My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience so far. The issues included:
(1) being misled at check-in about the water being complimentary;
(2) no Kleenex in the room, and then no drop-off of it even though I saw the receptionist make a note of it when I requested it on the way to the gym -- making me come back down again to get it in person when I got back to the room;
(3) no shower gel in the room followed by the bad explanation that it's been out for months and the hotel hasn't come up with a workaround (for example, small bottles being made available at the front desk, upon request);
(4) the ice machine on our floor being out of ice on Sunday; and
(5) getting a busy signal every time we tried to call the front desk (5-10 times over 24 hours).
The other unfortunate thing? Nobody at the front desk really seemed to care at all when we called things to their attention, and the general manager didn't even reply to an email I sent him directly.

Biggest issue among a few was prior to showering and even turning on the shower, water and debris began to back up in our tub most likely from other users in the hotel; when called, it took them about 15 minutes to respond and by then , water had started to drain leaving the debris behind. The Maintenance tech ran the water and felt fixed until I pointed out the debris and need to clean and he said it would take about 5+ minutes as he’d have to go get bleach. Why did t he come prepared? There were also issues with their payment system, their USB port not working and failure to notify guests of a walk/run race blocking the Main Street….other wise, hotel looked great and they processed the long check in line rather quickly! All during Whittier College Homecoming Weekend!

In town to watch granddaughter cheer for La Serna high school football. Rooms are comfortable but could use some painting around the bathroom door frame. Staff is excellent as always

The room was very clean. The only issues was the bed was a little too hard for me. The refrigerator would freeze things instead just keeping them cold and the TV has some pixel damage on the top right of the screen. I thought it was a black cat with a fire hat on till I walked real close to the TV. The staff was excellent. This is the second time I’ve stayed there. My bed was more comfortable on my first stay.

Clean, comfortable, convenient to Uptown restaurants. Responsive staff. Desk chair cushion was stained, and there were stains on the curtains. One light socket was taped with electrical tape.

Firmest mattress I’ve ever laid on. It was like laying on a sheet of plywood. My body ached every morning during my 2 night stay. Also, room wasn’t serviced and when I called the front desk for more towels we never received any. Outside of that the place was clean and the location is quiet.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in town for a funeral and met up with family after to enjoy food and cocktails at the bar. The waitress was very accommodating and the food was great. We are so glad we chose this hotel

Our stay was exceptionally pleasant! The room we had had a nice view and very convenient to be able to walk around to near by eateries. We will definitely consider staying there again whenever we visit family in Whittier.

First night the air didn’t work. The next day by noon we were able to move to a different room.
That was are only problem. But huge since we were working at 8 am from hotel.

TV was nice but other than that it was an old room that needs renovations. Bed was stiff, carpet had stains, bathroom door didn’t close properly and would get stuck due to layers of paint. The mini fridge was loud and made so much noise during the night! Even my sister said it kept her up too! The AC also didn’t seem to keep up. I think the most alarming part was two women in a second floor room with a window that didn’t lock! I placed a coat hanger in the track praying it would do the trick.

Hotel has so much appeal. The lobby was wonderful looking. However the room we were given was not up to par. The ceiling in the bathroom had a huge slash of about 3 inches and it was peeling off, tub had a weird dip in it where water would pool and was looking dirty and wall plug under the desk was coming off the wall with the wires being exposed. No real amenities on the weekends not even complimentary coffee was horrible. Only upside is the cookies.

I didn’t give it 5 stars because the temperature in the hallways were hot and muggy feeling and dishes outside rooms sat out for a while. Either keep them in their rooms or have someone pick them up. Looks tacky on the floor and going to bring bugs.

Overall fine. But I was surprised to see the popcorn ceiling in the room. In addition, don’t know what happened the night we stayed, some policemen in the lobby and nobody from the front desk answered the call when we called from our room, we had to go downstairs in person to get more bath towels.

The overal stay was ok and close to my meetings. But not having a microwave, we were not really we were forced out to eat for certain times. There was only one microwave in the lobby which was just inconvenient

We were given a room with no AC.Front desk staff Joe was so unprofessional and had no desire to help us. He said he couldn’t do anything about it and was eager to go eat his in n out. They offered us an industrial fan that he had brought up 2 hours after …was so loud we couldn’t sleep. He offers to call another hotel nearby, had me waiting on the phone for over 40 mins and never came back to the call. Went downstairs he was nonchalant and acted like he did nothing wrong.
He said i had to wait for the manager to arrive at 7am to get reimbursed. Called at 9am and said the manager still wasn’t there. they put me once again on hold 30 mins. Jessica the manager came on the line and said she couldn’t reimburse us but only give us complimentary breakfast. I would have never expected this from doubletree.

The place is getting worn. Over past few stays at same hotel. This time struggled with tv and refrigerator freezer door was missing so everything in fridge froze over. Put some cokes and fruit both were frozen solid next day. But it’s not bad but not quite what I expect from Hilton

Room had some remodeling done but still had a very old feel about it. Pillows were flat. Parking was a bit difficult to find. No extra bath towels were provided, I was told they would be sent to the room but were not. Lobby and hallways seemed like air conditioning was not working properly(take in mind is summer and it’s hot!) This could be a beautiful hotel but needs a lot more remodeling. I have stayed at way better Double Tree’s.

The water smelled really bad, the hotel was very hot, they were not able to check me in with my confirmation number, they didn’t answer the phone for getting extra towels and when I asked for extra towels after going downstairs they never never brought me any.

The compressor on the fridge was very loud and came on about every hour. got in at 9:00 pm and found the TV didn't work tired and did not what to deal with them trying to fix it.
