About this house rental
Please READ FULL LISTING prior to booking.
Camm’s Lakeside Retreat is situated in a quiet family neighborhood surrounded by new, luxury homes in a very desirable area. Located in the quaint little town of Belmont with a downtown area filled with shopping, restaurants and breweries, you may be able to catch live music during Friday Night Live Concert series when visiting during the summer.
We are the perfect place for sharing with friends and family. The house has over 3100 sq ft with an open floor plan that’s designed for entertaining. It has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths.
We don’t have cameras onsite, but we have neighbors. We prefer to check our guests in, when possible.
What makes this property unique on this lake is the closeness of the covered porch being only a stones’ throw away from the vast shoreline. You can’t build them this close to the water anymore.
You’ll enjoy your morning coffee, tea, or beverage of choice under the porch or choose to walk down the pier to the comfortable chairs under the gazebo sitting right over the water. No need to worry that a little bit of rain will dampen your day because we’ve got you “covered”.
The property sits on over an acre with an amazing 240 degree view of Lake Wylie. There is approximately 300 linear feet of shoreline that includes a long pier with a gazebo and swim platform. The lot near the water is impressively flat for easy mobility and fairly private with a wooden fence dividing neighbors on each side.
Expecting visitors by boat? The swim platform was designed for multiple boats to tie up. You can even enjoy the wait at the dock as the waters are very calm.
Young children and dogs will love spending their days on the private beach.
Kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes are available for those adventure seekers. You can easily paddle your way to what the locals call “bird island”.
The Master Bedroom Suite is pretty impressive. At approximately 900 sq feet, it’s a private getaway on its own. The space includes a king bed, sitting area, queen pull-out bed with a comfortable latex mattress, double vanity, double shower and double sliding glass doors leading to a large private balcony with amazing views.
All bedrooms, except one, has waterfront views and their own private bathroom (en-suite). Note, the fourth full bathroom is located outside adjacent to the covered porch.
Because of where the property sits, you can catch the sunrise as well as the sunset, if you’re lucky.
If interested, boats are available for rent based on availability. We have two tritoons (seats 14) that need to be reserved in advance. The boats are available to other guests at other vacation rental properties on a first come first serve basis. Plan ahead if you’re coming in for July 4th week.

Wonderful and spacious place! Lots of fun things to do. Had a blast. Definitely a repeat.

Our family wanted a long weekend stay on the lake, and we came across this property, which was perfect for us. We had 5 adults and 2 younger kids stay at the house, which was great for each age. The kids loved the sandy beach area, along with being able to fish off the pier. The adults loved the view from the back decks, kayaks available and fishing. We even rented the boat off the property managers, which was seamless and well worth it. Got to experience the lake that way as well. Our family is already looking into booking next year.

This is a true gem! We can't say enough good things about the lot, location, and friendliness of the owners. The beach was perfect for afternoons with our small kids, and the swim dock perfect for evenings after they were in bed, to enjoy the nearly 180 degree views of the lake. The house is quirky, but thoughtfully stocked -- the best of any rental we've stayed in. We loved how easy it was to get to Belmont and all the other small towns nearby, not to mention Charlotte. We can't wait to come back and see what it's like in each season!

We loved our time at this property. Everyone had their own suite so we all had privacy but were still able to hang out. The yard is a great size and the private beach is great. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners were extremely responsive. Loved our stay!

We so much enjoyed our stay here. It is the PERFECT weekend get a way we needed with our two dogs. They loved the water, the yard, and the ability to run! The house was very clean and functional. Perfect views!! Perfect spot! Thank you!!

Thank you for a great stay for our family. The house was clean and communication with the owners was very good! We rented a Tritoon from them which we would recommend. The dock and water access was exceptional. There are stone stairs into the water as well as a lovely Sandy beach. Everything was seamless.

Our family of 10 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean and just as described. The views are gorgeous. My Father-in-law caught tons of fish from the yard and dock. The beach area is spacious and clean with plenty of toys for all ages. (Paddle boards, kayaks, beach chairs, life jackets corn hole boards and more.) The inside is also very well stocked with several coffee pots, beach towels, shampoo, soap, sheets, blankets, books, games and also sooo much more.
The porch is awesome with ceiling fans and lights. The yard is very level. My mom dad and in-laws in there 70’s had no problems walking around the yard and docks.
The location is not far from downtown Belmont and there’s no long, narrow, curvy roads to squeeze down with your boat. We had plenty of parking even with our boat and jet ski trailers.
The water is a bit shallow coming in and out on the lake. Beware the water is more green brown due to the shallowness. However this was great for kid’s swimming. The most peaceful lake location tucked at the point of a cove so the views were wonderful.
The communication with the owners was the best we’ve ever had. Arouna and Charlie went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

The location being so close to the lake is AWESOME!! This is a clean house that is fully stocked with all the essentials. We had a minor snafu upon check in, which was immediately remedied. Definitely worth it!

