Worst place ever. They said I could check out @1 and they called and rushed me. They deactivated my keys so I couldn't get back in. I hate this place. Never coming here again.

The hotel needs an update. couch in room was cheap, old and no support for back that is how worn out it was cushions sunk ready for garbage and had cat clawing marks
The dishwasher after rinse cycle never pumped out water even after trying to rinse agaiin old dishwasher or needs repair
room always smelled like cat piss it seems even if you washes rugs smell probably would linger probably due to cat at one time in room waa basically like a cat litter box so much so i had to go buy scented candles. all rooms were full because of halloween so i was stuck
pot for cookimg were also old and burnt not enough silverware only service for 4 had to keep washing forks sad and no can openers for canned food nor bottle openers
towels provided for baths were not bath size and small. also near sink in bathroom no soap holder had to leave soap on marble area
tub itself was slippery to shower not a slip free modern tub they should provide a slip free tub or at least a bath mat
coffee pot provided only was 2 cub server. my son also had a room his room had a normal coffee machine and did not smell of piss
i was so disappointed with my stay. staff was nice and polite though but room experience was si bad

The first room we checked into smelled like cat urine. There was trash left in the room, the sofa bed still had old dirty sheets with a bunch of trash under the mattress. While in the lobby waiting to let the front desk know, the lady in the room next to us was checking out of the hotel because she had roaches in her room. There were no other hotels in the area so we had no choice but to swith rooms to the other building.

The only thing negative I would say about the room was the bathroom. It was too small. Our door didn’t close. The toilet was way too short and the tub was slippery. It was very clean, but those things made it difficult to use.

Came across Candlewood Suites when scheduling a last-minute family visit. The hotel I normally use was full, so I decided to try Candlewood. It was great! The room was clean and comfortable, equipped with a small but fully functional kitchen. It’s only five minutes from my family, and very competitively priced. Will definitely stay here again.

We were excited about this stay. I had spent a good dollar, it looked great. We wanted to see Salem as well.
Not all IHG hotels are created equal, I found. The fellow at check in was lovely. But the complex! Grubby doors you’d find in the worst alleyway that you didn’t want to touch. Some undesirable people in the parking lot and on complex. Several suites are occupied by people on welfare, there were drug dealings.
We got into our suite and checked the cupboards. One fork, one dirty knife, one spoon, one drinking glass. Room 127. No paper towels, no coffee and it didn’t match the pictures as it was missing a standing lamp and was dark. The fridge, stove and microwave stainless hadn’t been wiped down. We went to get our luggage and the door wouldn't close as the lock was broken. We ended up moving to an another suite, room 130, which was better. Luck of the cleaner you got. We checked inventory and took items from the first room (as the door was still open) so that we had two of everything. They had an oven, but not a cookie sheet or a pie plate to use. I bought tin foil pans.
The BBQ’s were filthy, so unusable. One washer was broken and the dryers didn’t dry well, so we took clothes back to the room and hung them to dry.
There were some folk that lived there that were really rough. I ran into one woman in the laundry with no teeth and who had showered in days. Not a place I want to be.
The exit doors did not have door closers, so banged all night.

It was subpar at best. I’m not entitled and have stayed in some very sketchy places and felt more comfortable than I did at this stay. Front desk staff was frazzled, cussing about how bad they hate their lives some days and the urgency for service was just lacking.
When someone went downstairs to go get an additional blanket, they were met by an off the clock employee who after handing out a flat sheet as a “blanket” and then proceeded to tell the front desk staff that he was going to eat in one of the dirty rooms before he cleaned them. Found that very inappropriate.
The hallway smelt like smoke and trash.
Will definitely not be going back here.

Room was perfect for what we needed however parking lot has numerous people just hanging out from long term rental situation. Didn’t feel great about leaving our car parked there

The hotel was very difficult to find. Needs to be updated. Smelled very musty and appeared pets allowed. Just smelled like wet dog. Dark hallways. Creepy. Not impressed.

The hallway smelled like cat pee when we walked in and one of our rooms the fire alarm was broken off the ceiling and the Maintenance man had to come fix it, which should have been noticed before we checked in. The oven door was also broken and it looked like people lived at this “hotel” as well. Needless to say we left a day early because it wasn’t comfy or cozy! Pictures lie!

Hallways and stairways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. Furniture in room was tired and looked dirty. Television did not work and person at desk could not fix it. I would not stay there again - it certainly was not worth the nightly rate they charged.

