Hotel was so old, parking space for check in client most of the time not available. Food service during the convention was poor

Great hotel, we were upgraded because my gold status with hotels.com but the rooms are all very nice, clean, spacious and good amenities. Restaurants are great and good location. Service is really what made the difference for us, the staff is incredible

A beautiful hotel from another time. From checkin to checkout everything was perfect. All the staff were very professional. The breakfast buffet was very extensive but very busy, even at 730am.
The staff was very helpful in helping us find a driver to San Juan, La Union.

The stay was pretty good up until the political events within the hotel regarding the Filipino political parties. When they showed up there was no place to eat because of the other outside individuals decided to be there for the next week or so not fun. The hotel should set up a Designated Place so that the “Paying Guest” have a place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner that was not done. I had to go outside and find something to eat. Not good at all…in any imaginable way. I did receive an apology for management in writing from the Manila hotel Manager for their poor service, but that does not excuse the fact that they have no forward thinking.

Love this Hotel. Staff terrific and very attentive. Breakfast is a Feast. If you like Golf there is a Sweet course across the Street. Nice Pool and Gym also. Historic and Beautiful.

This hotel is the inspirational! The interior design is definitely the best ive ever seen even better than any hotel in vegas ! It is like a museum of craftsmanship and fine woodwork! I took a hundred pictures of the place! The breakfast buffet was also the best ever! It was like a shopping mall of culinary creations! There was a piano player during the day in the lobby and a lounge singer in the bar...just "elegance" defined!

This is our favourite hotel in Manila! Stayed here for 5 nights. Staffs are all warm and helpful. Free shuttle service to Mall of Asia. In room dining is good as well. Buffet breakfast is outstanding but it’ll be nice if the last call would be at 10am and not 9:30am. Overall my whole family enjoyed our stay.

As always, I know I can count on a very relaxing experience with The Manila Hotel! I’ve been staying at The Manila Hotel regularly since my first visit in 1977! The professional behavior and attention to the details is what makes the Manila Hotel stand out for me. I’ll be back again during my next visit later this year!

This is certainly one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in my life. The lobby, the restaurant, the reception area, art gallery, shops, pool...everything was just like in a dream. I felt like being in a movie back in time. It's such a historical place! Will definitely come back.

Beautiful & historical- great place for 17yo dtr and spouse to see traditional Phil on our 4-night stay. Tucked away in far corner of hotel, never able to enter their museum, always was closed; but we tried 3x. A 3-day Centro Escolar Uni graduation ceremonies also took place at hotel. Kudos, for excellent buffet breakfasts for our family of 3 - varied and plentiful selections, impressive ranging from Halal- Chinese- American- Filipino - other healthy options, too at the Ylang-ylang Restaurant. Had 2 dinners for convenience from Red Jade Restaurant. We had Mon night of in-room dining due to the chaotic and full scene of college grads families filling main floor and dining rooms that we could not get a seat or a very long wait in either Ylang-ylang or Red Jade Restaurants. Service and waitstaff were outstanding and very helpful.
Our hotel room was clean although needed some sprucing up; but expansive enough in size and the beds were comfortable, not lumpy! The water view was great and the floor was quiet as requested ahead, since the spouse is a light sleeper.
This was a great intro for my 17-yo dtr and husband to see traditional Phil as it was- down to the traditional wear! Thanks, Manila Hotel for showcasing this.

This hotel is now 112 yrs old, showing it's age in the rooms themselves. With worn carpet, low lighting levels, not much connectivity for gagets. Bed is just ok. Bath is very nice with good hot water, tub, and shower. The buildings common areas are very ornate promoting an era long gone by with many lovely chandeliers, seating, live piano music, ect. Champagne Room Restaurant is absolutely fine dining dress accordingly. Wait staff understands fine dining! The other restaurant where morning breakfast is available like many restaurants in the Philippines serves every American dish, cold at best. Skip this restaurant and do the 7 course fine dining Champagne Room. Check in, and house staff are absolutely excellent. Prices are very affordable. I would stay again. I believe you would too!

The Manila team rightfully proud of their heritage property; this is one of Asia’s grand old hotels.
Convenient for tourist hotspot Intramuros and 20-30 mins (weekend) to Makati/BGC.
Well sound-proofed from outside, although some leakage from adjacent rooms.
Felt safe walking around the locale after dark; the rough sleepers minded their own business.
Highly recommended.

Exceptional stay. It did not disappoint! Great service, luxury at it’s finest.

Very unique property. Obviously built as a high-end experience. Unfortunately, much of it is dated, but still I would suspect one of the best places to stay in Manila (although I don't have much for comparison).
There are several restaurants in the hotel, and an elaborate breakfast. I really enjoyed the food.
A bit of a ways from the airport, but taxis are cheap (mine was 566 php = $10 (although the driver had his own exchange rate in mind). Not much around the property to visit.
Staff was overly friendly, but always helpful.
I would probably stay here again if I found myself in Manila.

My recent stay proves this property will no longer provide a luxury experience. It is merely a perfunctory hotel hiding behind a glorious shell of a building.
Our family has been going to this hotel for years whenever we have a reason to celebrate in Manila. The common areas remain grand. Food from the buffet and room service is still good. The influx of people can be tolerated, considering it is the height of the busy summer season.
The room was adequate in size and facilities. However, the carpet was definitely well worn and poorly maintained. The closet spaces were dusty. In room amenities were definitely lacking, although the housekeeping staff are happy to provide should you need them.
The pool area carpets were haphazardly installed, and the towels were left scattered around for hours. The facilities have also been reduced. While doing laps, my partner saw worms at the bottom of the pool, which triggered our immediate departure.
The staff in the high contact areas (particularly the doormen, bellboys, and waiters at Cafe Ilang Ilang) lacked the poise, refinement, and attention required in working an establishment of this calibre. Perhaps this is a training issue as The Manila Hotel of my previous stays have never been this... bad?
I came here to celebrate my birthday. Apart from that, I used to be a member, and prior to this stay I was contemplating if it was worth renewing it. Overall, it was mildly depressing stay.
So maybe reconsider your plans here.

I’ve been to a lot of hotels in Central Luzon, and Manila Hotel is by far, the best one I’ve been to!

Historic hotel with a gorgeous lobby. The staff is pleasant and kind, the hotel is clean, and hosts a large number of people as guests, convention attendees, diners at its restaurants, and visitors just wanting to enjoy the lobby.
However, the hotel rooms desperately need to be upgraded, the carpet, fixtures, and furniture are old. The air conditioner in our room struggled to lower the temperature even a degree. The elevators were slow, also needing an upgrade to better manage the volume of guests.
It would be nice to see The Manila Hotel regain its former prestige especially with its history, its location, and its beauty.

Proud to stay at historic site- I love the lounge with music, ambiance, food/ drinks. Also like that they provide more amenities like toothbrush, lotion which oftentimes forget to bring.

Everything and everybody was great except at the alacart dining. It took 35 mins before someone approach us to offer menu. No one even bothered to offer drinks or water after we sat down until after I called their attention. It happened duting dinner time ans lunch time. It was awful. Security guards are the best.

Not the hotel’s fault but it was so busy and their lobby was full of non guests since a lot of activities are happening. So staff was very busy but still friendly to everyone.