We had family coming into town for the Holidays and Camm's Lakeside Retreat gave us enough space to all stay and wake up together Christmas morning in a beautiful setting. It was clean, comfortable, and we'll maintained. We were making a turkey for Christmas Eve dinner so we brought everything we needed to cook and carve it. We needn't have bothered. The kitchen was so well stocked, it had a better roasting pan than the one we bought from home. We spent a week there just relaxing and catching up. Loved that it was so close to Belmont. Couldn't have asked for a better place.

We were a group of 3 adults and 6 teenagers and had an absolute blast! The weather was beautiful and the water still plenty warm enough to swim, paddleboard and canoe. The outdoor area and porches were perfect for throwing the football and having group meals.
We had extended family come for the day for a birthday celebration and were able to go boating and tubing which was loved by all. The inside of the house is lovely and the master suite feels like it is a whole home unto itself :).
The owners were gracious and communicative and showed us around at check-in.
We have rented several homes on Lake Wylie, and this was one of our favorites!
Highly recommend for a great stay!

Beautiful place
We had the best time here. It’s well stocked (towels, bathroom products, beach toys, etc.), very clean, and I think better than the pictures listed. The water in the lake is very warm and there are lots of paddle boards & kayaks to use. About an 8 minute drive to a Belmont which has the cutest shopping and restaurants. I wish we could stay here every single year.

Great Place for a Girls’ Reunion
Nine friends from waaaay back gathered at Camm’s Retreat with R&R and “catching up” as the main events of the week! Plenty of bedrooms and an amazingly stocked kitchen were all ready for our arrival! We enjoyed the large gathering area on the porch, and a dining table to fit us all! A very special spot, we spent lots of time on the over-the-water gazebo throughout our stay for sharing morning coffee and at wine-time!

This is a beautiful home to go to for a getaway! It was a wonderful view. The home was clean and very well stocked. Sheena and Adam were "awesome" to work. We had one small issue and they were on it immediately.
I will definitely refer this property and I will be back again for sure!
Thanks

Perfect place for a family gathering
I can’t say enough about this great property.
When you have a home like this, so well taken care of and with so many outdoor options, it’s hard to beat. Not only is the inside of the home great for a group, but the outside also. The kitchen family room and dining room is a great place for everyone to sit talk, play cards enjoy great food and chill. The surrounding covered deck Is huge but can easily keep everyone happy even if it rains. Between the gas grill, the large eating table and lots of seating it’s the perfect setting looking out at the lake. My grandchildren loved the hammock (So did we), The fire pit with the Adirondack chairs gave us many laughs and memories around the fire that we will not soon forget. The beach area was perfect for our grandchildren and well supplied with buckets, toys kayaks paddle boards and rowboat. The beautiful gazebo dock was perfect for morning coffee, Also, the almost water level dock was perfect to throw in a fishing line whenever you wanted. We did rent a boat for the weekend and it was well worth it. Brought to you right at the dock and you just leave it when you’re done. No hassle at all and was so much fun to enjoy beautiful lake Wylie. The master bedroom was spectacular and like you were separated from everyone! The 4.5 bathrooms Couldn’t have been any nicer. Immaculate, , well supplied with all kinds of things, including outdoor lawn games and a full laundry room. Don’t hesitate....Just go and enjoy this beautiful piece of real estate in a gorgeous neighborhood!!
Thank you also to Adam. We really appreciated your help..

