We regard this place as our home-from-home, as we stay quite often. We always receive a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable and clean, the restaurant menu is varied and the on-site parking is convenient .

An unexpectedly better than average stay and very good value for money. The room was larger than average with a comfortable bed and enjoyed a quiet night's sleep 😊
The breakfast was well worth £10.50pp, cooked to order and delicious. And have to mention the waitresses who were particularly pleasant, efficient and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

The hotel provided a very spacious family room and nice tea/coffee/shortbread and a big, clean bathroom. Parking was easy and well located for the town and from motorway.

Cant fault this hotel, staff at breakfast best ive seen in years credit to the hotel

Good amount of parking at the back with a narrow entrance - useful to deter thieves.
Friendly staff. Good food & beer.
My only issue was the room - a bit small and dingy, the bathroom lacking finesse, the TV was to the side of the bed, meaning you can't watch it from bed.

This is an older premises, so the decor and condition reflect that. I stayed in room 9, the bed was a bit too soft for me and the height on the shower head could not be changed (too low for me). Otherwise the room was okay. Staff friendly and helpful. Free parking in car park at rear.

Very spacious bedroom & bathroom. Hard working staff & good food in restaurant!
One suggestion would be to upgrade the bathrooms as they are very tired & dated. We were three couples staying for three nights & all shared similar views about the bathrooms needing an upgrade. Other than that a great place to stay over.

Unable to book dinner in restaurant and no free tables in bar either at time of enquiry.
Goodwood w/end!

Had a lovely stay. Nothing was too much trouble for staff. Worked around my dairy intolerance provided me with soya milk so I could have a hot drink in my room. We opted for continental breakfast which was lovely and lots to choose from we didn’t have any hot food but seeing others plates being bought out it did look lovely. Bed was amazing and so comfortable bathroom was spotless as was the whole room.

The hotel room was really dirty and smelly. The smell of damp and mould was overpowering.

Loved my stay here.
The staff were by far the best thing about this place.
The staff are a little bit older than you would usually see. They were so polite and attentive and seemed to genuinely care about you and what you were doing.
Food was fantastic.
I only knocked down the score as the bathroom was pretty run down however it was very clean.
Will definitely be back here.

Nice clean room, decent size bed for a single room, bed was very comfy. Only point to note was the sash window only opened a couple of inches and wouldn’t stay open so it got a tad warm

This coaching inn needs a complete refurbishment. The decor is tired and very old. For example when putting a mug on the bedside table the varnish is so old and tacky the mug stuck and needed removing using two hands. Bathroom and fittings are old, carpet in the bedroom stained in places.
No table mats to protect the furniture from staining hence lots of marks from previous guests.
The staff were very pleasant in the bar and dining room.
We had the room above the bar and were able to hear the music until 11 at night and from 7 am in the morning.
The price for two nights had been raised obviouslydue to the Goodwood festival of speed most of the guests we met were attending.
Over £150 per night! Way over the usual rate!

Polite welcome at our late check in (9pm). Very comfortable beds in well equipped rooms. Could have just done with one more handtowel to dry hair. Lovely cooked breakfast from attentive and friendly staff.

A 2 night stay for visiting relatives - given a choice of a ground floor room or on 2nd floor which was appreciated. The bathroom was clean but a little tired. Asked about there only being one hand towel but 2 very large bath towels and told it was Greene King policy. Also told that we could ask for an extra hand towel.

An ideal base for exploring this historic area. A welcoming team for whom nothing was too much trouble. We always look forward to staying here and are never disappointed.
