God posetiv stemning.

Wonderful place but the privacy in the rooms is a bit tricky as anybody who walks by on the beach can look into the rooms unless the curtains have been completely drawn. The room was nice and cozy but not really 5 star quality. The breakfast and service in reception was great!

Awful casino no parking construction spoiled all views

Sadly not what I was expecting. It is ok that the rooms are outdated however it is not ok with dust and dirty cups. The minibar was full of stains and the sink was full of hair so the water was stuck. Would not recommend.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. Some things were surprising though in a hotel of this quality - the curtains not being of sufficient quality to keep out any of the bright sunlight, the only way to turn on the fan was by climbing up on the bed, the tv remote not working. A bit disappointing in a hotel at this price point.

Beautiful place, great service, good restaurant and bar

Lovely location and great service. Only negative was that my room wasn’t ready for check-in at 3pm as promised which left me little time to get ready for my event.
It is a big hotel and there is lots of guests so expect queues for checkin, bar, breakfast buffet etc
I would stay again and try the spa facilities next time.

Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Considering the high price I had expected a lot more.
Very old and not very clean. Dirty carpet and dirt in the corners.
On the plus side it was a very nice breakfast.

The Marienlyst is in all categories the best Hotel I have ever stayed at. The Restaurants (yes, there is more than one!) are outstanding, the staff is fantastic. There is so much love for Details in every corner of the hotel. You will have an unforgettable time at the Marienlsyt. It is pricey but it is worth it!

Rooms in old part of hotel are not as nice. Pool facilities not included in rate and no discount given to hotel guests. Very expensive

I had a reservation for just one night, which turned out to be enough. The room wasn’t ready until 40min AFTER check-in (3pm according to their own instructions), so I was asked to just sit in the reception area until the room was ready for me.
When the room was ready, I was not offered a free drink at the bar as all the other guests, whom I could see and hear from where I was waiting, so I asked if I also qualified for a free drink. I got one, which was only valid that same evening, an evening I already had plans for, so I had no use for it after all.
My room was down the hall from the elevator, a very frequently used elevator, and not only could I hear the door opening and arrival sounds in my room, the whole room shook when the elevator when up and down -it was very difficult to fall asleep like this.
Also, weirdly, the thin top mattress just below the sheet was at least 30cm narrower than the mattress which made a ridge where I had to sleep.
On the up-side, there was a bottle of wine in my room -to compensate for the construction noise outside my window -but no glass-so I had to drink it out of a coffee mug.
In my opinion it is also very late for breakfast to start at 7:30am on weekends, most other hotels I stay at breakfast is available from 6am every day of the week.

The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, very clean and the view and access to the beach are incredible. We had dinner at 1861, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and very spacious; the only thing that I didn’t like was the blanket, even though it was very soft, it was too thick so we couldn’t sleep very well.

Weather was amazing and this hotel is right by the ocean front with beach chairs, beach volley, SUP and other activities to do. Perfect for a little cool-off-getaway.

fantastic hotel, I must say the 1861 was the high point -- excellent restaurant in every way -- would most definitely stay there again, an absolutely great place !!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was better than most hotels and the service was outstanding. We have tried other accommodations in Helsingor DK and this is the one that we will stay at in the future.

It was big and beautiful. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Beds were comfortable.

Amazing stay at a resort hotel. We paid for a room with ocean view and regretted nothing. Private balcony with the sound of ocean waves rolling in fit so well with the relaxing time spent walking the beach and hanging out in the many heating pools and other spa treatments. The food from the lobby restaurant hit the spot and the lobby bar was fun and hopping well into the evening.

The hotel was by far the best my husband and I had experience over the preceding 7\10 days. Everything from the service to the food was lovely. We would highly recommend this hotel to others considering a stay in or near Helsingor.

Very nice hotel with beautiful location and all the facilities you could want. Restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. Very expensive (it is Denmark afterall) just not good enough. Breakfast was very good.

Stunning hotel . Staff absolutely fantastic , so helpful . Breakfast was amazing . The room was spotless . ( just second day when they got to clean the room ) . The food in the bar was red hot & so fresh . We ate lunch one day . Was greeted by a lovely Swedish lady Katrina ( I think ) nothing was too much trouble for her . We told her that we was taking the ferry to Sweden . Katrina told us which way to go. I am going back in a couple of months with my son , to fish. Would we even consider staying somewhere else . NEVER! Thank you all for making our short stay so memorable . See you soon . Paul .

Great room and great breakfast and even boots to borrow for the beach!

The only thing I did not like was that I did not have the good sense to book my spa services before arrival. The hotel has a casino located away from the main building. Excellent breakfast.

All good, not super modern room, but romantic and old fashioned. "Brasseriet" was amazing with new nordic food served with great view over the water.

Location, food and wine is excellent. Had one bad experience with a waiter - but management went out of their way to rectify what was a bad start.

Lovely hotel near the beach, and very convenient for exploring Kronborg Castle (15/20 min walk w children in tow). Undergoing work at present but decor is tasteful and atmosphere is relaxing. Great breakfast.Unfortunately the swimming pool is part of an adult only spa (we had our children with us) so we couldn’t use it.

Big, beautiful hotel right on the water. My room was on the small side but very functional. It's a little bit of a walk to the main area of town, but not too bad. The casino is small but very nice.

I was scheduled to stay three days at the hotel. The reception area and location was nice with a beautiful view of the water from some areas, but the room seemed to have no AC or airflow of any kind. The pool was also closed for maintenance, which I was not told about in advance. I checked out a day early due to business reasons, and was promised a refund for the last day, but after multiple calls and inquiries on my behalf by Expedia, they did not give me the refund.

Overpriced hotel for what it was.
