek Cabin!
Surrounded by towering evergreen trees, this cozy A-frame style cabin is a perfect location to explore what Hood Canal and the Olympics have to offer, or those looking for a place to unwind.
For the outdoor enthusiast, there are plenty of options! For those who hike, nearby are several trails; Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Staircase to name a few. Lake Cushman Golf Course is just 9 minutes away, and we have a few discs for you to try the disc-golf that is 7 minutes away. With just a 3-minute walk to a private community park, you’ll have access to the lake for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, as well as access to the boat launch, dock, and playground all while being enveloped by the jaw-dropping Olympics. Want to picnic at the lake? We have a cooler for your convenience, as well as beach towels to soak up the sun. We also have a parking pass for guest parking at the private community parks.
Nestled in a quiet Lake Cushman neighborhood, this contemporary-updated cabin with knotty pine walls sleeps 6 and features 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one with a king, and one with a queen bed, as well as a three-quarter bath with a stand-up shower. In the living room, the floor to ceiling windows give a peak-a-boo view of the Olympics through the magnificent trees and hopefully you’ll catch a glimpse of the deer that walk through nightly. The kitchen offers many amenities that will support your culinary talents and in addition to the kitchen necessities, boasts several small appliances including an air-fryer, rice cooker, and waffle iron. Upstairs in the loft, there are two futons that convert to full size beds. Also in the loft is a large smart-TV to login to your favorite streaming services, as well as a Blue-Ray DVD player and assortment of movies. With a ductless heat and air conditioning unit, several cozy blankets, and fans, you’ll be comfortable no matter the weather.
For those looking to relax, we have several board games, card games, and books for you to enjoy. We also recommend relaxing on the large deck and taking in the views. Out the sliding doors you’ll find a hammock, propane grill, dining table and covered outdoor lounge seating. We suggest a game of corn-hole under the twinkling patio lights during the summer nights.
Because the cabin is in the heart of the Olympic Mountains, cell service can be spotty so enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phones is your best bet. Wi-Fi is available at the cabin, and cell service improves once you are in the town of Hoodsport (about 12 min drive).
Accessibility – There are 9 stairs to get to the front door. Once inside, everything you should need is on the main floor. The loft has narrow and steep stairs that are part of the original build in 1971. There is no dishwasher, but dish soap and drying rack are provided. Washer and dryer are available.
Typically, there is a burn ban during the summer months and fireworks are prohibited on Lake Cushman. Fires are not allowed on the property. If you are bringing a boat, please let us know so we can order a boat launch pass (additional fees apply).
We look forward to hosting you at Deer Creek Cabin. Please note that guests are required to complete the rental agreement attached, along with the 2 ID items listed on page 3 of the agreement within 24 hours of booking.

Great! Had a light show the final night. Lost power because of a downed tree a few miles away. Glad we went. Far enough away from Seattle but not too far where you need an airplane to get home. Enjoyed our vacation!

Beautiful a-frame cabin with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a large deck and nestled in a cove of tall trees. Loved the modern tribal vibe and the ready-to-go hot tub!

This cabin is cozy, comfortable and set in a tranquil neighborhood. The cabin is beautifully decorated, beds and linens are very comfortable, kitchen has lots of small appliances and plenty of cookware. Washer and dryer came in handy. There are plenty of board games, books, DVDs, a hammock, and corn hole for entertainment. The best part of the location of this cabin is the close proximity to Lake Cushman park/beach as well as entry to Olympic National Park - Staircase Rapids Loop. We enjoyed our stay immensely and highly recommend this property.

Let me begin by saying I am a very picky person and have notoriously been disappointed by vrbos. But this place was OUTSTANDING! It was so very clean, well decorated and thoughtfully furnished. Every detail from the yoga mat to the games- which had all the pieces- to the binoculars and birder book to the hammock - EVERYTHING was great. My only hope is that people take of this property so that when we return it will be in the same condition. BOOK IT.

Absolutely incredible property and location! Just remote enough but still close to everything that’s needed. The proximity to the lake is a great short walk that we took advantage of daily. Kim, our host was excellent with communication throughout the entire process. Home is comfy, cozy and has all that’s needed. Would highly recommend! Thanks for allowing us the pleasure of sharing your beautiful property. 😊

My family of 5 loved this cabin. 3 minute walk to a park with beach access. We went there daily. The little market up the street had friendly workers. So close to hiking trails, and we loved the quaint shops in Hoodsport. Cabin was clean, cozy, and everything we needed it to be.

House worked great for our family - close to beach, provided cooler, deck had good add ons like hammack, corn hole, and separate seating area. A little odd we had to fill out additional paperwork when booking through vrbo but was easy to send via email. No dishwasher but didnt mind since it was part of the being the woods/ off the beaten track kind of cabin.

A truly wonderful cabin full of attention to detail and charm. Property was lovely, a quick walk to Lake Cushman and a quick drive to hiking a few miles up the road. Very well maintained and professionally managed. Thank you!

We spent a lot of time outdoors and every time we walked through the sliding glass doors, we instantly felt at home. The lighting (when adjusted for ambience) is homey and inviting. From the string of lights over the porch, to the lamps in the loft, you can maximize the feeling of warmth all throughout the cabin. Inside, the cabin mixes modern amenities with a rustic feel. Bright, overhead lighting in the fully stocked kitchen doesn’t clash like you might expect. My only wish was for some way to build a fire, perhaps a fire pit outside. The park is located a short walk from a park, which was abandoned due to the cold weather (late February). The lake was down, but that made hiking the shoreline possible, with limitless shells, rocks, and driftwood to pick through. All in all, this was an incredible trip to the area. The pictures don’t do the property justice! But like the many pictures I took of the outdoors, they never do.

Thank you so much for having us! I am absolutely in love with your cabin and really hope to return soon. The info book was the perfect snapshot of everything we needed, the amenities such as washer, dryer and grill were all useful even during our short stay and the games, tv, books and other entertainment were perfect for the relaxing rainy weekend!

I've stayed at my fair share of short term rentals and this was far and away the best! So many amenities, I was left wanting for nothing. There were ample towels, washcloths, a hammock, beach towels, every kitchen utensil I could have used. The beds were comfy with nice linens and having a washer and dryer available was so nice. The loft was very comfy and the grill was great! We made waffles most mornings and grilled every nivht. The location was great too, minutes from parks on the lake and challenging hikes.
It was so nice to stay at a place that felt like home. A lot of VRBOs feel like empty houses, not this one!
Small note: the bathroom sink needs draino. That's my only (tiny) issue!

Just right for a couple looking for an escape!
Overall it was a great cabin! The Lake area was an awesome spot for late afternoon lunches and taking in the beautiful mountains that surround the lake. Lots of outdoor activities like hiking and kyacking close to the cabin. Cabin WiFi made up for no cell signal. If your are looking for more of the rainforest, Hurricane Ridge and Pacific beaches make sure you do your research around drive times! We did a good bit of cooking and the kitchen is just the right size for a small group (no dishwasher) and the grill outside fired right up! Washer/dryer was a nice perk as well. Only one bathroom and the shower head does hang a bit low so if your taller then 6’1” you might hit your head.
Overall great experience in a wonderful cabin!
