We enjoyed our stay! We were close to restaurants and shops, we had easy public transportation, everyone was nice and helpful, and the room was great! Definitely an older building, but it's hard to beat!
4.2
We always enjoy staying at the Drake but this last visit was for 4 nights and there was no heat in the building which made for very chilly evenings in the 40s.

I know it’s old and is historical, but the rooms need an update. Housekeeping needs to collect glasses from the hallways and rooms instead of just leaving them. Electrical needs to be updated - coffee maker apparently blew the power strip. Even though it’s a no-smoking hotel, the venting caused cigarette smoke to come into our room and continuously make it smell like smoke and since you can’t open the windows, you’re stuck running the AC even if it’s cold. The hotel needs to be updated.

The towels were rough and small the bathtub did not drain it was rather dated . I would not stay there again The next night we stayed at a Hampton Inn in Indiana. They are both owned by same company. The Hampton was spotless, newer, plush towels, and the shower drained properly, the Dtake is a fine old hotel but it just wasn’t what I remember.

This is the famous and Iconic Drake Hotel, the hotel looked great, great location, one of the worst rooms Ive ever been in. Cheap furniture, cheap lamps, nothing on the walls, TV tucked in a corner, felt like a motel room not the world famous Drake Hotel in Chicago. Getting off the elevator the entire 6th floor smells awful, I can't believe this was my first time staying at the Drake and this was my experience. Sorry Drake can't recommend your hotel, will stay at another property next time.

The room i shared was basic no view no refrigerator nor microwave, and the furniture was worn.

Beautiful historic hotel in the best part of Chicago. Friendly staff and great service. Nice, clean, spacious, comfortable room. Would definitely stay again.
4.2
Service was phenomenal. Excellent, attentive staff. That said, older hotel with noise issues. Michigan Ave is loud until the wee hours of the morning and the rooms are not close to sound proof.
4.2
Perfect. Staff was exceptional.

Property just badly needs updating. Horrible water pressure. Bed and pillows very average.

The Drake is a lovely older hotel and with saying that you occasionally get a room that could use upgrades. I’ve stayed there numerous times and have always had a good experience

This hotel is old and needs some serious renovation.. this old hotel is literally a place that you don’t want to stay.. sorry for the brutal comment but this 100 year old has remained in the 1920s

The bathroom is not ADA accessible. Absolutely not! And the toilet flushes at an alarmino loud rate high enough that you need to plug your ears to be honest-Horribly loud!!!! The room is not also ADA accessible if we wanted to order room service, there was nowhere to set your food down., Especially if using a walker or a wheelchair!!!

What a great weekend with both had on our romantic weekend! Thanks Drake Hotel for making it even more special!

Love staying at Drake but I messed up and didn’t realize I booked a king bed for 3 adults. There was a pullout. I went down to see about a room with 2 beds and they promptly said they had a 2 bed room. It was a room with 2 twins and much smaller than the previous room. I was so hot and tired from carrying around luggage I did not call back. I should have but we made due with room. Wish they would have told me we were getting 2 twins- I would have stayed in the king room.

Had an excellent stay for four nights. We had a lake view and enjoyed waking up every morning to this beautiful lake view. Bathroom was small, but we managed having to put our bathroom necessities on a table right outside of bathroom. The housekeeping lady was so sweet and did an excellent job everyday (wish I could remember her name). This hotel has had a lot of famous people stay so it was neat to see the pictures. Super close to all the shopping places and lots of restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

First time staying in downtown Chicago, and The Drake didn't disappoint. Beautiful old building in the heart of downtown. A block or so from Lake Michigan, and so many walkable sights. Service was A+

Hotel lobby was very nice. Staff were excellent and helpful. The room was old. The bed was very uncomfortable I could feel springs on edges. The lake view was nice but traffic noise was bad. The walls were thin we could hear toilet flush in other room and shower running.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. I thoroughly enjoyed the warmth, courteousness, professionalism, helpfulness, knowledgeableness, and friendly engagement of the staff. They made me feel like a king. The Cafe on Oak not only serve up the most exquisite breakfast I've eaten, but the attending staff were par excellent. Because of my positive and warm experience, I will return to this property soon.

Woke up after the first night of our stay with bug bites all over my arms, hands, and left ankle. My guest said she had bug bites also, so we searched the room and found bed bugs.
We took pictures of our bites and the bed bug we found under the covers and alerted the front desk. We were moved to a different, (but smaller) room on the same floor. We received new key cards, but both sets didn’t work, so I had to go to the lobby twice before asking security to manually unlock the door for us.
The property paid to have all our clothes dry cleaned, so we spent a long time sorting through all of our clothes in the old room to put them in a bag to be sent off for dry cleaning.
Because of this, we had no pajamas to sleep in. I lifted up the mattress in the new room and found black spots that appeared to be dirt, but I was afraid there were bed bugs in this room also, so I slept in the chair at the desk for the remaining nights of our stay.
We were also afraid the bugs had been in our luggage, so we had to Lysol everything, and I purchased Ziploc bags to store each of my clothing and toiletry items in them as a precaution.
I wanted a full reimbursement for all the stress, the 10 bites I received in one night, and the horrible experience that ruined my first visit to Chicago, but received half back as compensation.
I had to keep calling/messaging to get anyone to respond to my request for compensation as well.
The room was also filthy in general — dirt under the furniture, etc.

It was at the tip of the magnificent mile, our room was historic and we got visited by the Lady in Red. Left a nice review on google as well s yelp, but for my first time at this facility i had a blast! The Executive Lounge for Tea Time was beautiful and the wedding in the main ballroom was gorgeous! Congrats to the happy couple and thank you expedia for the good deal. My room wasnt overpriced for the location and the amount of content I got left me many hours of editing to do this week!
