About this house rental
"Selah" is a Biblical word that means pause, rest, and reflect. We hope to welcome you to our Knoxville home, Selah Way Cottage, freshly remodeled in soft colors, with hopes for peaceful relaxation. You can rest easy knowing that you have the entire private home to yourselves, with no shared space. Our lives are all so busy! We believe that taking time to pause and refresh is essential for every aspect of our well-being. We have around 1700 sf of space have found that 8 adults can be comfortable staying in our home
**Important** If you have need for party space, this house will not be a good fit. We don't want to spoil your fun, but we are located in a neighborhood of professionals and families who have to sleep, work, and go to school. We have to ask that noise levels be minimized after 9pm. Our guests receive an automated gentle reminder around 9pm. At that time we ask that you come in to enjoy all the inside has to offer. Guests who are not able to abide by the neighborhood noise ordinance will be asked to leave without refund. We have a doorbell camera at the front door and an additional camera that can record the back deck, with the hot tub excluded. Both cameras are typically unmonitored, but we do reserve the right to review footage and initiate monitoring if we suspect a party or receive noise/other complaints from neighbors.
Location: Excellent Northshore location. Our home is located on a safe tree lined street, close in West, with frequent sighting of deer, birds, and squirrels. Our home is just minutes to grocery stores, restaurants, Lakeshore Park, greenways, and West Town Mall. UT & downtown Knoxville are only10-15 minutes away. Drive 30 mins via I40 to exit 67, and you can be minutes from Soaky Mountain Water Park, Bass Pro Shops, the future home of the world's largest Buck-ees, or on your way to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We usually allow an hour to get into Dollywood. Drive an hour or two in the opposite direction, you can raft the Ocoee River or visit Chattanooga. Oak Ridge is about a half hour north. Keep going North and you can visit Windrock, Rugby, Frozen Head State Park and Big South Fork.
The Space: Sized for family & friends, 1700+ sf, with a covered patio, hot tub, grill, and firepit. Upstairs, you will find 3 bedrooms (2K,1Q) and a bath. PLUS we have a downstairs great room w/beds for 4-6 (2T, 1F, Q sleeper), kitchenette, 2nd full bath, arcade games, foosball table, games, and a reading nook.
Amenities: We hope to spoil you just a little with our homemade lavender oatmeal soap, high end bedding, Eddie Bauer blankets, and high thread count cotton sheets. Relax with a game of foosball, enjoy the 2 person arcade, go outside and enjoy your favorite TV show while relaxing in the hot tub (open until 9pm). Or, stay in and play board games by the 2 electric fireplaces.
Description: If you enter our home through the front door, you can turn right to find 3 private bedrooms, each with desks and smart TVs. We have new memory foam mattresses and your choice of feather or foam pillows. The shared bath has just been remodeled and features a heated towel rack, peppermint/tea tree bath products, and plenty of fluffy towels. To the left of the front door, is a fully equipped kitchen with most everything you might need to cook a full meal, including a professional blender and kitchenaid mixer. Straight back from the front door is our living/dining area, with a wall of glass and views of the deck and backyard. It is not unusual to see deer grazing in the backyard. We invite you to step outside the double sliding glass doors to the partially covered outdoor living space where you can enjoy a new hot tub, smart TV, gas fire pit and grill, with a table for outdoor dining. Inside, there is an electric fireplace, strong wifi, and a large TV. We provide Xfinity streaming for local channels, in addition to Philo streaming service. Feel free to bring passwords and log in to your Netflix or other personal streaming accounts.
Downstairs you will find a great room that could almost be an efficiency apartment! This level does not have a door that seperates it from the upper floor, so parents don't need to worry about feeling disconnected from kids who want to hang out downstairs. Larger groups will enjoy having extra refrigerator space and a second stove and microwave in the downstairs kitchenette. In the great room, we have a pull out queen sofa and our unique stacked beds with a full bed and 2 twin beds that pull out from underneath, so no sleeping in a cramped bunk bed under someone else. Enjoy hundreds of arcade games, watch a movie on the large smart TV, or play a game of foosball by the electric fireplace. A woodland animal theme reading/toy nook under the stairs is a fun place to play a new game or read a book. A second bath is on this level, beautifully remodeled with live edge wood countertop and a luxurious walk in rainfall shower. This is a walkout basement level with windows and a sliding glass door that leads to a patio with a porch swing and hammock chairs.
Due to severe allergies, we can not allow cats. We welcome dogs that are pre-approved with a $48 per day/per pet fee.

Beautiful property, very private! Downstairs is perfect for kids and has their own kitchen and bath. Hot tub was amazing and all the extra special touches really made it perfect. Will definitely stay again. Only 15 min to downtown Knoxville and UT. Perfect spot!

We enjoyed our trip to Knoxville. The house was a good size for our family of four and my 17 year old immediately claimed the downstairs area. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the easy check-in/check out process. We travel to Knoxville a couple of times per year, so we will book again.

Thank you!

The house is amazing. It's in a neighborhood but feels like you're way out in the country. I loved the deck. The couple who owns the home are the nicest I've rented from so far. I loved this whole experience.

What a perfect place for a girls’ getaway! There are so many small touches that make this a cozy, relaxing place to catch up and wind down. The hot tub, robes, and fluffy towels contribute to the spa-like ambiance. Other details like well-stocked kitchens and baths and comfy beds ensure an stress-free time away. The owners are very responsive, and even helped us problem-solve a flat tire while we were there. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

the home was perfect for our family and dogs. Home was perfect for hosting our kids and their college friends for the weekend.

We loved everything about the home! It was clean, thought out and had all of the essentials we needed ♥️ The beds were comfortable, lighting was perfect, decor was beautiful, outside space was by far our favorite hang out spot! When we return to Knoxville there's nowhere else we'll stay!

I would recommend this property to anyone who wants the warmth of home and the peacefulness of the country. The only thing I have to say is that you do. Need to wear you slippers when you use the bathroom downstairs because the rocks kind of hurts the bottom of your feet, but it still was a beautiful bathroom downstairs.

My family truly enjoyed staying here. The property is roomy yet cozy. The location is very quiet yet it really is just minutes away from anything you need. The nearby Rocky Hill area has a nice grocery and several shops. My wife enjoyed using the well appointed kitchen to make meals and visit with local family and friends either on the deck or inside. The house is very well equipped, nicely furnished and there were a ton of conveniences (I especially appreciated the USB charger since I forgot mine). In all honesty, it was very much like being at home except not at home. Overall, a great stay at a very nice property.

Reserved this property in April for 4 days in June . Arrived and was told we had to vacate the property as it was double booked. Had family arriving late at night with 3 kids and we were told to leave. Never had issues with VRBO before but this was a nightmare

We enjoyed a lovely getaway at Selah! Beautiful, spacious and designed to meet all of our vacation needs! We loved staying here. The large hot tub was so relaxing and the walkout basement maximized the space (and is perfect for guests with extended family or teens joining them). Thank you for a great getaway!

This was the stay I needed. There are little touches all throughout the house that make you feel so incredibly welcome. The house is spacious and filled with activities. The location is very convenient and easily accessible. Our group had the absolute best time. When we come back to Knoxville we are definitely staying here again, I couldn’t imagine a better house/vrbo to stay at. They had everything you could imagine and it just made everything so easy and enjoyable. thanks for the great stay!

I have now stayed at many Vrbo properties over the last several years. This is the first one that I feel I have to review as it obviously has owners that care about every little detail. We always received a quick and friendly response from the owner to any questions we had. A beautiful property and a house with every amenity you will need, this should be your choice when staying in the area.
