You can tell this is an old hotel. Checked in and the Cookies we always look forward to were cold and hard. Toilet did not flush properly, maintenance came up at 10:20PM and tried to get working better, which he thought he did. He said he could change out the flapper ball in the morning. We were only there one night. Hair was all over the floor and was not ours in the bathroom. To me being in the industry, that is just disgusting and not up to Hilton Standards. Overall, not happy.

Our stay at the Somerset Double Tree was disappointing. First, the air conditioning was very loud. No one slept well. Second, our toilet clogged in the middle of the night, and despite the fact that I went to the front desk at 2:30, and waited for the engineer in the hall for a while, no one came to help us. Our children had to go to the lobby bathroom in the morning - far below the standard we were expecting from the listing. We finally got it unclogged at about 8 AM. Very disappointed. We use hotels.com often, but this stay will give us pause the next time we look to find a hotel.

I have chosen Doubletree by Hilton for the past couple of years because their beds / pillows are incredibly comfortable. We arrived in the late in the evening after traveling, and were looking forward to a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, during this stay when the room heater/air conditioner turned on, it was literally a roar like an airplane, so loud that you could not sleep through it. The wall panel had no instructions as to how to stop it. So every hour or two, we were awoken by the noise, and had a terrible night's sleep. We ate in the bar after arriving, so did not know this was going to happen until we went to bed around midnight and fell asleep. Obviously, at this time of night, we were not going to ask to change rooms, or wait for the front desk to wake a repair man to come and fix it. Very upsetting.

It was very nice room, check in was great free cookies for me and the kids, great area and feel. The room was nice however it needs a mircowave. First time in a hotel without one and i could have used it. The hottube was out of order. They had a restaurant inside, over priced, and no free breakfast. It was 12 bucks a person to eat. And the bar prices were way to high.

Room booked was to sleep 4. We walked into a king bed, no way it was sleeping four. The front desk made no effort to rectify the situation and indicated they were fully booked. I walked away and was able to book another room with double beds, then came back to check in for my second room and told the guy who just said they were fully booked that I had to get a second room because the accomadtions were not what was described to me, and he really didn’t care. Did not give any information or suggestions about the hotel. The buffet breakfast they offer is misleading. There is a sign at the restaurant that says “there is a charge if you bring the breakfast to go” it was set up like a free continental breakfast. No one was around to explain any of that, and looking back at the description it did not say breakfast was a charge. $20 per person for a continental breakfast. When we complained, none of the employees spoke English. We were there for a dance competition that was hosted by this venue. They couldn’t even have coffee in the lobby. None of the ice machines on ANY floors, so we had to go down to the restaurant (that opened at 5 ) to get ice. Which was never communicated upon arrival. One elevator was broken & another bounced several times when the door opened. With all the people staying there and going up and down constantly, this also could have been communicated. There wasn’t even an out of order sign on there. We hope we do not have to stay here again!