Perfect weekend getaway
We had a great long weekend at Camm's Lakeside Retreat. We traveled with 4 adults and 5 kids (aged 1-8). There was plenty of space for everyone (all of the bathrooms definitely came in handy!). The house was incredibly clean...even under beds and furniture, where toys like to hide. Most places are not (We stay at A LOT of VRBO's). The kitchen was well stocked and VERY organized. The kids LOVED playing in the sand/beach area, the big backyard, and jumping off of the dock. We rented a pontoon for two days (through the listing) and had a blast pulling the kids on the tube. The boat was brought right to the dock out back, which was amazing. The house had everything we needed including sand toys, life jackets, fire wood, and cute shampoo and conditioner bottles. Everything worked great (tvs, internet, water, air conditioner, hoses, appliances, washer/dryer). My husband must have told me at least a half dozen times how much he enjoyed the weekend and "good job" on my rental choice. The kids asked if we can go back after school today, so I think everyone agrees Camm's made for the perfect weekend. We will definitely be back.
Quick note: The two upstairs bedrooms are separated by different staircases. This isn't a big deal, but if you plan to use the room for kids, know that you will need to go down the stairs then back up to get to them at night. (There are two bedrooms on the first floor if that is a problem)

I vacationed with my husband, daughter, son in law and my grandsons (7,6 & 4). The boys were in heaven. The learned to paddle the kayaks and loved jumping off the dock. Once the kids were in bed it was time for Nana & Pop pop to relax on the back deck listening to music and watching the lake for jumping fish. Our dog Wilbur loved walking the large property and hanging with us under the shade of the gazeboNature did not cooperate the entire time a fallen tree caused a power outage which Adam contacted us about immediately. A cozy respite
We loved our stay in this home because of the old “traditional lake house style” and comfort if the home. We came to the lake to take a few days while grieving the loss of our mother. The peace that we found from the wonderful water views and was what we hoped to find and we did. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets reminded of God’s ever present love.
The bathrooms were all nice. The master suite on 2nd level was simply perfect for us. The soaking tub with the wide open view of the lake, and the glass shower positioned with the same view were the best feature of the interior of the house. The clearly recent remodel of the suite with the 2nd level view made it our favorite spot in the house.
The only thing that would keep me from booking this house again was the sectional sofa in the living area. It was super comfortable as long as you were in the right spot. The side pieces wouldn’t stay connected to the corner section so this was an issue as it would pull apart and leave open gaps between the sections. It was just my husband and myself so we were able to work around it. Also one tip to the owner, the sectional was angled so it all faced the tv and interior wall which blocked a great deal of light and the water view.) We actually, with great care not to scratch the floors, moved the sofa to the reverse spot so we could have the desired view while seated on it.
The positives by far outweighed the sofa issue but I do believe the rental would be greatly enhanced by replacing it.

Loved the pontoon boat and lazy days! This is the most well- equipped home I have every rented. We made some great meals - and ate outside on the beautiful porch.

Best family reunion ever.
The house was amazing ,plenty of room for the whole family . We had a family reunion, some from N.Y., some from Wisconsin , and the rest from Florida. The views were the best, the lake at sunrise was breath taking. This place had everything you need for a great time. Thanks to Adam for always being just a text away, even during a small power outage . Charlie was more then helpful when my kids decided to rent the pontoon boat. My son had never driven a boat so Charlie took him out and showed him the ropes. To say it again this place is amazing. Thank you all for making this reunion a great one.

Nice Vacation Home
Facility, neighborhood, amenities were all very nice. Ran out of propane with no available backup tank in the middle of cooking a meal. my biggest issue is being on the mouth of the South Fork River there was a lot of debris which collected around the swimming area especially after a hard rainfall.

Family get together
The size of the home was great for our family get together. The huge porch was perfect for everyone to sit outside and eat dinner and perfect for morning coffee. Kids and Adults enjoyed the Kayaks and sitting on the dock.
The beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed.
When we arrived there was a smell of smoke in the house. We hate cigarette smoke! We called and informed the owner who said it was probably a workman and that it would subside. Unfortunately the smoke smell was in the house the whole time we rented it. When we arrived back in Florida and unpacked the smell of smoke was in our clothes, it was horrible.
That would be my only complaint on renting this home.

Large House With Amazing Views
The house was fantastic, we were all able to fit comfortably. We spent most of our time out on the large deck and on the dock gazebo taking in the views. We caught a handful of fish off the dock, all catfish. The house has a small job boat we also took out to the channel and caught small mouth bass. There is so much to do, we never had to leave the house. We also took advantage of a pontoon boat rental, which was a lot of fun to go explore and do some tubing. The house is not far from grocery stores and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked, so we did most of the cooking at the house.
Adam was extremely helpful and very courteous, so thank you for everything Adam! We will certainly be coming back on our next trip!