We’ve stayed at a couple Candlewood Suites, and this one is pretty skimpy on amenities in comparison, but it is very affordable and met our need for a 2BR suite, which is hard to find. No breakfast, no pool, and the room was not stocked for 5 people, so I had to ask for bedding for the sofabed, hand soap (none in room!), and towels (only 3 in suite.) Bob was super friendly and on top of things. The other employees were polite but fairly uninterested. They only clean once a week, so if you want housekeeping, you’ll need to ask.

I particularly like these rooms because they are more home like. The rooms that have a living room and 2 bedrooms are ideal if you're in between living situations however i think the Price could be a little bit Better for the fact that they do not have a pool either but overall i think it's a fair hotel

Was staying there for a wedding we were going to in Beverly. The reservation desk person was very pleasant during our check in and check out. The room was clean but it had a horrible smell...that really ruined it for us. Luckily we were only sleeping there and not spending a lot of time in the room But it certainly made us get up and out early.

Loved our 2 bedroom room. Comfy beds.

The hotel is run down and a mess. The elevator was broken. The lobby and hallways smelled. The carpet was dirty. At the end of the parking lot, there was an EZ Up with random people sitting under it and hanging out everyday. There were random teenage boys sitting at the outdoor tables. On two days there were men in the parking lot drinking hard liquor out of bottles. The hotel allows people to live in the rooms. They also allow dogs and we were woken up multiple nights because of barking. They also allow smoking in rooms which you can smell in your room when the other room’s door is opened. Someone was smoking marijuana on our last night and we smelled it in our room. We had to move rooms because the people in the room next to us were living in the room with a dog which barked. The new rooms AC didn’t work properly. The laundry room was filthy. The individuals hanging around the hotel did not provide a sense of security. It was overall a bad experience.

Overall a good stay. Plentiful parking, comfortable bed and small kitchenette. Restaurants and shops nearby but car is needed.

Our room was not ready when promised; this caused a big issue for us. When we did get the room, we had a suite for 4 people. There were only 3 bath towels, no hand towels or washcloths. We had to request those. We made reservations 6 months in advance and felt we were treated like an afterthought. Would not recommend this hotel.

While the room was not dirty, it was shabby and had a distasteful odor.

Finding the entrance proved to be a challenge. No street signs, you drive through a shopping center parking lot to get to the hotel. Plenty of parking, fast elevator!

Oddly laid out. The fridge opens the wrong way. The toilet is so close to the sink that you bang into the corner of the sink counter when you sit down. The bed was comfortable but the couch wasn't. Very limited amount of dishes. Okay for a quick stay but not for a long vacation.

To be fair, this hotel feels a bit older and is (comparatively speaking) quite affordable for the area. Even still, I wish several things had gone better during my stay. Here are just a few things I found lacking:
** The ice machine is broken. There were ice cube trays in the freezer of my (smaller) refrigerator, but they didn't have any ice made when I arrived with a room-temperature drink I'd hoped to drink cold.
** The laundry machines in one of the buildings were broken, I was told by housekeeping. So much for doing laundry.
** The water pressure was terrible, and it's a mystery to me why a hotel in 2024 wouldn't have a curved shower bar. The curtain was touching me the entire time I showered.
** The entirety of my stay, there were one or two people (same people for 48 hours) who seemed to be permanently hanging out at one of the entrances. I don't know if they were staying there, but it made me feel a bit uncomfortable coming and going.
** The thermostat wouldn't accept overrides of its default temp. I kept nudging it down, and every time I looked, it had reset back.
** The TV in the living area had no connection to any cable/services. It was unusable.
** The desk chair wasn't much different from most hotel chairs, but its design cut off circulation in my hips.
** The couch was like sitting on concrete.

The suite that I had booked was nice; however, I am pretty sure some of the utensils in the dishwasher that was there when I have arrived have been used by previous guests to engage in drug use based on their stains. Moreover, the guests in the suite adjacent to mine were loud most of the night, banging, and had sketchy looking people going in and out of that room at all hours. Pretty sure they were criminals. For a four star hotel, I expected the caliber of guests to be better.

The staff was nice. However, the room was not clean. It smelt like cigarette smoke and when you walked in the hallway it had a Marijuana smell. The hotel buildong was ok. Had people standing outside smoking. The hotel qas full of people who appeared to be workong from out of town so it did not look safe.
