Not so good. Put chair against Door at night- to feel safe. Looks not good. Told three standards in hotel at checkout- mine lowest- cracked tiles in family bathroom floor. Glass black up 3 inches- filthy shower on ledge around just outside shower all way around. Toilet needs cleanser. Breakfast extra cost- only eggs or raisin toast - no fruit choice or yoghurt. Bistro did have decaf coffee and lactose free milk. Windows all rotten at base. Not sealed and hear all noise from outdoor night place 3 doors away so hard to get to sleep until well after midnight. Do not clean room or make bed unless you see sign in room and let them know between 9-5 pm- as out b4- 8 am and when back late too exhausted to drop into office- welcome pack says dial 9 for office- but no phone in room - web page says 4 star hotel yet no mention that old heritage like mine to renovated modern- nothing on hotel.com says anything about room quality yet I thought I was paying for a good quality room - I took own tea bags. Only Old English tea or normal Nescafé - not a fan either . Ironing board needs new padding underneath as ruined some clothes when ironing . Desk drawers fall open if no chair there to hold shut. Old chair in room absolutely filthy and bit thread bare like picked up from rubbish heap and suspension /padding worn out . ( one used in web page photo years ago when clean?)I put a towel at bottom Doir to block light coming into room. No fly wire screen on window. Sheets clean on top bed.

Very tired and rundown. Hard bed. Service was very perfunctory. Smallish miserable room. No attention to detail. Such a shame to see such a historic icon so neglected. Posters everywhere about how green they are whilst providing single use plastic toiletries - obviously only interested in saving money on housekeeping and laundry and not reducing their impact on the environment.

Location was ideal, but the bed being propped up by timber and the pillows hard and flat. Uncomfortable one nights sleep for the overpriced room.

Staff are amazing people hard workers, from reception to cleaners to the waitresses and waiters all are so helpful and friendly. They all need a pay rise.
However the room its self was very mid at best. Wallpaper peeling off walls, power socket next to the chair didnt work ended up finding one next to the bed but only if you pull it out, tv would just lose signal randomly, i wanted to get room service but guesd what we couldnt find the phone, odd smell in the place maybe just be cause of age however just because it looks old doesnt mean it needs to smell it too, nose was gastly kept us awake the whole night need some sound proofing, main might is pointless as it is do dim

Historic hotel in central Bendigo easy distance to everything with tram stop opposite. Large spacious rooms with high ceilings. Very comfortable bed and friendly staff. Definetly recommend and will stay again.

Poor receptionist - didn't know anything about carparking and/or if the dining services were not available after 3pm, no dining services between 3pm & 5pm and no other options given, no room service, don't know how to make anything but a flat white, noise level - great to have functions but how about other guests who are travelling and trying to get some sleep!!!! :-(

It was convenient for us to stay.
The rooms need a good coat of pain.
Bathroom needs a freshen up, very dangerous with the shower curtain water all over the floor.
Bistro staff women was rude and not friendly at all. She needs to take happy pills or maybe not work with customers.

The property is very very tired, old and dilapidated and should either be retired completely or closed for a very extensive renovation..

Loved the central location to everything and the historic nature of the property it self. Really beautiful experience. Great fun.

Wonderful service, very high standard of cleanliness, great restaurant at the premises, excellence in all areas. I'm definitely going back there in the future!

Lovely old pub, room was ok, clean and everything you needed, a bit tired. We expected a bit more of the pub itself. There are limited areas to just sit and have a drink, when we found a lounge, ordered wine, we were told we had to leave at 3pm as they close till 5. No cocktail service, staff a bit off handed, didn’t really care.

The room was suitable for the three of us. Super clean and comfy! Everything about the Shamrock felt ‘tired’. It’s ready for a revamp! New paint at the bare minimum.

The Shamrock is a very old hotel, and it is showing its age. The room was ok, and bathroom nice, but the reception and general feel is of faded glory. Very centrally located, and easy walk to most places of interest.

Wonderful historic building right in the centre of Bendigo. Easy walking to dining options, cafes and many of Bendigo’s great tourist attractions.

Tired and average. Would not recommend

The architecture of the building is beautiful. The room was large. The bathroom was disappointing considering the grandeur of the building. I get the old style furniture was fitting for the rooms but the couch and chairs were tired - they need refreshing or reupholstering. For the cost of the room I expected a higher quality of furniture and fittings.

All the staff were most helpful and polite. the service was quick and efficient.
The only slight problem was someone in a nearby room had the aircon on nearly all night and it caused a dull noise that could be heard in my room.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Shamrock. The building is stunning & our room was large with beautiful views. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the shower & the kettle didn’t work properly (which I did report to staff on check out so hopefully this gets fixed) otherwise I cannot fault it. The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. The food was great too! We will definitely return. Thank you!

I recently had an incredible experience at your hotel that I just had to share with you.
As someone who travels frequently, I am always on the lookout for great accommodations, friendly staff, and of course, delicious food. Your hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the level of service and attention to detail. The facilities were top-notch, and I truly felt like I was staying in a home away from home.
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience I had at your hotel. I also wanted to inquire about the possibility of booking a room for an upcoming trip. I am hoping to return to [City] in the near future and would love to stay at your hotel once again.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
